Omg thank you so much for this video! I told my dad I’d help in the garden and the trimming was fine until I had to replace the spool! Couldn’t find the exact video I wanted until I saw yours.
I'm often frustrated by the waffling on about their life story that you-tubers do when I'm looking for "how to" help. This was typical of that, but there was about 45 seconds of your video that was helpful, thanks. Appreciated your camera being in focus, close-ups etc
Hi, the video was informative. I have the same trimmer(bought it a week ago) and was wondering if you have experienced the nylon line retracting into the spool when using it? Do you think that the line may have encountered some robust grass and it tangled or the line was not spooled neatly from the manufacturer? I would appreciate any thoughts on the issue.
I explain every step while I’m doing it. The string goes into that plastic ‘clamp’ just to make it easier to insert the entire piece back in. So the string doesn’t unravel while inserting and turning upside down
Help! I've re done it about 6 times now and every time it stops feeding the line and geys caught back up inside the housing. Im winding it tight and with the direction of tje arrow. No idea what I'm doing wrong
To free more wire after it gets too short do u have to pull the piece and manually pull some and snap it back in place. Or can you just pull some without taking anything apart.
That’s a good question. It should unspool on its own but I always have trouble with it. You can pull the top off slightly and yank the line out. I need to try different line to see if the issue is that or with the equipment
Ricardo, to get more wire out, you simply bump the bottom of the strimmer on the grass whilst you it is spinning under battery power, which compresses the coil spring inside the wire retainer allowing centrifugal force to pull the wire out. You do this bounce once or twice until you hear the sound of the wire being cut my the preset cutter on the base. At this point your wire is at the perfect length for the diameter of the guard that contains the base. If you are a bit clumsy with the winding of the wire you may find that bouncing doesn't allow the wire to come out. At that point you can, AFTER REMOVING THE BATTERY, push the centre piece in physically with your finger and use your other hand to pull out the wire until it reaches the metal cutter. Pop the battery back on and strim away. Don't be lazy with battery removal - there are plenty of people who can attest to the consequences when safety features don't do what they are supposed to. Kick all stones away from areas you need to strim, you will save so much wire, or having to replace greenhouse glass.
Thanks a million for this. Watched 1,000 "double string" videos, no single strings until yours!!
Thank you so much!! Couldn’t find how to do this anywhere else 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
That was epic. I couldn't find a video anywhere until this. Thanks a million 😊
Thank you so much. Had been looking help replacing single line cord. Your is easy to follow and so helpful.
Thanks alot! Was about to buy a new feeder just to replace the wire. Now I'll only buy the wire. :)

Thank you so much! I've been struggling with a sticking chord line for a year since I replaced my spool and couldn't find a demo anywhere!
Your video is better than the Makita manual 😂
Thanks! Well done for posting the first and seemingly still, _only_ instructional on this.

Why did you push it in at 4:55 then when you put the whole thing back together it popped off and you left it like that?

Maybe it is the wrong size line?

Thank you!! Well done and very helpful!

This is great... No videos which make any sense, but your's is pretty darned idiot proof. Thanks :)
Boss
Terrible. She's mumbling and blumbering around worse than I do . No help at all
Thank you dear
I don't agree: I'm from Australia and I understand her quite well.
Totally clear for me, not sure what you are mumbling about at all!
You can always hit the CC button so you can read the closed captions. Or do you have a reading as well as a hearing problem?
Thanks, really useful guide
Thank you!
Thank you
