Obviously a bit of a late comment here but for anyone thinking the same, I recommend checking Orla's latest project, it's a band with Dodie Greta And Martin Luke :3 First song is out tommorow
orla is so incredible live already, and the energy of everyone else performing with her, holy shit. these middle farm studio sessions are actually my favorite thing on the planet
Greta lead me to dodie, dodie lead me to Orla, and I'm loving the music family. Was great to follow you lot on social media over lockdowns - work doesn't allow my project to maintain any social media accounts since my clearance went to a different level; so I miss you guys! Wish you all the best and I'll see you around the next time you're in Washington D.C.
Orla... I am a 55 year old musician. I have played with many other musicians and places all over the U.S.A., including places like CBGB's in NYC and many other popular venues here in the states. I have heard many great songs written by amazingly talented people. But I have to admit that this song "Madison", that you have crafted so incredibly well, is by far one of the best songs that I have heard in decades, and I truly mean that. I mean, if it is that incredible with just you, an acoustic guitar, a little added keys, and backing harmony vocals, I can't imagine how this song will develop when you do a full production studio version of this song with a full band. THAT is going to be unbelievable! With all my love and admiration... -Wizzy ❤️
I totally agree with you. I'm a 40 year old musician from Germany. Played so manny shows with awesome musicians. But everytime I hear a Orla song I'm totaly blown away. Love her music!
agreed!! there's an almost deceptively simple sort of charm to this song - like you said, so well-crafted. and just to let you know the studio version of this song is already released (and it's plenty brilliant as well of course)! it's her debut album "woman on the internet" :)
@@buttons6171 Well, I just recently discovered Orla. I did not know that there was a full studio version of this song. Thanks for letting me know! I will definitely search for it now. Cheers!
I have a Madison in my life. She has the same amount of syllables as Madison. Sometimes when I’m all alone, I scream her name while listening to this song. It’s pure therapy
i honestly think this is my favorite song from woman on the internet, and this rendition is so absolutely beautiful, especially the HARMONIES?? gorgeous.
I melted every brain cell in my head Staring at my phone in bed Don't even know what I was feeling As I stared up at the ceiling My mother tells me I look tired But what does she know, I'm clearly alright Apart from every morning spent Wishing that I was still sleeping Yeah, I guess I could happier I suppose I could be less of a dick And yes I've been a regular At the bar where you drink 'Cause I like how you think Oh Madison, Madison Oh, I've been thinking How you been, how you been? I told you every single secret and you sat there silent I needed you then, now I need you again Madison God, you wear that shirt so well If you're not perfect, I can't tell Can I be your sister or your daughter Or your houseplant in the corner? Then I'd be happier 'Cause I'd never have to think for myself So can I call you? Can I see you? Oh Madison, Madison Oh, I've been thinkin' How you been, how you been? I told you every single secret and you sat there silent I needed you then, now I need you again And you said I could be happier In that moment, I knew it was true And this sadness is familiar I don't know where you're at Won't you please call me back? Oh, oh, oh Oh Madison, Madison Oh, I've been thinking How you been, how you been? I told you every single secret and you sat there silent You sat there silent Madison, Madison Do you ever think about me Just pouring my heart out? Every single secret and you sat there silent I needed you then, now I need you again Madison
Madison was my "song of September" that I listened to on repeat... looks like "Madison Orla and Friends version" will be the song of December--I cannot stop listening.
This is simply the best song I've heard this year. Everything about this song seems to fit so well. Orla Gartland is a rare songwriter who should definitely be much more successful around the world.
I'm guessing this was recorded when Fizz were creating their first album :) Love the line "...be your sister or your daughter or your houseplant in the corner"
awww lol i remember this child :) braces, fierce little bird with the gloriously dramatic facial expression making me love Samson when no one else could :) Beautiful
I never heard of this artist but it randomly came up on a UA-cam ad (before I got premium) and it cooled with me a bit so I looked it up on Shazam and into Spotify Since then I keep playing this on repeat whenever I remember it
Can't get enough of all of you. The talent, the album, these live performances with everyone, the harmonies... I'm obsessed!! This is one of my favourite songs from the album and this version??... So beautiful!
I CANNOT get enough of this song. This is the first I've heard of Orla Gartland and I'm so happy! Hats off to you Orla. Thanks for this contribution to my life.

My sister's name is Madison and I haven't seen her for years due to family issues! So giving my own meaning to this song just makes me cry
