When I pulled out my cheat cards, the dealer joked about me having one, and when I went against the card (I still won the hand). And I had someone ask me what they should do.

Little tip tho for blackjack: Ask people at the table if it’s cool if you join in. Sometimes if they’re running hot an extra person could mess up their flow. Normally they won’t care, but it’s respectful.
No players have any authority to not tell an extra player to sit with them. However, it is proper table game etiquette to ask the other players out of respect like you mentioned. What I like to do is stand behind a chair at the table to watch a few hands. If the cards are running cold, I’ll sit down. If they’re hot, I’ll stand a little longer to wait until cold or go to the next table. Always respect the other players.
You can leave whenever you want. Wait till the dealer pays everyone out for the current game that just ended. Before the next game starts, tell the dealer you would like to "color up" and push all your chips to middle. They will count it out and make you change with the least chips possible. They will push your money back to you. If you havent tipped the dealer yet, now would be the time to give them a tip ($5-10 is usually average). If you dont have a large amount of chips and are going to move to another table, once you are no longer playing or waiting to be paid, you can get up and leave. The dealer may try to stop you to color you up, but tell them you are going to a different table

In my experience if you just tell the other players at the table your new and ask if they'd mind helping you out, I always see the regular players giving help to the new people
On the other hand they can not force you to leave without cashing out, not matter how hard they might try. Counting cards is not illegal as playing smart isn’t cheating. Gaining an advantage is in your best interests as a player, but getting carried away is how you get banned.

I was actually looking at a basic strategy chart with my blurry ass drunk vision. I got a hard 13 and stood. As the dealer was showing 6. All my friends were yelling at me to hit but I was like nah. Dealer bust and I walked out with double my money cause we had to leave right after 🤣

I’ve been watching this guy Steven Bridges on UA-cam, he does card counting and always has to do the ID tango to cash out. Do non advantaged players really get wary about handing over ID? I’ve never been in a casino but I can imagine it’s a non issue for non advantaged players. Edit: I wouldn’t hand over my ID either unless I was legally required to when cashing out like over $10k or whatever the limit is. Just curious if there’s something weird they can do that I wouldn’t know about as a non player. But if it’s just because you aren’t required to, that makes sense.

When I went to a casino in Miami for the first time I asked how to play and they said “Yeah there’s a table right over there” and pointed at the exit.

Generally phones are not allowed but paper cheat sheets are allowed.
They allow it because even with the sheet the casino maintains about a 1% edge
