    That was great! Thanks for sharing. I bought some calls for me and my friends in Washington. My buddy told me he spooked a doe and fawn he was watching with the call...now I know why. They were close and he called loudly, plus they were in his backyard which I think had them nervous to begin with. His brother called to a 2 point behind his house, and it just kept eating, although he said it peed right away. I'm sure the call didnt make him urinate, but although it didn't react, it didn't send him running either. I will pass on the tips, thank you for them and for your successful demonstration!

    thanks U for this:) Im asking santa from one... ol' ma is on her late bow tag. Ive been shooting every day for months and started a note pad on my range # and do them when i get home for the extra confidence. i have been hunting for four years now on the oregon coast. I plan on going on scouting with that call during the off season. Many close calls but no cigar YET- trying my ace off.

    Do those type calls work for Columbian blacktail deer native to California or Oregon. Thanks again great video!

      Thank you ! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I called in a nice columbian blacktail in Elma, Wa back in 2009 with one like this. You can practice on the doe right now and see if they come to it. They should come running if they have fawns nearby. If you can get a doe to come to it, you can get a buck to come in with a doe when the rut starts

    thanks for the tips! My Question is does this call work best when the bucks are in the Rut! Im gonna go give it a try with the mulies on the eastside tomorrow im feeling confident in the sound these calls make! last year i used a plastic fawn bleat and they seem to like it.

    • @Sitka_Blacktail_Hunter
      @Sitka_Blacktail_Hunter  4 роки тому +1

      I would give it a shot it can’t hurt. I think you’ll get some sort of reaction. They come to these in the rut primarily, I’ve never used them really in the early season.

    So I ordered the deer call at the end of October, after watching your video, and still haven't received or heard from them sense placing the order. I'm sure they are busy, but at least answer your emails. Was wondering if you knew anything or how long it takes to receive orders. Anyway Merry Christmas.

    Dude, this is amazing! As I've commented in your other videos...This Dawn Call is a serious game changer, I can't believe more guys don't use this where I hunt. Have you had subscribers comment that this will work for Columbian BT as well...I would have to assume that Coastal WA bucks and does would respond in the same fashion right? What is your opinion when people say that using this during the rut might deter some bucks in certain areas, as it would indicate to them that the doe thats in the area has a fawn and isn't looking to breed...Obviously your videos are proof, but would love to hear feedback. Have you had bears come in on you during the rut? Always thinking about that situation as well!!! Keep em coming man! Can't wait to see your 2020 Buck!

    • @Sitka_Blacktail_Hunter
      @Sitka_Blacktail_Hunter  4 роки тому +3

      Yes this will call bears in , ive done it lots. As far as it working on Columbia’s it works . I called one in when I lived in Elma, Wa. I shot a real nice one. I honestly don’t know why it’s not a thing anywhere else .

    Anyone else having issues with wolves this season? seems to me the bear activity due to low hunting spring / fall (Covid nonsense) and now the growing issue with wolves seems to be causing the blacktail hunts on POW to suffer.. I've come across more wolf tracks this season than in any other season.. I am hearing many others having issue as well...

    • @Sitka_Blacktail_Hunter
      @Sitka_Blacktail_Hunter  4 роки тому

      Ya the wolves are BAD. they’re out of control. Traps are set in the very short season they gave us.

      @@Sitka_Blacktail_Hunter yeah it's really bad, been in all the right areas plenty of sign, they were up in the alpines late, sub alpine late and now rubbing branch and dropping low, not coming to the call for me? missed several giving me the slip by a few minutes :-) frustrating, then I see why... wolf tracks all over the place, never been a trapper but have some traps on the way hope they get here in time :-) going to watch your next video :-)

    • @Sitka_Blacktail_Hunter
      @Sitka_Blacktail_Hunter  4 роки тому +3

      It’s always hard to tell exactly but you can’t go wrong from November 1st -20th. My favorite time is the 7th-15th or so.

    • @azuljay912
      @azuljay912 4 роки тому +1

      it all depends, but a general rule is mid late Oct-mid late Nov.

    • @Sitka_Blacktail_Hunter
      @Sitka_Blacktail_Hunter  4 роки тому +2

      Keep in mind the rut starts in different places ant different times. For instance, it’s always earlier in Ketchikan compared to POW. Between all the trail camera pictures I have and two other who have a ton of cameras, the rut always starts over there earlier than here for some reason, even though they are just 40 miles away on a different Island. I’ve seen so many people come here too early and not see anything and then right about Halloween time it kicks off
