@@alinadornieden8411 you are correct. It was an ad for Nike and they staged it a bit. Everytime he would miss the cross bar someone was ready to shoot a ball with a ball cannon back to him. Later in post they removed the ball cannon guy and the false bouncing ball. Someone did a really good video analysis and picked two times the ball would miss the cross bar or at least would not bounce back to Ronaldinho.
Still 3 out of 5 is incredible!!
And I love that other ad where they made the most famous players juggle the ball blindfolded, of whom of them only one or two made it up to 3 contacts and then Ronaldinho comes along and juggles the ball over 19 times... Only in a BTS video they later revealed that he had a look through hole on the side the camera could not see, so he had at least one eye to watch the ball. But boy, that was funny as hell and the ad was something else. :D

Soccer balls obey the laws of physics, contrary to the absurd claims of some, and Ronaldinho was a savant in that respect. He knew exactly how the ball would behave in any given moment.

    • @windhelmguard5295
      @windhelmguard5295 2 місяці тому +4

yea thing is that the laws of physics are subject to runaway chaotic interactions, meaning that the more factors there are, the more weird stuff can happen.
like normally people just see the direction you kick the ball in, and many might factor in the spin, but what most people don't see is that the ball deforms and oscillates when you kick it with the power that professional players can have, which can completely change how the ball reacts.
it's arguably even more complex than snooker because at least snooker balls are, for all intents and purposes, perfectly rigid.

Referee here: if you think of where your armpit starts when you stand up straight with your arms down by your sides, and draw a horizontal line out from there, that part of your arm is NOT considered to be handball. So you can use your shoulder to hit the ball, but not your bicep/tricep or lower.

Ronaldinho was and still is cosidered as most gifted and tallented football player EVER! In his peak years he was unstoppable. He wasn't making drama, he was not toxic to fans or opposition either. His attitude is the most fun to watch, he was always smiling and just enjoying the game. On top of that he was a mentor to Messi in Barcelona and he made a pass to a first Messi's goal in top league. We can't see those players on todays pitches....stakes are much higher and a lot of toxicity is in the game next to a lot of money.

the rule about handball is you can't touch with arm and or hand, for the limitation it's about where the line on the shirt/jersey usually are, if it's top of the shoulder it's fine

On an occasion he had an amazing performance against Real Madrid at their home stadium, and the whole stadium started applauding him after he scored the second goal. Now the rivalry of the clubs is so fierce due to historical and political reasons as well, that it is impossible to be cheered by your rivals in football let alone Madrid fans who are known to also boo and whistle at their own players if they do not like how they perform.

Ronadinho was a one-off. He played the game literally for fun. Even though he was able to make top defenders look lost, he was respected by those he played against in a way very few others have been. If only he'd taken the game more seriously there would have been no doubt that he was the best ever, but to do so would have changed how he played. Interestingly he was not a serious trainer!!! That alone must have been a nightmare for his manager. In the end he was allowed to play his way and the other team members "fitted in" around his plays. I think it was his approach to the game and the fact that he was always smiling because he enjoyed what he did that gained him respect for fellow professionals. Finally, he played for Barcelona and they have a fierce rivalry with Real Madrid. Supporters for each team are quite vocal in their support, but he was actually applauded by Real Madrid supporters when he single-handedly took their team apart at the Bernabéu Stadium. This has not happened before or since. A true recognition of his appeal as a player.

If the ball hits below the sleeve line on the bicep, it's usually a handball. Ref decides if accidental or not. 85%/90% of the time the ref will give a free kick or if it happens inside the 'keepers box' it could be a penalty to the opposing team depending on which team is guilty of the offence.

There are plenty of people here that watched the game all their life but can't. They simply don't see it, they just watch the ball go left and right whilst drooling.

There was a game once with Barcelona (Ronaldinhos former club) vs Real Madrid (the one, where Cristiano Ronaldo used tp play), where Ronaldinho made a Hat-Trick (Scored 3 goals) and the Real Madrid fans gave him a standing applause for the perfomance. That barely happened again, cause of the tension and rivalry. Ronaldinho is and Outstanding Brazilian magician.

I was right behind the ball at Fratton park for one of those free kicks you saw, my team Portsmouth were winning 2-1 when Ronaldinho smashed in that last minute free kick to draw the match 2-2. Amazing player, who described our fans atmosphere after that match as "The best in world football"

At the end the crazy part is not his tekkers (the keep up shit), it's the fact that he pinged it off the crossbar to himself multiple times, returned with perfect control etc. It's fucking insane. One of the best technical footballers ever.

Ronaldinho was an insanely talented and fun player to watch. He was one of those players who made you choose between your favorite team or a champions league match with him in it. Sadly it was only a few of those prime years. His carreer and life suffered from his social surroundings. Him being not the brightest bulb in the bulb in the basket, and people taking advantage according to tv documentaries. Specially his criminal brother dragged him deep into the hole. I have several dvd collections of players I grew up watching and admired. He is one of them.
You are absolutely right there are things in football far more interesting and exiting then just the goals. Sure that is the explosion where is all comes together. But for me, I love watching the really skilled players, they don't even need to score a lot of goals. It is how they handle the ball. How they set up a counter attack. Put their team on the front foot by a single dicision. Their first touch, seeing openings and handeling accordingly just a fraction sooner then other players. The players that know when to accelerate and when to slow down the pace of the game.
It is the kind of players playing with their heads up, knowing what the ball does out of pure instinct, and looking around them. Seeing everything. Knowing where the ball is at all times. It can be any position. A pass, a dribble, a tackle. As long as it is done with accuracy and finesse. And you know the that player did it with purpose and can do that same thing again. These players are rare. Youngsters playing Fifa tend to scream at every talent it is the next this or that. It does not happen. A player that changes and reinvents the game like Pele, Platini or Cruyff or Beckenbauer stands up once in a generation, if that. But when they do, be shure to enjoy it. Because that is football magic.
Maybe it could interest you to take a look at European fanbases and the stadiums. The marches, the choreos of the fanbases around big derby games and champions league games, they are insane and a thing to behold. I was on the Gelbe Wand at Borussia Dortmund for many years. Sadly I got disabled by a car accident. But those where without a doubt in my mind, the best times of my life. If you ever get the chance. Go and experience it for yourself. Love the videos man. Great vibe.

The adrenaline rush when scoring is a good observation. Football/Soccer is a low scoring game, where 1:1, 2:1, 1:0 etc. are common results after 90 minutes. That is why goals are so meaningful and make players and fans go crazy. At the same time, creating a goal when the ball is in the middle of the field can generally happen within 10 seconds at any point. This creates a constant tension despite the low amount of goals in total.
Also, because single goals can decide matches it is more likely that the underdog wins than in a high scoring game like basketball, just because he was lucky once.
This adds to the tension even when one team is much better on paper. Especially in the Cups, where low division teams get to play the 1st division teams, there are regularly big surprises and beautiful stories written, when an underdog manages to knock out the big boys :)

Players like Ronaldinho are one in a million talents. There are many well talented players but he easily is my top 10 of all times. Great ball conrol 2nd to none, someone you could see having fun with the game. Unfortunately also loved partying more and more and even though he was one of the most unique talents became unbearable for the club. But he will always be remembered as one of the greates football players who ever graced us with their skills.

Its 2002, i’m 14 years old and its the peak of summer in the UK and the World Cup is in full swing…
Me and lads every lunchtime would play football completely negating food and would try to imitate the “flip-flap” in our Kickers… desperately trying “nut-megs” and blind passes… we were in love! Scorpion football was the big rage and we all wanted to be like that magician we saw on television at weekend…
And then it happened… England pull Brazil in the Quarterfinals and the entire country is buzzing!
Not only was everyone obsessed with Brazilian football on its own merit… Ronaldinho was who we all wanted to watch… the game was during school hours but the headteacher allowed us all to watch it in the school hall…
He butchered us… i was devastated… he completely embarrassed us and put on a performance i think everyone who watched that match will remember… he finished the game off by scoring that goal @7.00 to knock is out of the tournament…
It was on this day I knew… England are absolutely S**t at football and are never going to win a trophy in my lifetime 😝
    Thanks Ronaldinho… 😂
