My favorite lyrics in the song is when in the beginning, she says "you can close your eyes" and by the end of the song, her last line "by the time you open your eyes, everything will be fine". I CRIED

Im Not a red velvet fan. But This is One Of the best solo release’s In Kpop. Wendy’s solo is a song I treasure.

I still can't understand how there were people that were disappointed by this song. They were unhappy that she gave us a ballad. I mean, it's Wendy! Ballads are her strength. I don't get it.
"Like Water" definitely has that feeling of healing, assurance that things will be fine from now on. While "When This Rain Stops" digs that pain in your heart you never knew existed and helps you to overcome it.
The message of When This Rain Stops is soooo powerful.

People seems to forget that at some point after her injury, Reveluv was in the dark about the severity of her injury, and whether she will be able to dance like she used to. I downloaded Like Water the day it was released in 2021. Every song on that album is beautiful. Wendy has a beautiful, powerful voice.
This has been my comfort song since its release. The things that happened leading up to this release was a rollercoaster. There were happy moments but it was mostly filled with sadness. This song in particular with her When This Rain Stop was what brought me up from that dark phase.

Objectively, I know this isn't a song that I love or that I'll listen to very often, but to me, the beauty of the song is in how Wendy's voice can convey and induce such emotion. Even though it's not my fave song, listening to her makes me teary-eyed, and I'm always surprised when I realize she can make me cry just with her voice.
