This song is so iconic. When SM released teasers for this, other companies postponed their groups’ comebacks that we’re supposed release around the same time.

damn I remember that era... even if all the other companies delayed their artists comebacks they couldn't beat Girls Generation on music shows for 6 straight weeks.

this song was basically them calling out the other groups at the time who were mainly all bgs in the industry and this was so huge as soon as the teasers for this was dropped groups postponed their own comebacks

I remember before boys was released how other companies literally postpone their comebacks even boygroups... and they literally raised bar even more for all of them after this. omg they used to rule kpop! QUEENS!
The way the second chorus is the choreo for the first chorus but backwards gives me life every time.

GIRLS GENERATION Are The Legendary Goddesses Of Kpop, they marked a before and after in kpop, GG completely dominated in an era where Boy Groups were more loved and accepted, literally ALL companies postponed the Comebacks of their idols for fear of compete against them, that had never happened in kpop!
This song is so empowering, the lyrics, the rhythm, their voices and the concept is unmatched, The Boys was the best-selling album in kpop, defeating male groups and taking the best awards of the year as Artist of the Year at the MAMA, Song of the year, Album of the Year and Best Girl Group at SBS MTV best of the best

oh god i truly did not expect this but snsd is the all-time nation girl group and honestly the first ever group that got me into kpop back in 2013! truly a legendary group.
This song actually had a mixed reception at the time when it was released. But over time, it grew to be one of SNSDs most popular songs. They all did well, but I personally think this was Sooyoung and Jessica's era.

As you say, Girls' Generation is 'QUEEN'. Furthermore, it is 'LEGEND'. You can understand the meaning of 3rd & 4th generation female artists having respect. This song that Teddy Riley made is wonderful, and it's great that the members of Girls' Generation express themselves with dignity. They appeared on the David Letterman Show with this song, but it's a pity that it didn't get much recognition in The United States of America.

Omg so nostalgic! I still remember sitting in the school bus back home and watching the downloaded mv on my phone with my ex-bestfriend! Best times!
I forgot the meaning or message of this song, but SNSD are already Kpop royalties because of multiple song hits and awards at that time, so some fans jokingly said that "girls, bring the boys out" are like taunting the other boy groups to bring it on. 😋
To reach the legendary status, SNSD / Girls' Generation have been very busy performing song hits, promoting (via tv, radio & social media), guiding and supporting newer groups (boys and girls), contributing to Korea's culture and basically doing a HUGE impact to Kpop😎.
This MV was the first Kpop MV I watched. The audiovisual impact is so strong that I almost pass out. Girls Generation is iconic! BTW I miss when girl groups wore heels...
