Knowing everything she’s gone through this past year, this song means a lot especially knowing she dedicated this song to her fans. Also about her vocals, wendy is really well known to be one of the best idol vocalists ever, arguably the best 3rd generation female vocalist so her being able to showcase her technique that she can’t otherwise really show in red velvets title tracks, is really refreshing to hear.
What has she gone through this past year ?
@@midapita she was in a horrible accident back in December 2019 and it took her a whole year of recovery to be able to go back on stage

When This Rain Stops, Wendy's 2nd title track, also showcases her vocal prowess. I believe it's an even more technically difficult and intricate song compared to Like Water and the lyrics are very poignant and pulls at the heartstrings. It doesn't have an MV (yet?) but please consider giving it a listen even if it's only on your own time. Also, the rest of the songs in the mini album are so so so good, one of the songs even features a duet with Seulgi.

This song sound like it's easy to sing because the way she sang it, so clear and effortless but when I tried singing along, I realized that I'm not Wendy so it's impossible.
The fact that this is still not her full range, shes just saving her highest note.

You should also listen to her When this rain stops, it's a title track of her fist solo mini-album. It's a masterpiece. The melody and her vocal technique and executions there was intricate and powerful. It has balance between technicalities and emotions.

This song means a lot to her and the fans after all the she's been through.
After she got into that bad accident, there was a lot of uncertainty if she will ever be able to come back, if she'd be able to perform again. She's so strong to be able to get through such life changing accident, and coming back better than ever. I'm just happy we get to see her again.
She said that the key lyric is 'Thank you for believing in me' and it hits really hard tbh. This debut is a thank you for the fans who believed in her and stayed by her through that time
