    Skip Raffles Hotel and goto Atlas Bar instead. The interior is beautiful and it is an actual bar and not a tourist attraction that serves pre mixed drinks. Just a short walk up to Hadji Lane after that.

      Hi. Thank you. This is always a hard part of my videos. Whilst I feel I do more research and give more info about an area we visit compared to the average travel UA-camr, I am always aware I’m not the History Channel and ultimately this is UA-cam and for entertainment and people looking to go on holiday. So compromise has to be made…
      We did visit little India after our walk around Glam and originally it was included in the script. However it got cut for time reasons (about 25% of each script gets cut for most videos). Also, because little India wasn’t part of the Jackson Plan which neatly tied those areas around Glam together, which I found really interesting, it just felt like it was slowing down the first chapter, pacing wise, if I then talked about little India separately.
      Also, this video is showing what a 3 day trip to Singapore would look like. Since it was a bit further away, practically I wouldn’t 100% suggest a tourist visit little India for the time it takes to get there. That’s why at the end of the video I show what a 4th day would like look and include shots from little India. I mention the area in part 2 of the video if you have more time.
      Hopefully that helps explain my thought process at least. Thanks again.

    I have been to Singapore 3 times and loved it. Done all the main sites there and is one of my favourite cities that I have been to along with KL, Bangkok and more

      Haha shows the low standards we have reached when correct info is all we desire. Haha. But thank you it’s appreciated

      @@SuitcaseMonkey that is true. I happened to view another video about Singapore recently, and discovered so many distorted articles and even footages of other countries to describe street food in Little India and shop houses in Chinatown!
      It really looked like an AI generated video.

      To be fair, they possibly were. Watching other people’s travel videos (often with more views) can be annoying when the host clearly has little experience of being there and it’s just copied generic text. Oh well.

    Absolutely love your videos, and it's so endearing to know that all the footage is shot on iPhone, something accessible that we can learn to do!

    Superb, as usual! Enjoyed this very much. Question - Taipei or Singapore if you had to choose one?

    • @SuitcaseMonkey
      @SuitcaseMonkey  8 місяців тому +1

      Oh yikes. Totally different trips. I know if I had to visit one again it would be Taipei as it’s a larger country so much more to discover whereas Singapore we hit most of the main spots (tho obviously more to see) and it was expensive so you’re money doesn’t go as far

    How did you film that with such clarity with an iPhone, it’s amazing

    Thanks for your reviews. Convinced us to go. Great family holiday. The locals are so polite and helpful and the service nearly everywhere was second to none. We found the prices were pretty comparable to here in Australia (except the camera lens I bought which was $400 cheaper!!!). Take lots of SD cards!!! So much to photograph.
