- Spring prep continues with some much needed repairs and maintenance to our fleet. We install a new CASE IH rockshaft in a Flex Hoe 700 as well as replace all 70 boots. If you are in need of parts make sure to stop by your local CASE IH dealer and get them ordered!

Watching The Big Buds moving down the road is a site that no other equipment looks like . I believe your family operates the coolest tractors ever built. Prayers for goid rain and conditions for this year's crop .
reminds me of the the ole "elephant walks" when i lived next to Davis Monthan AFB and they would line up and walk the big ole C130s down the runway for airshows.
And when one of those Buds gets stuck, it's Yankum Rope's Basilisk to do the job.

It never struck me how big the Big Buds are until I saw the Little Bud pulling that cart & drill combo. Wow.
Those Big Buds are a testament to basic [almost Brutalist] industrial design: power plant, wheels, cab, attachment. Truly 'no-frills' and get the job done. That you have a fleet of them is wonderful. Good work guys.
The first one(s) were built in the day when things were made to last. Note how thick the frame is.
Scott has repaired or replaced a lot of its parts but the frame stays the same.

Here's a little Farmer Tech Tip, If your Roll-Pins are falling out, or the hole is loose, drive a nail or a piece of a used up welding rod inside the Roll-Pin. Roll-Pins are hollow, and they just aren't the quality they used to be, so I do it as a safety keeper even under new conditions just in case.

I drove 1 of the first generation Big Buds out here in California around 1975, 76. Air bag brakes, 350 Cummins, 13 speed Roadranger. Quite the machine in rolling hills around Shandon, CA
If they are ever smart enough to put on an awards show like the Emmies ( the Yoummies?), between your personalities, your ethic and the breathtaking vistas and operations you capture with your drone, you guys would need to get tuxes for you guys and name-brand slinky gowns for your awards!😊

Replacing that Rock shaft was a heavy duty job. Can see why with the old one bent the seeder did not work properly. The new rock shaft brings everything back into alignment and working properly. Yeah!!! Am sure that piece was not cheap. Real heavy duty piece there. Glad you had the crane to lift it into place.
Now if I understand correctly, you just have to replace the pins that holds the knifes into place on the shaft, then you are ready to go.
Lots of Welker work getting the seeder back into shape and ready to do its job.

Things are coming together for you guys. I suppose You are really thinking about getting seeding, if you aren't all ready seeding a little. Some guys were getting going on beets and corn here in Central Minnesota. We were about to, but it rained almost 2inches. And the temperature is dropping off. It's plenty early yet for us.
Big Sky country is certainly a sight to enjoy.

Make a bar so you can pull both drills at the same time from one tractor, would be a good test for a 715, 3630, custom big bud, or other large new tractor..

We are getting all your rain here in the UK, its been one of the wettest autumns and springs since I was small we really have not seen any sun. Winter crops are drowned out. The weather people say for 18 Months, I am now 74 and birthday in April I know it was wet in 1955 when i started school , and we had some wet harvests in that period.
Thanks for the laugh guys, had a booger of an afternoon, short version, tractor i spent couple months rebuilding due to front frame casting breaking just did the same thing, might be a fault in the pivot pins on the front axle but anyhoo, thanks
