I think i'd wear an spf 50 chemical underneath. And wear this product more as a makeup.
You look lovely! Even if one can apply enough to get the stated SPF though, then the price becomes an issue at $32 an ounce. That's a pretty standard mid/higher end foundation price, but out of line with even high end sunscreens--Undefined Beauty's R&R Sun Serum is $28/ ounce, and ISDIN is around $20 or $21/oz. It's one thing to pay a lot for a foundation, where you may only use a few drops. But at nearly a quarter teaspoon per sunscreen application, that 30ml won't last long. I'd rather use a little bit layered over another mineral sunscreen, as you've done here.
I agree, if properly used as sunscreen, this is going to last about a month. So for that price, as a sunscreen it's a no.

I was so happy to see this pop up in my feed! I was literally just searching yesterday to see if you'd reviewed this already and I'd somehow missed it.
I've been using it for a few weeks now and am loving it! I have very finicky skin that can easily look dry with most foundations, and I hate heavy coverage so I usually go for tinted moisturizers, but they can often be slippery, too shiny, and not have enough coverage. The struggle is real 😂
But the Tower 28 is awesome on my skin! I love the serum texture and how it makes my skin look and feel hydrated. It has more coverage than most tinted moisturizers but I am able to pretty easily control the amount (I like to apply with fingers and then use a sponge to smooth over it).
I do experience some transferring if I'm impatient and don't let my sunscreen dry all the way before applying, but otherwise I find it dries down and stays put, which is good seeing as how we're going into summer. Most of all, I like that it gives a nice glowy-ish look without being straight up greasy, since matte finishes don't work on my skin but most tinted moisturizers seem to make me look like a greaseball.

Did you get the samples through the company or Sephora? I always end up with the wrong shade 🤦♀️
Through Sephora (where I often do get the wrong shade too - but this time both orders I picked this one for gave me the right one... though my guess is this was probably the only sample of theirs so it couldn't get mixed up).
This is my favorite!!! I pretty much wear it on the daily! I typically wear a physical sunscreen before applying, bc I don’t think I would get enough sunscreen since I like light coverage. I wear Melrose as well and I’m light neutral ~ cool. It’s definitely not too warm! I’m glad you like it too! I did stock up on it during the VIB sale. 🤩

I just picked up the Guerlain foundation and it is one of THE most beautiful I have ever used.
The full review will post May 19 but spoiler........ the Guerlain is amazing. It may be the first to tie Nars Light Reflecting for me (the only foundation I've ever scored 100%).
I don't think Tower 28 is a Canadian brand, just manufactured in Canada. And at that price, few Canadians will try it, it will end up being almost $60 per 30mls. Yikes!!!
Hate that monoi scent. Love the Tower 28 sunny days though! I wear an additional sunscreen before applying.

I started using this product a couple of months ago and I really like it!
I was just at Sephora yesterday looking for a tinted moisturizer. Tried Bare Minerals. It’s really nice, but now I’m going to go back and get a sample of Tower 28. It’s amazing how well it wore! The Bare Minerals, at least on my skin, pooped out a little too early.
I wore this one yesterday to a humid outdoor vendor event where I got sweaty setting up, and it held up great, too! It's not hot here yet but it was humid and rainy around 79F.
Looks awesome! I’m definitely ordering!!!! I think I am 20 Mullholland. I’m a bit darker than you. I have been hearing so many great things about Tower 28.
I liked the coverage and feel, but ended up with polka dot pores by hour 4 😢
I've heard that from a few people now - good to note. I haven't had that happen yet on me but it doesn't happen all that often on me anyway.

this reminds me of the tinted hydrator from WNW ❤ as fas as Tower 28 brand I have the contour/bronzer and I love it, I live in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and it’s melting hot 🥵 temp approved 😊

⭐️😻 Cat hair Remover Tip: If you have a blowdryer with a high blast you can use that on your face after your makeup is done to blow off cotton fibers or little cat hairs- preferably on cool setting.
If the finish was really glowy and tacky then it might not work as well.

Been using the Paulas Choice Super Light Wrinkle Defense for years but I'm ALWAYS on the look out for another tinted sunscreen (because I like to try new things). Like the look of this one but just can't seem to find anywhere that will ship it to NZ.

My dehydrated but combo skin didn't like this sadly, I tried it a few months ago and was so excited about it. But midday it would just move all around my face and would even wipe away! 😭 So I'm still on the hunt for a tined moisturizer/easy daily product. Also I loooove your eye makeup, absolutely gorgeous! 💕
Unfortunately this problem is endemic with tinted inorganic filter sunscreens (I've been testing them for decades) and I was waiting for Shelley to run into the same issue. I am shocked it looked decent and stayed in one place on her skin.
I had the same sample packet of this Tower product, applied the U.S. tested standard amount to get the advertised SPF (1/4 teaspoon), and had the same exact problems with this product as the vast majority of tinted "mineral" sunscreens. The mineral filters are highly reflective to begin and, to combat their drying qualities, manufacturers load up the rest of the ingredients list with highly emollient and smear- y ingredients.
The result is an uber-shiny, highly smeary face that is not fit for public airing. No amount of setting powder mitigates this. It breaks up on the skin instantly and the merest brush of one's hair or hand leaves you looking like you lost a chunk of greasy skin.
I don't believe there's a way to fix this and still keep such high levels of inorganic filters. This is the nature of the beast.
I trust Shelley but am mystified how she didn't encounter the tinted mineral SS monster.

Greetings my friend! Beauteous! I love it and most likely will order it. Did you get it in the same shade? In October I’ll be on a cruise to Hawaii. I’m not used to humidity. I’m planning to do a tinted SPF in the daytime. Even with my dry skin, I can visualize a hot mess with my foundation running down my face. Do you think this will hold up? I did end up getting this same shade 15 Melrose in the full size - and I'm glad I did. The full size does seem a smidge lighter than the sample, which is good because I feel like the sample was a smidge dark, but I'm also hoping to wear it for summer so I will get a little sun on my arms I'm sure. An earlier comment said this holds up great to the heat and humidity in Puerto Rico, so I am optimistic!!

Gosh Shelly that looked fabulous. A bit too dark for you I think but it looked so good. I've heard a lot of other youtubers talk about Tower 28 and in particular their blushes seem to be impressing people. On the subject of blushes, have you tried Kjaer Weiss? Ooooh they're pricey. I watched a video from Lisa J a few weeks ago - foundation for dry mature skin I think it was. Anyway she provided a link for a sample set from them. Includes a blush, highlight and a little sachet of their primer. Just under $5 for the three samples. Mine arrived today. It's all cream. They're lovely. When I stuck my finger in the blush I went "oooh". Just felt so lux. Thought I'd mention it in case you hadn't tried them and wanted to take advantage of that price. I went on their website and typed in sample and nothing came up so you might have to go to Lisa's video to get the link there. I could have copied it here but don't know how you would feel about that so.... Anyways, it's half 1 in the am here in Ireland as I watch so time for me to go get ready for bed too. Goodnight world. I haven't tried Kjaer Weiss but you know I love a good "ooooh!" experience! 😂 I literally have a list in my notes under your name of things you're recommending - I need to get to buying!! That sample pack sounds like a great deal. I'm on it!!! I just finished my Ireland to-do list yesterday and now all that's left is to count down until takeoff 😀 My co-director has never been to Ireland before so it will be the most fun showing him all of my favorite stomping grounds. We'll be mostly in Galway this time with a day trip to Dublin and 5 days up in Derry.
@@goow The sample pack was such a good bargain I just had to. And it's my first ever cream blush. I love Galway. We're talking about hitting it this year ourselves maybe for the arts festival. Have you visited the markets on Shop Street and if so have you tried the crepes? They're gorgeous. I lived in Galway for three and a half years and loved every minute of it.

After watching the review for the Kosas foundation and this, I’m debating between the two. If you had to choose one over the other, which would you pick?
Gosh it's close - Kosas has the leg-up in winter because I'm super-dry and it's a little bit more hydrating, but I don't think you can go wrong either way and the rest of the year it's a toss-up.
Kindly tell me what you like better the tinted hydrator by wet & wild or this one and why?🎉🎉🎉 Also what powder would you suggest to send it with so it doesn't crust up ?🎉🎉🎉
I'd decide by coverage - the WnW is a smidge higher coverage than the Tower 28. Also if SPF is a desire, the WnW does not have any SPF. I've been loving the new Jones Road tinted face powder but I usually don't set either one of these!

This one has a smidge more coverage I'd say than the Slip Tint. I'm actually curious to combine them since I wear sunscreen underneath anyway.
Are there any tinted sunscreens from YesStyle that you like?
The only one I’ve found is the Numbuzin, which I LOVE, but it’s too fair for most people. Have you found any?

I could not agree more with the whole sample thing! I always get so frustrated when I pick a foundation sample that I really want to try but all I get is a TINY dot of the product that wouldn't even be usable as concealer to try it out! You can literally just use it to see the shade! Which I would NOT call a sample! It's so cheap and ridiculous! I thought samples were made for us to be able to try the product at least once, not just look at the shade because all that does it make it so that we have to buy it and then just return it if it doesn't work, which is a massive waste. Tower28 is the best!! And their Sunnydays foundation is such an amazing product for my super dry eczema prone skin 🤎

I ended up buying this same shade 15 Melrose! Comparing it to the sample I think the full size might even be a tiny smidge lighter than the sample which ended up being perfect because my thought was that the sample was just a tiny smidge too dark. I didn't want to swing too far the other way if the next lighter shade was a big jump, so I'm glad I went with Melrose.

It's a shame that the SPF is only a 30. I don't know why they can't make it a 50.

(I'll tell mom, too!!) =D I do wish this was an SPF 50 because it's such a perfect summer foundation, and now that I've been playing with the full size, it takes well to slathering it on and still looks like foundation - so if it was 50 I could save myself a step in the morning. As is, I'll just keep applying my usual sunscreen in my skin care then this on top. But doggone, it's pretty! I was not expecting this one to be so foundation-like.

this tinted sunscreen's one of my favorites of all times, I do wear my regular sunscreen underneath...
