@@busta2k Hi, the sound became a little better and clearer with zendac v2, also there is a rly cool function with bass boost, but I don't use it that often, mostly in movies. Super content anyway as always! Lately I've been wondering if the new model that Fiio K7 released will be a good competitor to Fifi Zen dac V2 in the context of gaming. Such DT 900 Pro X will be better as a combo with the new Fiio K7 or still iFi Zen V2 or dx3 pro+ will be a better option? What do you guys think?
I’ve personally treated them on the ifi zen dac v2 and they worked well together I haven’t tested them in the dx3 or fiio but technically speaking they should be ok 👌🏽
@@FreshReviewsYT Thanks for the quick answer. They have similar prices that's why I'm asking which will be the best under gaming. K7 looks very pleasant. Technically looking at it on paper it performs very well! Much better than the aforementioned two.
Hey man, is that a topping e50 and l50 stack? I was looking into grabbing the dt 900 pro x and an e50 + l50 stack for gaming and music. Would you recommend?
@@FreshReviewsYTJust watched your review of the hd490 pro plus which was very compelling and now im torn haha. I wont be getting a dx9 but i’ll try the topping e50 l50 stack with the 900 pro x and the hd490s and see which ones i prefer. Appreciate the reply and if i remember i’ll comment here with an update
@@T6Wiehl Went with the topping dx3 pro+ and the dt 900 pro x which were very easy to set up and sound really good. The sound is sterile and clear, no pronounced bass or muddiness etc. its just clean, so much so that you can practically pick apart whatever you're listening to if that makes sense. Great listening experience so far in both music and games. Very easy to single out different sounds and tell their direction when playing games. Highly recommend downloading Peace equalizer and using the oratory1990 equalizer settings for the dt 900 pro x, it makes it sound better imo. Didn't try the topping e50 l50 stack or hd490s in the end.
Yea the differences probably come more so by the way of the amp, with increased Power levels feeling a little cleaner IMO. Dacs are so good now it’s really more about the headphones. Obviously you want a DAC with good components though
I would rather recommend this or dongles like hiby fc3 or over any gaming sound card since software can be overwhelming for so many functions. I use to love soundblaater sound cards when i played CS 1.6, and now i just try to get the most out of my audio, the cheaper the better. Qudelix 5K and hd560s on 2.5mm keeps my desk pretty clean since it has a mic so i dont need to get another one.
Hey boss! Is this still a solid recommendation in 2022 for someone that primarily plays Valorant with a HD560s? Or do you have any other DACs that you recommend? Love the content!
Hey Fresh Reviews, so I need a mixamp/dac (idk the difference). I'm looking to play on Xbox and use a headset and get game audio and discord audio simultaneously through the same headset. I was told on Reddit I'd need a mixamp/dac to make that possible. I was told to get an Astro mixamp pro TR, it has an optical and AUX, which I both need. But I can't find any tier lists in which the Astro mixamp is included. So I was wondering maybe I should get a better amp/dac instead of the Astro amp. Let me know. I'm new to this, so I need some help. Thanks.
Hi man how to use both ifi zen can and zen dac v2 stacked (together) how to combine them i mean what cables do i have to connect can you please guide me tnx
BadSeed Tech mentioned several headphones that the iFI Zen DAC v2 could handle and I didn't really follow all of them as he said, so I was wondering if you might know if it can handle the Sennheiser HD600S2?
Im going to buy DT 1990 pro cause i will use it for music/movies too, for that headphones do you still recommend the ifi zen? is the topping difference worth the price?
Do you play any games that require positional audio, ie footsteps above & behind you, that playing in surround affects it negatively? Or are games 'surround-ready' like that, and / or it makes positional even better? Thanks
So I just ordered the Zen dac V2, do I use the balanced port with my Arete fresh reviews or the larger port? Also does it come with the required adapters? 😮
Hey Fresh! Do you think my Sennheiser HD 560s (with the ABLET Boom microphone cable ) would work with the iFI Zen Dac V2 if I connect it with 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter? I hope you could answer my question. Many thanks :)
Hey Fresh, have you found that the Power Match kind of amplifies Music perhaps a bit too much and do you notice these same kinds of things in regards to Apex with the DT 900 Pro's? I think I prefer music with power match off and just blasting the volume dial but not sure how I feel about Apex with this as I played one day without power match and one with it on so figured I would see your thoughts.
Hey man, love the videos you've completely changed my mindset about "Gaming Headsets". I'm thinking of getting the DT 900 pro but i'm not sure what mic to get with it? Or if I should spend the extra cash on getting the iFi Zen Dav v2 as well. What's your opinion?

Hi @Fresh Reviews. I was looking at some of your reviews today. I play competitive Valorant and I am looking for new headphones. I have now decided on the DT 900 Pro x in combination with the iFi Zen Dac V2. However, I am now missing a mic. Can you recommend me one, which I can possibly attach to the DT 900 Pro x or should I even take a table microphone ?
I actually prefer the table top microphones. I really enjoy the elgato wave 3 which is also what i have been using recently to record my voice for the reviews
@@FreshReviewsYT no troubles while playing competitive ? I'm kind of afraid that the mic will get in the way. Possibly the best solution would be with a microphone arm ?
@@TheRaphinho Hey! Definitely a microphone arm. I actually didn't have a problem with it sitting on my desk off to the right, to the right of my mousepad. But I ended up getting an arm for it. Much cleaner
@@FreshReviewsYT yeah, will buy the elgato wave 3 with the elgato microphone arm low profile. I can position this arm very centrally under my monitor (which is also on a monitor arm) and then place the mic right in front of me. Think this is the best solution. The arm is then exactly between the keyboard and my mousepad and does not bother me at all.
Hey, I have two questions: 1.I was thinking to buy HD560S for Warzone (Sadly no DT 900 Pro X and DT 700 Pro X in my country). Do you recommend something else, or this is the one? 2.I ordered AE-5 Plus (DAC/AMP) today for 50$ although I'm not sure how good it is. Do you recommend me to get iFI Zen Dac V2 or Schiit Hel instead?
@@FreshReviewsYT I found out the price will be almost 300$ to my country. So, I have three other options: 1.ifi Zen Dac V2 (220 USD) 2.Fiio K5 Pro (60 USD, used) 3.AE-5 Plus (136 USD) What do you think? Another thing, is that I probably going to buy hifiman sundara
@@DanielMichael01 If you are going to get the Sundara, I would probably go for the ifi zen dac v2. I'm fairly certain it will power them. The Sundara definitely requires juice
question, if your headset is plugged to an amp/dac like this. The mic that you are using can plug right into your mobo and function without any grounding issue right? Or do you have an amp for that as well. (very new to this)
So if you want an amp dac with a mic input i recommend a different app/dac. Maybe the mayflower arc v2. But you could technically put another cable into the mobo Yea. You’d just have to select it as the communication device
Have you tried GSX 1000? woundering if the ifi is an worthy upgrade (sidegrade?) the reason i'm asking is that i have 30 day return policy on my GSX wich i got for $130 on sale. I upgraded from a Behringer Xenyx302USB mixer and the sound quality difference has substansial. Will the upgrade from gsx to a ifi or equivalent topping (dx3pro+) be woth the price difference too you? subjective i know :)
Is there a difference in audio quality when using the 6.3mm input vs the 3.5mm input? The 900pro x’s come with a 6.3mm input on the end of the 3.5mm input but the mayflower arc 2 only has a 3.5mm input. Does having the ability to use the 6.3mm input sound any better than a 3.5mm input?
@@user-hd2ex9tl8q you have to connect the dac to the ps5 via usb. It works perfect. Just need to make sure you have the latest firmware on the ifi zen dac
@@FreshReviewsYT I bought a cable that forces UAC2 to UAC2, do you think it would make the dx3 pro work on ps5? I also plan to use it with raptors or should I just stick with buying zen dac v2?
I also have the kiwi orchestra lite like other had said, since that uses 3.5 plus should i go with the topping? or would these still work better with a converter for the input jacks?
Wouldnt the schiit Hel be right up your alley too? seems like it hits a lot of your preference, very simple no bs presets, and it has mic gain. Have you done a review on it?
So if im playing call of duty, do i use the power match button so its on? "white light" or off? I'm having a hard time hearing footsteps in Black ops 6 using this with HD560S headset. I use my volume dial at about 1 o'clock position with windows volume at 100. Tips? thanks

Topping L50 and E50!
Do you need a IEM with a 4.4mm or do you just use an adapter? Just starting to learn about audio
Hi Fresh, i would like to ask how do you connect the ifi dac or your e50/l50 stack to a audio interface in order to use a xlr mic
I wanna know this as well.
You would need a separate audio interface to do this.
Look into the Motu M2. It does everything the zen dac does but better and has an awesome mic preamp.
It's headphone amp is not as powerful, but most people greatly exaggerate how much power is needed to run headphones.

Also how you feel about the sound blaster g6??? Cause at the moment I own that combo g6+hd600 or am I missing out going 560s with another Dac??? Thoughts 😊?
I prefer the 560s for competitive
Awesome vid, Fresh!
I recently purchased a DT 900 Pro X and it sounds great, but I'm trying to figure out how much better they sound with an iFi Zen DAC V2 compared to the stock motherboard port (I have z790 Tomahawk). In competitive games, it's hard to tell where footsteps are coming from, how many enemies around me, etc. I tried the Oratory1990 EQ preset, it's better, but still lacks important details in games. Could you please describe your audio experience using iFi compared to the motherboard port? Thanks!
Hey, I also just got DT 900 Pro X I'm having the same issue. What did you end up doing, did the iFi Zen DAC V2 help? thanks
@@busta2k Hi, the sound became a little better and clearer with zendac v2, also there is a rly cool function with bass boost, but I don't use it that often, mostly in movies. For me the zendac improved the sound quality by 10-15% compared to the motherboard port, but that's all subjective. If you have a chance to compare different DACs in the store, it's best to do so.

Nice, happy to hear that!
Does the sound change much? To be honest, while the dt900 sound good, I got kind of disappointed when I plugged in to my computer... Felt the sound was not what people describe as "great sound separation and soundstage, open sound, clarity,...". I felt it a little muddy (I think that is the term...), and not much of an upgrade from my old hyperX cloud alpha. Better, but disappointed.
Did you got the "wow" factor when you plugged in the Zen? How would you describe what you gain with the Zen?
Thanks a lot for any reply and clarification mate!

Hi again Fresh! I saw you responded to someone in the comment saying "No Spatial audio" are you saying the iFI Zen Dac V2 doesn't support spatial audio like dolby or DTS? If it doesn't will you say we are missing a lot in terms of competitive advantage for accurate footsteps positions?
And is there any DAC or Audio interface that supports spatial audio Dolby or DTS? because i'm yet to find any and it seems like no one is really bothered.
It does support it. I don’t use it. I test everything and play in straight stereo

Hey Fresh! Im new to your channel and DAC stuff. I have the SB G6 and mainly play FPS games, R6 Siege / BF / Unreal. Would the zen dac v2 be better or considered an upgrade over the G6 ?
I didn’t like the g6 personally

Could try the gunnr as well. Pretty solid despite the gimmick sound stage dial
@FreshReviewsYT thanks so much for your reply! Unfortunately I can't get the gunnr since I live in Europe so I think my options are the Ifi zen V2/V3 or the smsl C200/DL200, there's other options like the Fiio K7 or the Topping Dx3 Pro+ but i really don't know what to pick, i just wanna buy something once for gaming and forget about it

@@minusformat3102 what was your experience?
Which firmware are you using? I'm using 7.3 and it doesn't register on my PS5. Though if I use 7.3c it works.
6:30 comparing the zen/dac to topping ensemble, the sound is minutely higher quality?
zen/dac sounds like a steal compared to the the ensembleL50 lol
Yea the differences probably come more so by the way of the amp, with increased
Power levels feeling a little cleaner IMO.
Yea it’s should be solid for the price
Woah thanks for the response! If you had to choose, would you choose the zen dac or the toppings dx3pro+
I needed more power for mine with the topping but there are probably a ton of less expensive amp/dac combos. Schitt stacks are great and smsl
You should try out the Sennheiser(EPOS) GSX 1000. I've used it for 4 years now, and it's really hard for me to play on stereo now.
Do you play any games that require positional audio, ie footsteps above & behind you, that playing in surround affects it negatively? Or are games 'surround-ready' like that, and / or it makes positional even better? Thanks
@JB bro, that's a dissertation
Hi fresh, would you review the 3 gen of the zen dac and compere to v2 ? That would be great 🎯
Hello, where did you bough your Topping e50 + L50 please ? Thanks

Using Arete fresh reviews IEM’s
Haven’t used the ae5 in forever. I would say something like the topping dx3 pro + would be a decent test subject for you to see if you get gains
So I just ordered the Zen dac V2, do I use the balanced port with my Arete fresh reviews or the larger port?
Also does it come with the required adapters? 😮
Have you tried or heard about an amp + apple dongle DAC? I kind of have a lower budget and was wondering how they against ifi zen dac.

Will the upgrade from gsx to a ifi or equivalent topping (dx3pro+) be woth the price difference too you? subjective i know :)
I don’t quite like the gsx. I like flat sound profiles and not the preset profiles
