- Today we go through the newest half of the fun farm designs and check how well they work in the newest Minecraft versions.
With a few positive surprises most of the designs that should be working are still working.
All fixed world downloads with updated notes could be found under each fun farms video. Here is a complete fun farms playlist:

I love how your commentary and video are woven together seamlessly. It all just comes across super casual and relaxed, despite the fact you've surely spent countless hours on this video and many, many more on Scarpet as a whole. There are just so many beautiful details, that completely blows me away, like how you merged overworld and nether biomes and flipped the view upside down just to make the point that they're the same farm.
I finally knew what happened after watching the sugarcane farm part for like 5 times... good work !
"If you only need a few villagers, there is a really good design by a technical UA-camr named Pewdiepie called the Frick Chamber"
That shit killed me
Another thing to add to that trap door replacing sign idea is that signs are laggier. That was the main reason I went with them. They aren't that much laggier but hey. That's also the reason I recommend waterlogged stairs and not waterlogged chests. I didn't see a difference in loss and the stairs aren't a tile entity.
18:00 A wild Etho appears...
Nice to see collabs like this. Eth0 built that farm in his world and it was crazy how much ice you can get with this. I think Iskall did as well?
@@avgjoegeek71 That's not a collab, you can do that with carpet with "/player spawn etho"

Wouldn’t a wild Etho mine redstone ?
This one must be a domesticated Etho as he’s harvesting ice.
the guardian farm fix is a life saver ! i always wondered why my rates were so low, i started mob proofing the ocean thinking it was because of drowned, and not seeing a difference ... thank you so much !
I know there already is a pretty powerful raid farm out there, but i would love to see you play around with these mechanics aswell!
Well, Ray’s design (which seems to be the only modern design people use) is quite good, but there are much better farms out there. The Chinese technical players (namely, Gamepiaynmo) came out with a raid farm that produces 20,000 emeralds per hour (compare that to ray’s 3500 /h) by utilizing the mechanic of stacking villages to have as many as 20 raids going at once. It works in 1.15.2 and the rates are very, very good.
@@aris-eg8ut I did actually build both Ray's farm and the stacking villages design on my survival world, but I think Ray's design can be improved and I'm having huge troubles with the latter, mainly with Evokers and Vexes. I just wanted to see such a project taken on by Gnembon since his farms are usually very survival friendly while yielding high amounts of drops.
If we could make the 20k one work in survival, it would be possible to use it as a substitute for witch huts. It yields a very similar amount of witch drops (ie redstone etc) as a witch hut (without Looting) does if you sleep and use Looting 3. (I did the calculations but I can't find them rn, if you want I can bury them up for you.)
Jason D. If you feel up to it, that’d be cool. One way to deal with evokers and vexes that I personally use is boats, I surround the afk spot and the chute with boats so when the vexes spawn, they go into boats instead of attacking me. After that, they usually die because vexes die after a certain period.
@@aris-eg8ut Yeah I'm aware of the boat method and the vex mob trivia. But have you seen the sheer amounts of vexes spawning from that thing? I probably didn't get enough boats around the place to make it afk relieable, and it did get messy pretty fast.
About the witch drops numbers:
I think that this is the farm we are talking about:
ua-cam.com/video/UJ5aTSB_Nk4/v-deo.html
The creator does a one ingame day test in this video, during which he slays 782 witches (visible at 1:33)
A day-night cycle in minecraft takes 20 minutes, so in one hour you get 782 * 3 = 2346 witches.
minecraft.gamepedia.com/Witch
According to the minecraft wiki, a witch slain with a Looting III sword drops, on average, 7 items (I think the minecraft wiki either doesn't tell us everything or is wrong: 1-3 drops of 0-5 items, which, if distributed evenly, doesnt make sense since the average of 1-3 drops would be 2 drops á 0-5 items, so 2.5 items, which would be 5 items per slain witch but whatever), which would multiply to 2346 witches/hour times 7 items/witch = 16422 items/hour (or 2346 witches/hour by 5 items/witch = 11730).
If not killed by player, a witch would drop 4 items (again, 1-3 drops á 0-2 items would afaik average out to 2 drops á 1 item, so 2 items per witch), yielding 2346 witches/hour times 4 (2) items/witch, which is equal to 9384 (4692) items/hour (Number in brackets consider even distribution).
Ilmangos most recent witch farm yields ~4300 items per hour (without Looting):
ua-cam.com/video/Y-rr8I7MI1o/v-deo.html
I am, however, not diligent enough to do ingame tests about the looting thing.
Also some notes:
- Another issue I have with this farm is stability. If I get it started it works fine, but I fear that I don't get a bad omen at workend (when the farm stops working), which is needed to start it up again the next day.
- You can of course make it faster by sleeping, cranking up the numbers by roughly 1/3.
- Sorting and storing the masses of items.
- Performance of CPU.
- Future-proofing.
Most of those gnembon would consider if he did his own, hence I would like to see him build one.
@@jasond.6068 Just build CCS_Covenant's, it comes with vex suppressor included and is 10x more efficient than gamepiaynmo's. Its already maxed out and you could still run 2 with good hardware and lithuim if 113k witch drops/h isnt good enough for you

Thank you going through all this. I'm sure it gets frustrating seeing all these players ask again and again, but these two videos were super helpful for me in creating some new ideas for me to try.
Yeah true and I mean he builds those things isn't it frustrating to see that other players can't use them anymore, just because of some minor changes...? :)
In my hardcore world, I made the slime farm, but didn't want it bother with ANY REDSTONE OR ENTITIES. My incredibly simple fix was to put slabs in on the top side of the blocks where the chests were in the corners. I put packed ice all around the collection system, and used pressure plates to route the water. This change involves no redstone or hoppers (besides the ones that go directly into the main storage) and a has 0% loss!

TY for updating us on the enderman farm. I built your design in one of the multiplayer servers I play on, and I noticed I was still getting hit by the enderman. The server I play on also has a mob cap (to limit spawn rates, to help prevent lag), so getting hit wasn't really a big problem for me, but! I didn't think of trying the fence, so I'll do that! I also may consider building your teleportation design of that. LOVE your content, super informative!!
Without you we would still be living in caves.

12:00 - I plugged the tree farm output straight into ilmango's vertical 5 blocks/s conveyor with a super-speed BUD smart piston at the top because I couldn't fit any other fast smart piston there without interfering with 12-high jungle trees. I didn't bother with any kind of tree height detection and just run all tree types at 15 stacks in the shulker (or barrel), even jungle trees. The conveyor also seems to get along well with the acacia double harvest mode. The resulting block stream goes into ilmango's new blast chamber, so feedback to pause the farm is no longer needed.
I like using this farm because it's simple enough to understand what's going on, and it doesn't require honey.
Farm using hero of the village effect will super cool, because there is not any tutorial on UA-cam explaining how to build such a farm
There are plenty of Raid farm videos that give you the Hero of the Village effect out there. All you do afterwards is just go trade with your Villagers and they will have lower prices. If you have your Villagers separated by Profession, they will drop gifts in appreciation and you can farm their drops that way.
I feel bad for laughing at the way you said "bee nest".

@Gnembon
Some feedback about the wither skeleton farm:
I had build this farm quite some time back and it worked really well. But then I was digging away the last pillars of the nether fortress and a blaze spotted me through the gap at the bottom pusher (the one bringing the mobs into the 1x3 drop shaft)....Lets just say hell was let lose and about 80% of the carpet and leaves were burned away. So for the rebuild I tried to minimze the use of leaves and used almost only terracotta and I also made sure to cover up that nasty gap. But I was also thinking about what other blocks could be used to replace those leave blocks which are placed at the foot level...strangly enough there is practically only a single block in the game that suits this job: The shulker box. This way the farm can be build completly fire proof. I would say that you need about a stack of boxes.
Doable since 1.17 :)
this zero tick villager farm looks legit, especially the babys groing up in 3 seconds, definately going 2 copy that design

7:50 "You wouldn't download a car, would you"
Absolutely the simple slime farm concept is amazing, even better if the slime chunk is in a mushroom biome, thanks for all the data.... now i've cheked it, the slime chunnk i've detected is in a little ocean biome surrounded by mushroom island, if it was all mushroom biome , i guess no hostile mobs would spawn right? Xd. Server: "a zombie pigman broke my door".
31:06 "you can just use a trapdoor right in their face" XD
You can make the Dropshaft smaler. You only have to lure the small zombies with turtle eggs.
That's a really good idea. The only problem I am seeing is that they also need to be protected somehow not allowing zombies to reach them, and gap between both sections is one block wide.
@@gnembon
zombies can only break them if they step above. Touching is allowed as far as I know.
Beside you dont have to lure them in the middle. Since they are only one block high the other side is also okay.
>Doesn't like TNT duping.
>Plays in SciCraft where *a lot* of TNT dupers have been built.
I am not bothered by what other people are doing. In this game everyone can play as they want, even in the same world.
It was really fun to watch the guardians rain from the sky.
About the villager conversion thing. VIllagers in minecarts are now dropped out of it when they get converted, you seemed to show that happening?, and villagers will pathfind towards glass, as you have mentioned in the description of the pathfinding blaze farm. On the iron farm, portals are not instant. I'm not sure whether or not removing the iron golem instantly would even impact rates as opposed to removing it within 100 gts, as iron golem spawning is synced to world time, with consideration for the cooldown time, but I may fully be mistaken on this.
Thank you for the content.
Edit: didn't realize this was months ago lmao

I’m having trouble with all of your world downloads, other people on my server are having the same problem. More specifically your wither skeleton farm. Love your vids and the amount of high quality content you fit in each of them.
Great video. Thank you so much for the hard work
Hey, Gnembon. Could you revisit your looting double witch farm?
With the wither farm you can also replace the spawning floors with wither rozes, then only wither skelitons will spawn
You don’t have enough subscribers for the work you put into these
the slime farm is more effective with less spawning platforms thats why it doesnt matter if you use minecars
has something to do with the spawning algorythm when you just have 2 subchunks loaded where mobs can spawn every farm is much faster
The subchunk rule was removed in 1.13, also spawning spaces matter since mobs can't spawn inside other mobs.
So even though less layers would mean lower max-y value for spawning, and thus making the farm more efficient,
the fact that slimes occupy many spawning spaces makes it so that you require more of them to get the promised rates.
Thank you very much, you answered all my questions
Eh, I understand why people are a bit against tnt duping, but realistically, the only reason a lot of people dupe tnt is due to servers having a very limited amount of sand. Before Concrete, it was actually fine, a single decent sized desert could supply the entire server with both glass and tnt if they needed it. But with Concrete added and being such a sand drainage, you'd not only need a decently sized desert, but also a decently sized mesa if you want to supply an entire server with concrete, tnt and glass.
Once sand is obtainable through regular villager trading, I see a reason for tnt duping to disappear.
Sent bye good times with scar
Maybe you could make a video explaining some mechanics that can be used for a lot of farms!
They need to make TNT more efficient or find some way of farming it legitimately.
If they were so somehow make same renewable then we could make tnt farms
Maybe even change the recipe into a 2x2 of 2 sand and 2 powder, or 1 sand and 3 powder so it's mostly farmable material
@@roguereaver634 the gun powder really isn't the issue. A creeper only farm or a general mob farm is pretty easy to make. I had general farm for all mobs and i used to get like 3 double chests of all drops per night sooooo much gun powder but sand was annoying. I literally flattened a whole dessert and i still kept running out
@@crunchevo8974 I think you misunderstood my comment, I stated that the recipe should be smaller and include *mostly* gunpowder *because* it's so easily farmable. So in theory only having 1 stack sand per stack of TNT, cutting down on *non renewable* resource usage
@@roguereaver634 or make same renewable somehow

Viewer from 1.16.2 here. Looks like the villager curing machine might be broken by a change that the villager will remain in the minecart.
This is really cool.👍
almost believed the zero tick villager farm cause im not familiar with zero-ticking then i saw the command blocks lmfao
Ciaran Gale why would the command blocks make it unbelievable? These guys use command blocks to show proof of concept on "exploits" as they could make a massive machine to do it. But they don't use these machines so don't both with more then the concept.
Basically it works. And works to well for the smartest guys to bother with as they feel it's cheaty. Like the super witch farm that's spawns thousands a second
@@robincraig3888 so your saying you think a zero tick villager farm is possible... not sure ya entirely understand the principle of zero tick farms, as they dont involve loading a few thousand chunks miles off or anything. you can build a zero tick pretty fast and easily. plus, zero ticking works because of the block that a plant is growing on is getting moved faster than it can break because the block was moved. the villagers dont grow out of the block, in case your unfamiliar with the game.
Ciaran Gale you can zero tick witches. Golems. And pleanty of other mobs. So yes. I believe it's possible. Easy to do? Hell the f no. However. These guys do the "impossible" all the time. Like make flying machines that remove all the bed rock in a 10000 x 10000 area completely afkable to have sky block in vanilla. I'm sure they have found a way to make a villager breed. Make it think it's no longer part of a village. Reform the village. And thus able to breed again instantly. Thus hero ticking their breeding.
Seems you don't understand how scicraft works
@@robincraig3888 y'know how theres a command block that has a sign on it saying turn on zero tick villager breeder? ill leave it at that
The bunk beds in the villager breeder somehow never worked for me. The villagers just didn't see them, no matter what I tried. Had to put the beds all on the lower level and it worked without a problem.
i would love to see a mob jockey farm
Have lots of Chickens near the Spawning platforms. You may want to add a filtration sorting system to it though to keep them separated. All sorts of different problems apply to wrangling Jockeys. GL/GH!

although using nether portals may be a faster and cheaper design solution, I personally wouldn't recommend it, especially on a large scale, for most mob farms because of excessive amounts of lag that could be generated by the portals. This is just a personal opinion, however, so you can do whatever you prefer the most.
Portal lag is almost irrelevant since 1.15 and with chunk loading you shouldn't need to worry abouit it even in 1.14.4 and below
Whats the crazy piano at the intro
Very interesting video. I haven't watched the previous ones, but I do appreciate just how technically in depth you go in terms of the how and why.
One question ( this is from previous mob farm videos, including ender mini farm ) is I guess are you saying that the best y level for building any sort of mob farm is at the bottom of the world? This sort of runs counter to at least the videos I've been seeing where most people simply stick their farms high in the sky. But maybe the justification is different?
Also, does the portal transport work in single player? I guess I've always assumed that the game does not process entities in any dimension a player is not in during single player. How do mob farms ( such as the guardian farm ) work ? Or is the assumption just completely wrong?
Please forgive my ignorance, I've only been playing for 2 months and this game is really a lot more complex than I initially gave it credit for.
The leads and leather was probably a wandering trader that spawned in the completely wrong spot, lol.
Hi gnembon, can you explain how the pathfinding in impulseSV's latest guardian farm works and how it can be reproduced? It seems like an easy design to do with good enough rates for a single-player world.
Guardians naturally sink down and naturally pathfind to random water blocks and there is plenty water blocks outside of the farm. In hindsight, using portals is simpler to build and gives so much more
@@gnembon Thanks! So I guess removing the monument created lots of flowing water blocks that they don't want to pathfind to? I also find it weird how they try to pathfind to the blocks outside without an open route to them even. Will definitely check out the tutorial for the portal farm design though.
you're the best
