Beautiful. They all deserve love. I think I found some in my store-bought bag of landscaping rocks. Broken pieces with intricate patterns of red, yellow and brown inside.

Agates/Jasper stones drive me absolutely crazy...there are soooo many and I want them all, lol...maybe they should have been named "infinity" stones...

@@WhimsyMeadowsI've been finding jasper at the local beach in Virginia USA. So I was just calling everything "beach" jasper. 😂 Most of it is banded with slightly different colors. Some of it might really be chalcedony or chert. I'm still figuring all this out. I'm attempting to catalog and label all of it so one day it will end up in the local Goodwill or something. 😂 Thank you again.

And you would think God would chose diamonds because they sparkle. But he didn't because they would need to be faceted and when you lay a diamond down it doesn't shimmer it is just dark. God chose amazing stones and crystals for walls in heaven. 12 different kinds! And the first is Jasper! Hundreds of variations! Can you imagine? We can just do that imagine untill we are present with Father God and Jesus Christ!!! ♥️♥️♥️

I have so many of these in their raw form but had not seen pictures of some of them tumbled and polished. How I wish I had a tumbler. I need to see if they can be shaped and polished minimally by hand or hand held tools. Thank 6ou so much for making these amazing videos. I am an thankful to have found your channel. I have been collecting rocks for almost my entire life, but have only recently started to seriously study minerals. Planet Earth is pretty spectacular and I'm so thankful to have come here. 💎💜
You actually dont need a tumbler. I could make a video n show how to polish rocks n stones without a tumbler if you like. :) ✨🌹

I don't know what the "official" explanation of jasper formation is, but so many of these look like ancient petrified wood and other plant materials that have been petrified, which would account for the many, many variations, and it seems jasper is a name for any beautiful rock that can't be specifically identified. Thanks for the show!

Beautiful video! I love all the Jasper's. From Raw to polished. Sure does make a huge difference! I can appreciate both! Jasper is one of my favorite Stones because there is hundreds of different kinds! I am a rock hound and find Jasp- agates and carnenian!

I really enjoyed it but wish it was a full list. I started a new hobby, other than collecting crystals...I'm trying to get one of each jasper variety. I'm off to a good start and thanks to your amazing video my list is much more complete. Some of those names are a mouth full but could I ask where you found those...if there's more I'd really like a full list. Only mistake I noticed was Rainforest Jasper is also known as another stone...i believe its also Rainbow Jasper.

@whimsymeadows Hi, I was wondering is yellow mosaic jasper fake because of it's enhanced color and red, blue and purple spots? Is it man-made? I was looking to buy some, but now I'm not so sure. Thank you!
The word Jasper means spotted or speckled stone and when you see the huge variety of gemstones that appear under this name you can understand why. The swirling patterns, the flecks of color, daubs of red, green and yellow, the woody or organic looking patches all make this a truly unique gemstone. Jasper comes in many colors. Wow! All amazing so if I had to pick it would have to be picture jasper..just amazing how detailed it appears to be as if drawn by the hand of God himself. Thank you for this display of a beautiful array of jaspers!
Is bumblebee jasper toxic? Can it be in jewelry next to the skin safely?
Bumblebee jasper is indeed on the "toxic" list because it contains sulfur and arsenic. Tumbledbumblebee jasper is safer to handle than raw, but it's best to always limit your exposure to "toxic" crystals and to always wash your hands after handling them.
Long as polished..you should be ok
I have a normal dalmatian stone, but I did not know there are blue dalmatian stones wow.

So few pieces here are actually Jaspers. Some of it is dyed other stuff. Jasper is opaque Chalcedony and few pieces here fit that description. You have Cherry creek (not)jasper listed as Picasso and Ocean Jasper again as orbicular. You even had Porphyry listed as a jasper. Lots of Rhyolite here .

Will I be able to carve jasper?
The stone breaks with a smooth surface, making carving it easy using gem-cutting methods. Hand carving is a technique of working a gemstone mounted on a metal stick, known as a dop stick, by means of hand-held cutting tools such as a chisel in one hand and a mallet in the other. The result is production of gemstones sculptures, figurines or ornaments. It is a popular technique for carving quartz gemstones such as jasper as well as jade and agate. The gem cutter begins by drawing designs on jasper using rifflers - files with carved edges. The design is cut out using hand carving tools, including a carving knife, coping saw, gouge or chisel. The finished work is sanded with a fine sand paper such as 200-grit diamond-ingrained sandpaper until a glossy finish is achieved.
Can a Dremel be used ?
The dermal tool is a specialized tool to carve any wood, gems or stones. In every woodworking place or gems cutting store, Dremel is frequently been used.

I love Jasper as well. Such a large variety of stone. And you are right, Ocean jasper is a form of Orbicular jasper. Another form of Orbicular Jasper with similar markings known as Leopard Skin Jasper. Can never get enough of this wondrous treasure. Thank you for watching!
