- The 2016 Citroen C4 Cactus was a pleasantly different experience to live with for a week. Comfortable family car with a nippy 1.2 litre turbo engine making for an interesting experience.
All things considered it is an endearing car that is great value for money.

went for three test drives (petrol1.2 82&110 and 1.6 diesel) all manual, and loved it. When I was waiting at the dealer ship there were lots of people testing C4 cactus and all of them loved it. Most of them were in their 50s and complemented the car on its performance and practicality. It is a fun car and I`m in the process of purchasing the 1.2 110 shine
Great review. In 2015 we drove a tourist leased Cactus 1.6 turbo diesel with the ETG automated manual for 8 weeks across Europe, Ireland & UK for 10,500 kms delivering 4.6 litres/100km. ETG 6 speed was great for economy but not so great in its changes unless you used the paddles to shift manually.
So, last month in June 2019 I took delivery in Sydney Australia on of the run out model C4 Cactus with air bumps, the 1.2 Puretech turbo petrol and 6 speed conventional auto. A true modern classic with Citroen quirks and comfort. The funny thing Down Under is that Cactus - means kaput, dead...
I also have a 2CV6 Charleston 1990 series which I have done 280,000 kms. My 3rd 2CV from new. Citroens are addictive. Never want a boring car after Citroen ownership.

Probably best full review I have seen on the Cactus to date, well done and thank you. My Cactus Flair Auto is on order and big part of sale was fuel efficiency and I'm with the over fifties lol. Constructive critique, keep both hands on the steering wheel, bad and very dangerous habit demonstrated here too many times and should not be advocated by motoring media, sorry, but my thoughts!
nick keene just wondered what you thought of the cactus auto? Any good? What's it like on motorways, considering its an auto? As potentially looking to buy one
Sorry Ben but long story short my car was sitting waiting for delivery and had recall from Citroen. After 8 days and 10 phone calls, numerous emails etc to Citroen both UK and local dealer the distinct lack of timescales, answers and fulfilled promises I cancelled the order. I don't like being messed about when I'm spending money. I'm sorry I could not be more helpful.
nick keene that's not good, not surprised you cancelled, I did get feedback from a work mate, who bought one for his wife, after a year they where more than impressed, but it seems the auto needs adapting to, but once used to it, it's very smooth........so I have ordered one.
If I experience the same customer service, you suffered, I will also cancel.
Actually the yellow colour really suits the cactus
Not to be rude, but are you colour blind? Not a bad remark, just, the car is yellow and it sounds like you said it was a striking green(?).
Yup, lost his credibility right in that moment. :-) Then again, he might be slightly color blind.
