    “Finance over 60 months” because that’s smart 😳, if you can’t buy a $5k car in cash, you definitely can’t afford to build it 🤦🏻‍♂️

    • @dylanrodgers7223
      @dylanrodgers7223 4 роки тому +13

      I could afford to pay cash... also could finance and put more money into the car for them sweet ponies. Paying cash for cars isn’t always the smartest. Yeah you pay interest. But taking the 5k and investing it instead of dropping it all on something that inevitably loses value is smarter in the long run. Investment can make you more than you will loose in interest payments.

    • @santiago9ish
      @santiago9ish 4 роки тому +9

      Dyl With It a 5k car won’t depreciate enough to really lose you much money, plus if you’re planning on modifying a car you’re likely not worried about the value. Financing a car and then upgrading it right away isn’t a good idea anyways regardless of money, you should always keep a car stock for at least a month or two to acclimatise yourself to how your car behaves, how it handles, etc.

      How are they sleepers? They still look like modern performance cars. That's like saying my 2002 WS6 TransAm 6speed with 440rwhp (150shot as back up) is a sleeper. Just because it's an older car doesnt make it a sleeper. My 520rwhp (also jetted with a 150shot as back up but was built to take a 300shot) 1989 WS6 formula firebird (also converted to a 6 speed manual from an auto) must be a sleeper because it's just a mullet mobile and it's older than most of the people who have watched this video. I know everyone here loves turbos but my cars are just modified V8s and have a bottle just in case. The 2002 has a slightly tweaked LS1 that basically amounts to free mods, full exhaust from ceramic coated headers, 3" catless y-pipe into a 4" spintech catback, plus it was just a factory freak anyway. The 1989 on the other hand did start off as a TPI305 with a 700r4 4 speed auto that could only get a 14.2 in the 1/4 mile (really good for that engine, though it mainly only had the emissions garbage removed. I built a fully forged bottom end stroker 383 cubic inch v8 with eagle heads etc, etc, etc. When I swapped the 383 into the car I converted to a T56 6 speed manual from an LT1 powered 97 SS Camaro. I guess since they are old they are sleepers too. Btw, I do love the 3000gt vr4 even if they are a complete basterd to work on but an ls1 powered TransAm is a bitch to work on too. The headers just made oil changes and spark plug changes that much more of a bitch and your always changing plugs when you love the bottle.

      If the car is already depreciated to 4k the APR is going to be ridiculous even with half decent credit.
      Also if someone can't afford to pay 4k out of pocket under no circumstances are they in a situation to finance that car because the first surprise 1k maintenance bill is going to put them upside down ass up waiting for the next 4k shady financed hoopy dealer special to screw them in the pooper.

    For a good sleeper list to add on:
    The 90s Impala, looks soooo boring but will surprise supercars with the right mods (*cough* turbo *cough)
    The G35 sedan, I know, a VQ, but fun fact, the 2003 G35 sedan is LIGHTER than the G35 coupe, and that VQ can make power (with the right mods like turbo and add some forged internals) like the GT-R, in a lighter chassis!
    The Miata from any year, you can pretty much do anything with it, LS swap, Coyote Swap, add Dorito power, and even turbo it! It’s light and you do not need a lot of horsepower to make it quick, and, they are cheap to do (sometimes)
    I cannot believe I’m going to say this, but the Honda Civic, you can seriously make a sleeper out of a Civic, with the V-Tec engine, you can build it up for a cheap price and tear up the drag strip, just as long as you don’t add -5 camber and an exhaust that looks like a smoke stack.

It's got the basic double wishbone suspension all around, it's everywhere, and without even having a turbo it's possible to get an 80hp increase from 160-240 using a better intake and exhaust header. Another sleeper, an Acura TL with AWD and a 6 speed, those are some cars that hide some really good potential

Arrival blue, mint condtion. 300FWHP properly tuned, not a single component left stock from the fuel pump/wiring to the engine/trans mounts, brake/clutch lines, etc. That blower screamed like a banshee and it surprised a lot of high power cars to the point I had people asking me to pull over to talk about it... Unfortunately its rarity also meant it had a lack of tuning support..so I basically abandoned that platform (Jbody). Now I just sport my turbo Miata (91, 300rwhp) and daily driven 2016 Focus ST (FBO, tuned). I really would love another Cavalier...as a car guy..thats something you don't hear often! The 08-2010 SS is the most underrated FWD ever build. 260HP from the factroy. Brembos, launch control, no lift shift was almost unheard of for any car at the time. $6K can get you into a very clean one.

    Definately the Volvo 850 wagon. But the good ones are far from cheap, at least in germany. I imported mine from switzerland, 1 owner (elderly lady), full service history, absolutely no rust. It's not an R though, it's a 2,5 Turbo AWD. I've done a few things to enhance the performance a little bit ( bigger Turbo and exhaust, injectors, mapping, coilovers, etc ), but the overall appearance is fairly stock. It's absolutely priceless when that old boxy wagon doesn't dissappear in the rear view mirror on the autobahn.

    A citroen C5 exclusive, that puts out stock around 170 hp from a 2.2 liter 4 banger diesel engiene but it can get to 400 easily and makes a 0-60 run in around 6.5 seconds bone stock. Most citroens only got only 110 hp but as mentioned this is an exclusive model with more power. Stock it puts down 370 nm of torque and most of the people do not know that these cars can do more than just look luxurious and be cheap. It also has an integrated suspension setting from normal to sport in order to challenge the corners. Its height can also be adjusted from low to high and you can even integrate an awd system for more grip. A definite sleeper for me with lots of potential that should be mentioned.

    In Australia, one of the best sleepers is a JDM U13 Nissan Bluebird SSS ATTESA. It has a factory SR20DET and AWD. They are rare here and it looks almost identical to the boring grandpa spec U13 Bluebird SSS that was available here with only a naturally aspirated 2.4 litre 4 cylinder FWD so is so often mistaken for it and not given a second glance.
    The Mazda’s were sold here as MPS3 and MPS6, They we’re both “halo” cars of the range, so generally recognised as such which takes away from their sleeper status. The MPS3 was actually the quickest car Mazda Australia sold at the time.
    The VR4 Galant stood out for its individual shape quite easily here, that people of an age who know what they are will recognise it straight away, and people born later than that will not necessarily know what it is, but it will still stand out to them because of its individual shape.
