Not unless you want the enclosure to have less output for the trade off of lower end extension I wouldn’t add sound dampening- possibly poly fill if anything But tbh I wouldn’t 👍🏼
If you run DSP you can run far more watts into a speaker because you take out the distortion. But you have to know how to tune the speaker and have clean power
i find now dsps are give or take, unless your tying into a factory head unit or trying to add you dont really need it unless your looking for peak sound quality of course. if you just try to add a sub or even trying to do you door speakers id recommend the lc2 from audio control.
@ogkfabrication4180 I run Helix DSP that runs morel speakers pushed by Audison amplifiers. Other vehicle I have Zapco amps processor etc home also dsp with klipsch speakers. It makes a huge difference in sound quality. Makes good better, decent amazing, and amazing spectacular. You don't see many cars winning anything with just an amp hooked up to a speaker without some kind of tuning. Any audiophile will tell you that any speaker plays some frequencies very well and flat but will have some peaks and valleys that need to be smoothed out. People who have sat in my car can't believe how loud it is just off of 6 speakers. That's because it doesn't have distortion and I have the power going to em. If the speakers had distortion in them they would smoke up
Kicker= skar= entry level stuff. When one of those kicker guys said on camera"there is no bass information past 40hz" I knew kicker was crap. Ran it before for a long time but was not happy with it. Amps? Let's not get into those ,the subs are bad enough ..
I’m sorry you had such a bad experience with them Like anything it’s user dependent on their experience level Aaron wasn’t wrong tho .. in motorcycle applications low frequencies are very hard to achieve and that’s what he was studying ! We all make mistakes sometimes!
Lmao. Whatever you say boss. Let's see your sub of choice hit 180 dB than come talk. Kicker made some entry level stuff to give the guys that didn't want to spend thousands on car audio. The tech and time, even customer service and warranty with kicker products are on par and even better than alot of the products out today. Sleep on kicker all you want but kicker is leaps and bounds above manufacturers like skar.
When someone says a brand is garbage that actually does research and development… Sure some brands are just bad for what you pay - but no brand is per say just garbage You get what you pay for , especially on the entry line level of any brand Sorry for your bad experience with Kicker - I’d be happy to assist you on your system so you can have a better experience in the future 👊🏼
@@LivinLoudwithAndy I've personally had bad luck with kicker components all around even their high end equipment, at one point in time I had a competition setup in which I was running my subs off of their warhorse 10k amp and the thing would constantly over heat
@@LivinLoudwithAndy which do you have? Because the 10k I had back when I ran competition setups was constantly overheating. And wasn't due to anything I did, literally the amp and sub box were the only things in the truck no interior the amp had completely unrestricted air flow
John approved isn't exactly Kicker approved but I'll take it. Mo powa mo betta
Gotta love the disclaimer 😅 “the following information might be wasted information- use it at your own risk “ 😉
I just bought a 12'' L7T sealed enclosure, should i put deading material inside. Would it improve the bass.

300 a channel must be seriously loud. I have a Kicker 360.4 powering 4 6x9 at 65 watts a piece, and it gets really loud for me.
John is a special kind of crazy ! In a good way 😆

how much crack do you smoke..
You can get away with more by adding crossovers yes !

He misspoke, but that they aren't some great subs is silly.

The amp over heat? I got one myself - thing runs ice cold
Fan inside for looks 😆
All comes down to user
