I have taught in Minneapolis and St. Paul schools and they are really toxic and dysfunctional. Many adults who live in the cities send their students to private, charter, or suburban schools. People in both cities are very cliquish and unfriendly. I've lived here all my life.
Curious which WI suburb you would recommend for families. My son in law is being transferred to to Minneapolis-we currently all live in Texas. My husband and I are retired and will be moving with them to stay close to the grandchildren. We are not thrilled with the taxes in Minnesota but the new location would have to be doable for our son in law’s commute. Any suggestions?
There are many variables not disclosed that would drive the answer to this question. Id be happy to discuss if you send me an email to my new email roddy@lakesmn.com. Hudson is popular, Somerset is growing, New Richmond is highly affordable, Osceola is charming and historic. The further north you go, the more affordable.
@@discoverminnesota I love the rambler style houses. The decent sized, but not oversized yards. I like how small Richfield is, yet right in the center of the Mpls universe. Close to everything. Although you may need to adjust to the planes flying overhead from time to time. I know the demographics of Richfield has changed in the last 30 years, but it still has that 'Richfield' vibe to it.
Sheila, that's what my family does, minus off-grid. I am addicted to it. Wisconsin is a very reasonable distance from the metro and way more affordable. We homestead out here and there are tons of small towns with jobs. Nice thing is that many jobs are supplemental to the needs of the metro so there is more than enough work for those that want to work hard.
Excellent. Very well done presentation.

@@discoverminnesota Thank you for your insight. I will be in touch.
I've lived in Richfield, St Louis Park, Lakeville, Eagan and now own a home in E St Paul. Honestly, of all those choices, Richfield is the best.
What is it about Richfield that you like the most?

How is country living off grid and jobs. Small town

I would love to live in rural Minn. but not those two cities.
Take a look at Stillwater, the northeast areas around the Twin Cities, and western Wisconsin. All fantastic places to live.
