Why is this brilliant singer not recognized as one of the great baritones of all time? He has a beautiful voice with a great range, a ringing top and grounded low notes, and perfect legato.
Actually I thought he was a pretty good actor in scenes with other characters. He had a real talent for it. He seemed less effective when alone during arias.
