I bought it recently for my Xbox because i loved this game on PC and my PC had some lag. Also a message to Square Enix for the great work they have done and like you said until today this game has no rival. Although this game lost as business it showed us what Square Enix is capable of when they are inspired and i will never forget the fun i had playing this.😁😁😁

When you play a game and get mad that the storyline ended, then go on to complete the whole storyline again just so you could play it more......the game was perfect! Perfect storyline, perfect characters, great graphics, awesome soundtrack and engaging open world.
Today is 8/14/22...ten years after the release of "Sleeping Dogs " and I still love this game. Arguably the most criminally underrated action open world game ever. I still am upset Square Enix canceled "Sleeping Dogs 2". I truly miss this game.
What amazed me at the time was that they were able to get Brian Wilkinson, Will Yun Lee, Emma Stone, Kelly Hu, Lucy Liu and James Hong to do the voices. Usually there's only one or two famous Hollywood actors in one game. But in this game, almost every speaking role was voiced by well known actors. The budget for this game must be so high. Maybe that's why the people behind this game thought that it's a flop, since they couldn't get enough profit, due to the high production cost.
It wasn't a flop critically and sales wise it broke even .however square enix had a EA moment and made unrealistic expectation of sales 10 15 m units to ship things like this. and if it didn't meet it well no sequel they then released the definitive version and again it was being compared to gta 5 the release dates were also terrible because it was competing against heavy hitters when both version was released
Loved Sleeping Dogs, played through it on both the PS4 and PC. Selling 1.5M copies on its first production run and 'not being profitable' raises an eyebrow though. I know the game had a lot of A list talent it, but still.
I just started my first playthrough of this game yesterday. I've heard nothing but good things about, so I'm excited to go deeper into the story and gameplay.

I was a menace when I was younger so I didn't play that much games just played halo reach, black ops 1, assassin's Creed, UFC, GTA IV n rugby league live 1 n 2 n I didn't have internet back then so I would just replay the campaign all the time, then i got sent to my father he introduced me to more iconic games like batman the arkem series, driver san Francisco, Skylanders, DJ hero guitar hero, sleeping dogs you name it my dad was abit of a geek but that's what I loved about him

Man.. Finally completed this Game, actually started playing it a lot before, but stopped in btw due to being stuck in a level, and now after so many months that i restarted playing it... MAN! DAYUM!!! WHAT AN ETHEREAL, INTENSE ACTION-THRILLER MASTERPIECE! Truly Worth every second I invested in this hugely engaging and intuitive action adventure, what a total blast! To the point that its amazing story emotionally grasped me so much that I felt it couldn't be much great! The gruesome action supported by real and bone shaking animations, the mechanics, the controls which though maybe hard to learn at start but once taken care of will gave out the feel of the fight, the well fitting voice acting and the whole environment the game managed to showcase too beautifully and with great detailing. And the explosions the shooting taking cover the oarkour moves martial arts everything related to action and shooting is MIND BOGGLING!!!! Seriously, one of the most lovable and engaging experiences I ever had playing an open world, with GREAT STORYLINE, GAMEPLAY AND CHARACTERS! The gamer who didn't played this is missing a crazy underworld experience which only this 'One-of-Its-Kind' can offer.. Truly one of its kind. I am in love with Wei Shen. And this Game..!!! 😍

I have played and beaten this game like 5 times and that is something that I rarely say in gaming nowadays. I 100%'d all the collectibles at least 2 times when I did it and its still one of the most gripping stories I played through and credit this game (along with Assassin's Creed) for actually bringing me into the Sandbox/Open World genre It's a shame we will never go back to Hong Kong for a sequel but I know one thing...I'll play the original again soon and love every second of it!

Sleeping Dogs is one of those rare games which kept me interested throughout the game making me to forget all other things a while, my worries, depression etc. I just fell in love with the story of undercover cop trying to keep all shit together. I am doing so much better personally today but I wouldn't mind a sequel!

I would have hoped to have had a sequel by now to understand if Wei stayed an officer or a new threat caused him to go back into the criminal underworld. When I got my new Xbox, I immediately purchased Sleeping Dogs. Its gained new life since its initial release.
The developers for this game went down some time before the switch came out. The publisher needs to hire new people for the port if they see any interest in porting it.

Played this when it first came out on a different platform and I got it again on Steam's summer sales for less than 2 USD! I am playing through it again and it seemed fresh than ever!
I played thru it in the last six months for the first time, and thought it was really great - in 2022. I would have liked some of the decisions to have more of an effect on story though - let me choose if i wasnt to go corrupt or not.
They had that planned in the sequel along with a co op partner or 2 character you controlled who affected each other story and outcome sadly we never got to see what they had in mind for the sequel
My jam was that Air Supply song. I think I actually did get a perfect on that song ONCE. One of the best accomplishments for me in the game regardless how simple it was
Honestly, the only game that I can think of would be GTA4, but even that is different. In general, Hong Kong is such an underrated setting in video-games, and Sleeping Dogs is a great example of how you can make a GTA clone set in a country where firearm ownership is regulated.
I have many memories of this game. I love it to death. It is not only an underrated gem, it is one of the greatest games of the last decade. One of my absolute favourites.

This was the greatest open world game I've ever played along with Witcher 3,Vice city and GTA 5. What set it apart from all the others was it's combat system and story. The combat was so satisfying, dynamic while interacting with the surroundings. I was waiting for part 2 but it never came.
Did anyone see the nice little detail of animation at 3:56? Pur hero sweeps a low kick and one of the baddies jumps up to avoided being swept off his feet. I love shit like that.
I somehow had missed this game when it was released, and Xbox gave it away for free on Games with Gold. Man. One of the best games from that generation, so underrated. Everything about it was great.
Sleeping Dogs is a perfect example of how to blend several gameplay mechanics from multiple successful titles. Also, I remember after I finished the game, I immediately created a playlist full of Kerrang! Radio songs. Song choices for this game are freaking on point!

I loved True Crime Streets of LA. It was one of my favorite games on Game Cube. Unsurprisingly, I love Sleeping Dogs as well. Sad how under the radar that game is, especially with how well it still holds up. I would love to see a sequel.

The Saboteur feels like it is hidden even deeper. Almost never hear that game mentioned. Easily one of the best games on PS3.

They were on to something with Sleeping Dogs a lot of fans have went on but this thing has a fan base that is out of this world and I am still part of it

Honestly I don’t care what the fanboys say this game is far more interesting than GTA four or GTA five.
Played this when it first came out on a different platform and I got it again on Steam's summer sales for less than 2 USD! I am playing through it again and it seemed fresh than ever!
The live action trailers before the game was released were brutal and amazing. Definitely needs a sequel in the future.

I played thru it in the last six months for the first time, and thought it was really great - in 2022. I would have liked some of the decisions to have more of an effect on story though - let me choose if i wasnt to go corrupt or not.
They had that planned in the sequel along with a co op partner or 2 character you controlled who affected each other story and outcome sadly we never got to see what they had in mind for the sequel

My jam was that Air Supply song. I think I actually did get a perfect on that song ONCE. One of the best accomplishments for me in the game regardless how simple it was

Honestly, the only game that I can think of would be GTA4, but even that is different. In general, Hong Kong is such an underrated setting in video-games, and Sleeping Dogs is a great example of how you can make a GTA clone set in a country where firearm ownership is regulated.
This game deserves more mentions and days gone do as well !

This was the greatest open world game I've ever played along with Witcher 3,Vice city and GTA 5. What set it apart from all the others was it's combat system and story.
The combat was so satisfying, dynamic while interacting with the surroundings. I was waiting for part 2 but it never came.

Did anyone see the nice little detail of animation at 3:56? Pur hero sweeps a low kick and one of the baddies jumps up to avoided being swept off his feet. I love shit like that.

I somehow had missed this game when it was released, and Xbox gave it away for free on Games with Gold. Man. One of the best games from that generation, so underrated. Everything about it was great.
Sleeping Dogs is a perfect example of how to blend several gameplay mechanics from multiple successful titles.
Also, I remember after I finished the game, I immediately created a playlist full of Kerrang! Radio songs. Song choices for this game are freaking on point!
One of my biggest wishes is a sequel to this on unreal engine 5 or a Scarface remake, with upgraded combat and more polish

I’ve bought this game 2 or 3 times now through the years on different consoles & I just bought it again on my Xbox S so I definitely would love to see an updated sequel.

Sleeping Dogs is definitely in my top 10 games of all time !! it was action packed, good story and characters, nice gameplay, even the trophies were well made... think it was my 2nd Platinum on PS3
I loved True Crime Streets of LA. It was one of my favorite games on Game Cube. Unsurprisingly, I love Sleeping Dogs as well. Sad how under the radar that game is, especially with how well it still holds up. I would love to see a sequel.

Very underrated game. A very different setting as opposed to the American cities. The hand to hand combat was very satisfying. A shame we won't be able to get a sequel to this hidden gem
Always remembering that the road direction was different then the states and will always find myself driving on the right side. Sure do need a sequel indeed
