Honestly, I own many hue rgb bulbs and strips, but I hardly ever use any of the color, in the end, while I had my "sci-fi" moments where I turned my living room into a spaceship from a movie, a warm white light is just what feels most cosy and natural to me. I think it's a matter of personal taste, but I believe many others have been in the same spot. Some things just look better in a video... But thanks for the video, I still enjoy this flashy tech, as long as it's not invading my appartment :)
I'm with you man. They showed off the new sync box during the CES 2024 show in January with the hdmi 2.1 I have T1, it's great for the price but I want that 100% accuracy. Had the T2 on my 75 inch tv and no matter what I did it didn't have the color accuracy and position dialed in as my T1 so I sent it back. Now I'm dying for new sync box. Mr. Tek's opinion was maybe this summer but I'm hoping it comes before the end of the year.
Love your videos man, your commentary, filming & editing is all so on-point! Would prefer the more subtle baseline kit myself but the purple looks really nice too.
Love govee but i miss when they use to be a cheaper alternative to phillips lights and just as good, 199 is just insaine for technically a rgb strip with decals on it.
I hear where you’re coming from man. This release definitely falls more on the luxury side. Still, there are a good number of popular releases that come in under a lot of the competition. The T2 is one of my favorite kits of all time, and you can pick that up for under $110 with coupon (65” size), which is much lower than something like the Hue sync box (not including bridge)
I paid $10 for a loaf Omge 3 organic bread. I purchased a washing machine after the local laundry]mat machines almost doubled their cost. Prices everywhere are out of control 😮
Mr. Tek what is the maximum amount of T lights we can have on one power block & if we add more does it dim the y lights due to having more than 5 on the one power brick?
Wow, nice video, but one question, the EVA bars that go on the desk, are those just RGB bars, or do they also include speakers so you can listen to music or the sound of video games? Thanks for answering.
Now there’s an idea! Unfortunately, no audio speakers for these Govee light bars. Govee does have a floor lamp pro though, that does feature speakers and music sync features.
Man, I'm torn. I absolutely love the look of the lights in black, as a 20 piece kit for my ceiling would look kinda dumb in purple. But with the lack of connector options, it's gonna cost extra to..make a ring , I guess? I dj online, so this would be the centerpiece of my backdrop. Sacrifices must be made, I suppose. Also, thank you for showcasing the special 8 premade edits for the Evangelion kit. It's nice to know what we're actually getting if we go that route, and I have yet to see anyone put that out there. Really helps with decision making. I'll probably end up getting a few black kits, even if it torches my wallet. Cheers!
Hey man, The DJ set up you’re envisioning sounds dope. Turns out Govee is actually going to have an expansion kit option right out of the gate for both the EVA and black light kits. I’ve added the link to the description, but seeding here as well for convenience. Wall light Expansion Kit: amz.run/9Ro9 Let me know what you decide on and how it ends up, definitely curious!
@@MrTekSuggest Much appreciated! I already have a homemade 'pipe wall'. I spray painted a bunch of PVC pipes black/chrome and have them mimicking exposed pipes on my backdrop ( the PVC is lighter and cheaper than metal pipes). I lined the back of the pipes with RGB strips to create a customizable glowing effect without exposing the lights. It just looks like they're part of the pipes. Funny story though: After a few years, half of my RGB strip lights died so I had to replace it....not paying attention that my new lights are now FOURTEEN FEET LONGER. So, 14 more feet of pipes it is. It's ridiculous. My room now looks like a WINDOWS screen saver from 2003. I have a projector screen framed inside the pipes, a GOVEE Glide added below...But my white ceiling and camera angle for djing with these EVA lights could really put my setup into the stratosphere. I really have to make a video showcasing my setup one of these days. Love it or hate it, I DID put a lot of work into it. If/when I get the ceiling set up, you can bet I'll have a video for you. Thanks again!
Hello MrTek, i wanted to ask you what are these Wall Panels on the left? 0:50 that would be awesome to know. These gun metal things :D (not the Govee Glide Hexagon) Thank you so much!
Great call out man! So for the Stealth/Black kit + expansion that'd be about $179 with (5 sections and 3 connectors in total) vs EVA current retail $199 with (6 sections and 2 connectors).
What’s up, man. Yep, I actually have a pair of the OG Xbox series X headset on hand now. But my connection has been much more reliable, even still, using the 7X. But I do have a lot going on in my office/game space. A lot of potential interference, and the 2G band with the 7X dongle has just been a lot less frustrating
@@MrTekSuggest Thanks for your reply! I think I'm gonna go with the xbox wireless headset, because I already have a 2.1 audio system in my room, so I dont need an audiphile experince with headsets. I'd actually emailed Govee about the difference between the standard and Evaneglion versions (besides colour and number of pieces) but i needn't have bothered as you've answered for me! Thank you :) I dont know if i have any space for these since I pretty much have every things else Govee but these do look great 😍
0:50 wait what are those hexagons on the wall? So cool. It goes with these walls lights and your setup really well Edit: found it.. Govee Hexa Light Ultra. Which one is this, the white or gray?
Great vid as always thanks! I have a white 3D panel feature section behind my monitor (same as one of your walls I think), think these would look good framing around it or go for the rope/desk light or M1? Definitely picking up a pair of these regardless. Lol
@@MrTekSuggest grey wall, white 3D panels - 2 sets of Govee hexa and 2 Lyra floor lights as well as the T2 backlight. Thanks for the response brother!
@@lucaswest7025 Got it, sounds like you have a predominantly clean gray and white set up. So if you’re wanting to play it safe (more neutral look in the day), the M1 with diffusers bordering the panels will probably look pretty clean. Believe Govee’s also selling a strip with diffusers included as well for an all in one kit. But on the other hand, if you’re looking to take it up a notch, the EVA-01 hands down, man. And I think the black variant falls somewhere in the middle. Either way, let me know what you decide!
@@MrTekSuggest yeah man I’m really thinking the “gaming lights” as they call them - I’m thinking the black version to blend with the room a little better while off, vs the purple EVA - but I wish they gave/sold the QR code for the exclusive scenes that come with the EVA series. To fully frame I think I’ll need the full 12 panels but I think it would look great. Greatly appreciate the response and look forward to seeing your channel/setup grow! 🤝
Govee Lovely lights. If they fail you are completely SOL. My outdoor permanent lights lasted 3 wks. I am now in the second month of trying to get replacement part. Absolutely the worst customer service. Repeatedly asked for info they already had. Gave me 3 different replacement dates. Have yet to send anything. It's as if they dick you around long enough you will just give up .Not happening too much work and money involved.
I know NOTHING about Japanese anime... NOTHING. I have Phillip hue in my office and they are cool, but I think adding these to my ceiling would be dope... I am just playing with the idea, but I still don't know which one I would like. I think the purple would be doing too much and I like the subtle one better, but I don't know... Nice video though.
The price point is straight garbage. If they were half the price I wouldn't hate so much but for something that should honestly cost no more than $50 and costs less to make your own version yourself. 2 sets covers the cost of a 3d printer and a soldering iron.
Excellent presentation. I'm sure it was challenging to film these as cleanly as you did. Thank you for the time you took here.
Thank you!
Oh I like the these!!!! Glad to see you back with new content !

Best Govee vids on UA-cam hands down. I am now a Govee addict thanks to you! But I dig my setup now. 2 Glides, 2 M1's, desk neon, T1, plus Y lights.

Just ordered the same 6 bar set via the Govee app. They have a coupon for sixty bucks off the 199 retail, right now.
Do these work with the standard version of the wall lights? I read somewhere that they aren't compatible but I want to make sure.
Destroyed my garage with these things not sticking . Will be buying Velcro tape
Guessing there is no way to use these with the new sync box other than syncing in Dreamview?
2:30. when you said 8 connectors. you meant the corders that change the direfciton of the lights? and 12 light bars?
