Such a great tutorial! You gave enough information without overwhelming a beginner. I’m so happy to have found you. The kit you used is just so pretty. Thank you.
This was a great tutorial. You covered all of the basis. For beginners who can become frustrated and quickly overwhelmed this helps so much! Thank you!
Great video! Weird thing though, this video came across my feed as a video that only posted 5 minutes ago. 😕 Thanks anyway, because I still liked watching it. 🙂
I came upon this video somehow...never sure how I arrive at these places; it was extremely helpful as I've never tried signatures before...I'm quite the newbie. Thanks so much for the tutorial.
I have been binge watching your tutorials and love your voice and ease of explaining how and why you are doing what you do. As an avid Altered Book and Junk Journal maker and teacher, I appreciate your generosity. And I have ordered a few of your printables and paper from Red River!
beautiful collection i will be buying , i just love the colours and the bumblebees!!! and your journal turned out lovely, thank you for showing how to make one ... i checked out ur etsy i too am from ontario :)
Very nice ! Thanks for sharing ! Wish you showed the glueing of covers and pockets like what glue you used and where do you put glue on front and back covers . Some people put glue on edges or all over the paper . It looks beautiful !
I may have described that in other videos, but it's really a personal preference; I typically only glue edges to avoid bubbling, and even use double sided tape. Thanks for watching.
I don't remember exactly as it was years ago, but I typically use 8 to 12 pages per signature, depending on whether or not they're going to be decorated (the embellishments you add and thickness of paper should be factored into the number of pages otherwise your book ends up a bit too bulky to close nicely). Thank you for watching!
Love this idea and definitely going to make a few! TFS! Why did you not sew the signature in first, then glue the lace to the cover, this way the cord would be hidden, just a thought! Thanks again!
Both ways work! I went with exposing the twine because I like wrapping this type of sheer lace up and over the top and bottom of the cover instead of cutting it or folding it on itself on the outside. Wrapping it like I did can only be done before the signature is sewn in.
Perhaps I missed you telling how many pages you had in the signature. I hope I can find a legal size hanging file. I like the elastic closure and the one hole attaching the signatures.
I typically put 8 to 12 pages per signature in my journals, of average weight paper. The elastic closure is great because it accomodates the journal if you start filling it with extra cards and tags. Thank you for watching, let me know if you have any more questions :)
Newbie question, on what kind of paper should i print your kits? And, can i print them at a Store like bureau en gros / staples? Sorry, hope i don’t sound stupid. Thanks.
Sorry it took me so long to reply. Here's a video where i talk about my favourite paper. You can absolutely go to Staples or other print store with a zip drive. They can tell you what type of paper they use. ua-cam.com/video/cuCc_yPOj3Y/v-deo.html
I was a big fan of Scotch Create glue at the time, but have since stopped using it (I don't like the wrinkling on thinner paper) and just keep Fabri-Tac on hand for most of the gluing to keep it simple. It works on just about everything.
I have both. The laser prints are waterproof so you can coffee or tea stain them. The inkjet images are not, but sometimes that doesn't matter. It depends on what you want to get out of it. 🙂
Hi Donna, I've been updating my shoppe so it's possible some kits aren't available at the moment. I use different weights of matte photo paper when printing on an inkjet. There are a few videos on my channels about this if you search my playlists. Thank you for watching! Debbie
You are a great teacher! thanks for sharing your beautiful paper and how to use it!

Oh my gosh, love it!!! I’m new to journaling now i cant wait to get started!! Thank you so much for your tutorial
Thank you, going to do this
Have fun!
Very clear instructions! Thank you! How many sheets of paper did you use for this journal?
I don't remember exactly as it was years ago, but I typically use 8 to 12 pages per signature, depending on whether or not they're going to be decorated (the embellishments you add and thickness of paper should be factored into the number of pages otherwise your book ends up a bit too bulky to close nicely). Is your work surface a mat? I love it!
Yes, it's a piece of vinyl photography backdrop. I love the rustic wood look 👍
@@debbieanneEVG it's gorgeous!

What kind of glue did you use to attach the papers to the file folder?
I was a big fan of Scotch Create glue at the time, but have since stopped using it (I don't like the wrinkling on thinner paper) and just keep Fabri-Tac on hand for most of the gluing to keep it simple. It works on just about everything.
Do you have a laser or ink jet printer. 😊 I'm in the market for either butt want the best for digital images.
I have both. The laser prints are waterproof so you can coffee or tea stain them. The inkjet images are not, but sometimes that doesn't matter. It depends on what you want to get out of it. 🙂
Do you print the pages on regular paper or cardstock? I tried to find them on Etsy but couldn't find them

Thank you Debbie - I will definitely check out your playlist! ❤
I use my ice pick. Lol
Clever! 😁👍
