Never forget trying to break loose a chevy rear end cap, I busted the tool, and slammed my thumb, right into the seam of the gas tank. Mashed my thumb between the long handled wrench and the metal lip of the seal. For the next month I was using 2 fingers bent, to hold a bolt and start it into the threads.

Hows the Carter brand pump doing 2 years later? I see the same one on RockAuto but have never bought any of their other parts.

So far it’s holding up good. I buy quite a bit from them just because they have great prices. It’s an option if you need to go that route.

I had to stretch the gasket out a little so it would stay put. It works but now the gas gauge is stuck at 75 percent.

I want to give you a thumbs up for a great video but man, blowing half that crud all into the car and then lifting the old pump off with most of the crud still on it ??? So 2 days later the new pump gets clogged with mud? All you needed was a wet rag. Great tutorial otherwise.
