Big Bong was such a G. Imagine volunteering to be completely erased from existence for all time to save someone? Sacrifice doesn't get much greater than that.
Mufasa's death just overall felt less sad and more shocking. It was less focused on hitting you in the feels and was mostly just a plot device to continue the story. Bing Bong, though? It's already sad enough on its own, but when you think of it as a metaphor for Riley growing up and beginning to leave those things she loved as a child behind... it hits just THAT much harder!
There is something about a character that sacrifices themselves and can then continue to smile and cheer you on with genuine excitement even as they fade...
I can’t. 😭 this was so strong for me. I love bing bong since I have an affinity towards elephants 🐘 even tho he is a bunch of things. He was the cutest character in this movie. This scene wrecked me 😭 😢 😞

Some of us grow up forgetting that we were once young and full of fun, we had that silly goofy personality, with our imagination being a realm of infinite possibilities. Growing up shifts those responsibilities and makes us forget those silly things like Bing Bong. What a silver lining in this film.
Riley had forgotten Bing Bong, and he only ever wants to see her go and live life with or without him. It's an abandonment of childhood and a metaphor for growing up and leaving others behind. Maybe that's not cry worthy to some, but people with strong empathy certainly feel the feels well up lol
Just like you I don't cry at this scene or any sad scene at a movie or TV show for that matter but that doesn't mean you don't have a heart you have heart you just don't cry is all
“Take her to the moon for me…” is by far one of the hardest hitting lines in any movie ive ever seen. Bing Bong sacrificed being forgotten forever by his best friend to save her future…
It's those "YES but NO but YEEES but NOOO"-scenes that absolutely wreck me in every movie, the ones where desperation and hope clash head-on at full speed. And this was a prime example of it.
This scene with Bing Bong brought back memories of the Jennifer Walters' scene in 'She Hulk', when Bruce is trying to figure out her threshold for stress, Jen mentions Bing Bong... "Oh put on a Pixar movie"... "When Bing Bong jumps out of the wagon in Inside Out..." 😥
I FINALLY watched this for the first time on Thanksgiving, and even I was surprised to get emotional at the death of an imaginary friend. Goes to show how impactful Inside Out is.
I definitely did not cry on the outside and still don't during this scene, but the execution was just perfection. Masterful storytelling, fantastic music, and great voice acting. Thank you Bing Bong. o7❤❤
@PixarShark I went to her UA-cam reaction video to this/that particular part and after she did the whole big crying, she explained something so beautiful about the interpretation of that scene and how one can reflect upon it with their own lives. It was such a profound and beautiful interpretation that made me cry an UGLY CRY AGAIN... 😭🥹
When Bing Bong dies, that means it's time to say goodbye to our imagination, that means we're done being a kid, that means we're losing the meaning of life.
This scene is actually emotional because of his death scene cause like it’s horrible to be forgotten while you’re an imaginary friend and you love them and protect somebody and you don’t even exist that you exist when they’re alone
A friend of mine took his girlfriend to see this movie when it came out. He's more of an action/horror guy, but he took her because she was really looking forward to it, and he was hoping to end the day having fun (if you know what I mean). When this scene came around he admitted that he made a huge effort, but he burst into tears and his girlfriend had to comfort him in the middle of the room. She found it so moving that they both burst into tears (I burst out laughing at this). In the end, they enjoyed the rest of the movie and although my friend didn't get what he wanted, he did have a good time after he regained his composure as they went out to dinner. Some time later I saw it too and although I didn't cry my eyes out, since I'm colder and less sentimental than my friends, I did get teary-eyed.
