I understand other players from other WC teams were in the same boat with limited preparation, but it was obvious Giddey's fellow Aussie players couldn't predict some of his drives and/or passes as would his Thunder team mates. He also didn't have good shooters to pass out to, Mills and Ingles were OK but Green & Thybulle weren't. Giddey could have easily averaged 10 assists per game in the WC. For his upcoming NBA season I truly believe Giddey won't avg more ppg than last year but his assists will sky-rocket with another scorer in Chet coming into the line-up. Can't wait to watch the Thunder in the coming season. Love the vids Riro, keep them coming 👍

Mills and Ingles were terrible at the WC - and their defense was horrendous. Goorjian is under fire for not playing the now better shooting and defending Aussies on numerous other NBA teams.

I was disappointed with the Australian team at the WC, given where we have been before. I hope they have some better preparation for the Paris Olympics and Goorjian makes better decisions (we should have won against Germany in the rounds but didn’t)

@jpmasters-aus Mate, if Goorjian is coaching, I'm not sure I'll be able to watch. He was absolute Amateur Hour, and completely out of his depth. Australia got the Rose Gold in Tokyo DESPITE Goorjian being the coach, not because of it. He's atrocious, and my wife (who has zero interest in basketball), said to me "Why hasn't the Coach taken that slow guy off the court? Germany just beat him five times in a row". If my wife can figure it out.... the head coach of our national team should be able to!! 😅😅😅

Nice video. Josh is and has been my favourite player since he played for Adelaide so take anything negative I say noting I’m a fan. It’s a little difficult to compare FIBA and the nba with the rule changes, but in some respects, that just made his form look even better. There’s generally less room to operate in FIBA with smaller key, no 3 second defensive rule and the ball live on the rim. Australia were somewhat derailed with with Baynes in decline and not selected, and Jock getting hurt 1 week before the tournament, so they didn’t have a true big for pnr actions. In saying all this, Josh was elite getting to the paint and finishing both on and off the ball. He had one really poor game passing but otherwise this area was also exceptional.
On the glass he was good and it was needed with Australia having to play small.
However, defensively he struggled at times (he got ripped in a timeout in the Germany game for being asleep), but his 3pt shot was really off all tournament. You noted 2/12 being a small sample size, but he turned down at least that many open 3s as well. His release looked off all tournament from 3, even pregame he was barely making any.
While he doesn’t need to be a 40% guy from the corner, and he has improved each season, he needs to continue to develop his release. Continuing to improve his strength and D will also keep him on the court more so he’s not being subbed offensive for defense in close games.
I’m hoping for a huge season from him, if not from a numbers increase, from an efficiency improvement.
Some nice video clips. Wish you had shown some of the Germany actions to highlight areas for improvement in his game. It was awesome to see those games live and from the front rows. Spotted myself 3 times in your vid’s.

It was weird because (on TV) it looked like whenever there was a foul and Giddey put up a 3 his action looked good. Maybe its a confidence thing and when there is no pressure it looks good. But that doesn't really explain the pre-game shots (unless he's putting pressure on himself in the shoot around?)

Giannis is 8 years older than Giddey ! Presti is looking 10 - 15 years down the road , not just the next few ones. Let the team develop & savor the ride. This could be a dynasty happening as we watch & enjoy. 🤗

@@Vickypabz Chet plays the same role as Giannis so there would no point in trading for him. Also Giannis is 28 and near his prime but OKC’s core is young so they wouldn’t trade for a star player who was over the age of 24/25 the only players who they would get in there late 20’s to 30’s would be good veteran players not star quality players since they are moulding this young team from a young age to have good chemistry and good habits. That all being said Giannis would be way to expensive to acquire and pay each year for his salary especially since SGA is so expensive. Bottom line no way would OKC be interested in getting Giannis and no way Giannis would ever be interested in leaving the Bucks. It’s just not happening and doesn’t make any sense in the slightest to make those moves for either team
