This was a good video. Everyone who's tried to teach someone to drive a manual had your facial expressions lol. But the smile on her face makes it with it!
@@CadillacJones If the person had experience with manual I would. Since my C5 is automatic it’s a definite yes as the car is a pussycat when you don’t have your foot to the floor.
I think she did great for the first time! Especially in a cammed car you may tell her to feather that gas rather than giving it gas that may help I need to get my girl in my cammed C5Z much love and happy driving!
Great advice. I said that and I think I edited it out. Looking at the video I could've done better at teaching her. Next time we'll work on clutch Management as opposed to throttle control.
She did a great job for it being her first time. That's not the easiest car to learn on! I taught a lot of people in the Evo and I learned you really have to break it down and make sure they understand the concept first. Makes things go a lot smoother when they're actually doing it. Good job teaching. You had more patience than I thought you would 😂
She really did. When editing I got mad the first time when I kept saying clutch and she ignored it. Other than that, I see more mistakes that I made in teaching her than she did with driving. Next time we'll focus on clutch Management. That's how they teach you how to ride a bike. But I tell everyone about you giving me the keys to the Evo when I had no idea what I was doing. Even in the comments on here.
@@CadillacJones bro it can be tough teaching people. She probably heard you but was too distracted by what the car was doing to comprehend at the time. I'm glad I could help in your journey. I remember when I wanted to learn and nobody would let me touch their car. So I went and bought one and learned on my own. After having the car for a while I just wanted to give other people that chance to learn.
I've been there before with my wife lol, wanting to teach but also wanting to smack her and say OUT!!! you where more patient then I, especially in the Z06.
She actually did good, im teaching my girl this weekend on my c5z hopefully it goes as well. You should bring her back and go through the remaining gears.
She did really good for a cammed car. I’ve driven a manual since I was 12 (46 now) and when I started vette shopping I test drove 1 that was cammed and it totally threw me off the only way to get through a parking lot was to slip the clutch the whole time are else it would jerk and make me look foolish.
Awesome to see you teaching your friend how to drive a manual! She did pretty good. As for teaching someone in my 2004 Z06. That would be a hard no. I feel new manual drivers should start on a beater car. I learned how to drive a manual in my Triumph spitfire that was passed down from my grandfather. He told me if I could learn how to drive a manual he would give me the Triumph Spitfire I Sat in that car that was parked on the side yard and moved the stick shifter back and forth learning in order to move that shifter was engaging the clutch. Then I took it for a drive of course I stalled a couple of times. Then it was all natural for me driving a manual. I was hooked all my cars are manuals.
Usually I would start her on something different but my brother used to let me drive his Evo when I wasn't the best. It taught me a lesson. Keep driving those manuals and enjoying it.
My step-sister wants me to teach my nephew how to drive a manual since our V is a 6 speed. Shooo, that boy is either all on the gas or all on the brakes in/on everything he drives. Ain't happenin
I learned how to drive on a manual, but it had been a good fifteen years since I last drove one. I did the rocking yo-yo thing with my wife and kids in the car, so embarrassing 🤣🤣🤣
😁 I hear the song playing now . 😎

I appreciate it. 😂😂 You're right though. She'll never forget the experience. We'll get her back in it to learn it.
Glad no one got hurt... good job!
😂😂
You are a brave man and a good friend.
Thank you sir. Would you do it?

Not feeling it huh?
Good job Love, you did well! Great teaching and patience T.
We appreciate it Phyllis. When are you going to drive it?

😂😂😂 dude, I'm glad you understand 😂😂
Alright you gone have to get yo ass out of here 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you got a lot of patience bro, I couldn't do it.
😂😂😂 bro, it's like she wasn't listening. But I'll have a different approach next time. We'll focus on the clutch.

She didn't do bad at all. As a matter of fact, I noticed more things that I should've done better to teach her.

She did. Cammed cars are a different animal. I learned on this car so it's easy but if you put me in a regular manual car....O Lord.

Maybe not the smoothest of launches, but hey, look on the bright side: at least she didn't take off like a gun.
That's what I was worried about. 😂😂 That's why I said clutch and brake in the beginning.
The engine sounds really nice now
That's actually an older video. Going to pick the car up tomorrow. It's been done long enough.
