@@ziggyboogydude1 Actually two drummers. Larnel went to percussion with this one and nate sits in percussion all his life since he knows how to do it so well
This is one of those songs that makes me marvel at human creativity.... like how can people come up with these chord progressions, these basslines, and still make it groove and swing in such a musical listenable catchy way. I fucking love it!!!
Kirk Mason I enjoyed reading this. Three years after you posted it. If I was 40 years younger, taller, better looking, and not happily married, Atardi world be mine!

I can't believe how in touch Snarky Puppy is with the coolest musicians around. It's amazing. I love Knower!!
Oh my God!!! Snarky Puppy and Knower together!!! And Corey Henry and Jeff Coffin in the same band. Have I died and gone to heaven. You make this very old man feel like I did when I was a young man and young musician. So much fire!!! I am actually crying tears of joy. You young musicians are so gifted and are so true to the spirit of electric jazz and progressive, hip, intelligent lyrics and delivery. So much heart and rhythmic power!!! All of you young artists give me so much hope for the future of music. Thank you so much for this collaboration. You literally brought me to tears of joy. Your music sounds so victorious. Absolutely magnificent
Genevieve is one of the most underrated singers. I hope Genevieve and Louis Cole would be part of Snarky Puppy on their future albums. Btw, Genevieve is so gorgeous on that outfit, I'm not gonna lie.
I really don't understand how people who are listening to this live can remain calm... i'm dancing and crying in my bedroom, if i were there i'd probably lose my mind
With knower! WOW, this is like when i found out Hiromi played with Stanley Clark! Amazing combo! I found another musical unicorn! Sidenote : The government knows when you play with Snarky Puppy...
Fantastic sound techs. With 2 drummers,a percussionist, 3 background vocals,1 lead vocal, the bass, the guitar, the sax, and horns. This ain't no 5 piece band
That bass line is ridiculous. Michael League surely has the last say on how all these records sound, but he never puts himself at the front. Always just gives the sound the support it needs and rarely more. But that bass line is just ridiculous!!!
Lord, Louis and Genevieve are absolutely smokin' here. How many electro band musicians could keep on top of Snarky Puppy at this level. Incredible stuff!
I see all these comments about the song sounds like Dirty Loops but KNOWER been doing these type of tracks since 2010...so its sounds like an KNOWER track and feel to me than an Dirty Loops
I once saw Knower open for Kamasi Washington (or maybe it was Vulfpeck, can’t remember at the moment) at Red Rocks Amphitheater and I accidentally made Louis Cole drop his drumstick in the middle of a solo just by thinking about it. I know that sounds crazy, but that’s 100% what happened. Freaked me the fuck out.
Louis Cole is the Buddy Rich of the 21st century. Absolutely the greatest living drummer, plus all the other things he does. He's a "jack of all trades, & MASTER OF ALL!"
Wow Becker Brothers Tower of Power but now young people even better Who said music is dead? You people tickled my soul made me feel so good Louis Cole Snarky Puppy your an inspiration God bless you Your the future of my past
How utterly wonderful is this? It makes me weep with admiration and awe. Such fantastic musicians and production. Such tight playing and singing. Louis Cole is an amazing drummer!; his and Coffin's duet is historic. Exclamation marks are coming out of my fingers!!!!!! Thank you, thank you.
Someone suggested, hey let’s slow it down a little, make it bouncy, throw in some subtle reharms and some funk flavor .... the result, baddest version of “I Remember”, EVER!! Can’t stop listening to it.
Incredible, of course. Also of course, it's recorded in NOLA and the audience members are all issued headphones. WTF?! This kind of shit makes me happy to be alive!
When I first heard this it was playing in the background while I did other things. I didn't know who it was but thought it might be Brecker during the Jeff Coffin solo. Brecker influenced a lot of players and it is so distinct you always hear it. Must be rewarding as hell for Mr. Brecker.
Woah this is like a train that refuses to stop at any of its predetermined stations. Once you get on, you don't get off until it slams the concrete barrier where the stations, and tracks end. Choo choo train, take me to meet my maker.
Discovering this for the first time. If anyone is feeling down during the pandemic/scamdemic, turn this on and turn this up! These folks blew me away, and I know that I’m understating things. Groove on!
Fairly certain this is the bassline that made Cory lose his mind. He mentioned it on a periscope stream. Just look at what he and Mike are doing in the chorus. Unreal.
+Adam Marshall I was just thinking that, is that entire bass line actually just completely scripted?! When I first heard it I just thought Mike was grooving it out on his own but they're literally in unison throughout the chorus. Ridiculous
+Adam Marshall honestly I think the whole harmony and bass lines were written by Louis Cole himself. If you listen to the last Knower album you'll hear plenty of this awesome stuff.
+pietrogirardi yeah that's certainly true. I just think from hearing this and what Cory said, Mike took the baseline, in the chorus especially, even further. He certainly changed the placement of some of the stabs from the horns and synths, and the bass line works with those changes.
The original Knower track has a much simpler version of the same bassline. It's definitely been "Leagueified". This whole collab is just disgustingly good. Such talent.
Wow, Louis Cole and Genevieve got such an original vibe that even with Snarky their sound soars out on top!
this comment!
Fact!
Agreed!
they make everybody better.
She sounds like Pauline Wilson.... of Seawind.
I'm watching this in the weird part of the night
What's the weird part?
Me too
@jajajah86 What are you quoting that from?
@@matijamikovic5756 Weird Part Of The Night is a Louis Cole song.

Great to hear Genevieve recorded in a way her voice shines as it should. Snarky is like the Noah's Ark of bands, 2 of everything. love it
2:34 - Wow listen to her scat in perfect unison over that sick Brecker line with saxes!
I had that part over and over again to be sure she was actually scatting; it was just so perfectly in there.
It literally took me months to even realise, and i listen to this obsessively
ya, wow I missed that sort of as Ive heard this song many times.
She has a master's degree in jazz... she knows what she is doing.
That's my girl.
finally a sound engineer puts Genevieve's voice to the front!!
Indeed... so many instruments at the same time and it sound perfectly!
Louis Cole has very particular preferences regarding mixdown and sound. Both him and Genevieve sound so different on collaborations.
Yeah man. I don't know why they always mix her not looooud enough.
hard to beleive that there are 2 drummers playing.. they are in perfect sync. They are like machines!
I literally just said the exact same thing!!!
Jomonger and obviously Frank Zappa
was thinking the same thing
pay closer attention : THREE DRUMMERS

Brandon Vu dude, take it from someone who has seen Louis live several times, he is absolutely THAT good

I can't believe how in touch Snarky Puppy is with the coolest musicians around. It's amazing. I love Knower!!
Bob Mintzer likened Louis Cole to Jacob Collier. No bigger compliment than that! And Jacob Collier is on this session, too. The cream of the crop!

Genevieve's skills really show here, when she sings the solo with the sax guy.
I was like DAAAAYUUUM GIRL!

this is soft compared to KNOWER
