- Riding east from the Bay Area, down highway 50 with overnight stops at a few vintage hotels/motels to North Carolina and its Wheels through Time museum and the tail of the Dragon before heading back west to the National Motorcycle museum with a "miracle" along the way :)
"No committee meetings.." Good one. I ride solo, always have.
Awesome video I just got a 24 nightster yesterday excited to get her broken in and riding on trips like this! very inspiring!!
Just passed 20,000 miles, great bike - enjoy!
What an awesome ride and answers some questions for me about the Nightster S I’m contemplating looks like she’s bone stock and works perfectly as is which is something I like to do. I have some loud bikes for when I want to screw around but some I do nothing too but ride as they are perfectly fine the way they were made. I’ve had 40 years to pick and choose my way though the myriad of manufacturers out there I feel personally this design by Harley is a smart move forward. Thanks for taking us along and safe travels
Great stuff . What a ride . Thanks for sharing !
Wow Mark, thanks for taking us all on such a great journey with you! More great lifetime memories for you!

Go for it!
Very nice ride, Mark. I have traveled both 50 and 80. Always headed some place else. I'm sure I watch it more than once.
Great trip! Great video!👍👍
Thx for an inspiration for me.
Hell of a ride you did there, enjoyed the video!
awesome mate what a trip
love ur story
Great video, am contemplating a nightster, never thought I would, so wondering about your luggage setup.
The back seat tail bag is a Saddleman, the bag on the rack is a Nelson Riggs that I built a plywood platform for, hose clamped to the rack with rubber protectors to protect the paint..... the bag slipped over it, making it easy to remove for the night, finally I use a waterproof backpack to carry my laptop.
Hi Mark! I recently bought a 23 nightster s. This has inspired confidence in me that I could make a trip from nw missouri to Colorado. I wasn't sure because I get about 120 miles safely with about 20 in reserves. Did you struggle finding fuel along the way? If you don't mind me asking what luggage are you using? Thanks and take care.
That’s about the range I average as well between fill ups and I never really had a problem. Sometimes I’d fill up a little earlier around 100 miles I think my longest was 150.
I’m curious which section of wiring harness went bad and if it was from a factory defect ( happens) or was it running on something and broke?
I am assuming it was a factory defect as there was no damage to the bike that would have caused it. It was the section from the right grip to where ever that clips into, its been fine ever since and the bike now has over 16k on it. One of the best bikes I have even owned!
