My father went to sea when he was fifteen years old in 1949. New York City was his favourite city. He sailed all over the world, but mainly on the American continent and Africa. Not as much on Australia and Asia. He also spoke warmly of Buenos Aires and Cape Town. It must have felt like being hit on the head with something hard and heavy for a teenager growing up in a rather poor family to see New York at that age. I believe it changed him too. Well it was a different world, and life at sea was very different as well. Dad told me they could stay in a harbour for weeks waiting for cargo. They surely must have gotten to know the areas well. My dad went to sea so close after WWII that he knew sailors who had sailed in convoys and had been torpedoed. They were so traumatized many of them that they never slept below deck. It was a different life.. Great video . Thank you. Atlas sure sails very well! I’m impressed by her performance! She’s a dream..🤠

Oh wow so thrilled for you . What a place to anchor up . I learn something off every video. I always wondered what happened if lightening ever hit a boat x
It would definitely mess up all the electrics, we were surprised you could anchor next to the Statue of liberty 😬
