i feel like gaius is probably very weapon dependant. I was using colossal swords and i literally just got on torrent and went in a mount v mount battle vs him and it was super easy, but I can see that fight being much harder if you dont have good reach for the fight.

Commander Gaius is a GREAT fight for player summoning. Keys are getting out into the center of that huge arena and away from the walls and light rolling. And watching out for that super rapid dash attack of his.

Divine Dancing Lion is cheese time for Magic. One of a few fights this DLC where the ability to stay at range trivializes so much of the fight. Struggled with him for a min on my Unga Bunga build until I swapped to a duel Blood Stars build and destroyed him, but my pure caster build made it look easier than a bird warrior, lol
A solid build, adequate scadutree fragments, NPC summons, Spirit Ashes, knowledge of boss weaknesses, and experience of the base game is plenty preparation to make all but the last boss plenty doable. Like many others I was expecting Malenia level bosses left and right, but that just wasn't the case. For reference, I'm using a RL200 CQ Tank with pure strength damage and I just don't have to break a sweat. It was harder for me to get past Mohg than most of the DLC bosses.
The blasted Commander Gaius and his prancing boar, I will admit Rellana is a thorn as well Mesmer (ran by mistake to his room not yet beaten) and Raddhan (not yet reached the zone) but, f--- that man pig duo. Is there a Boss on the big temple that he is on the way? The Finger boss is annoying and the Count is a cheese in of itself. Romina (scorpion/centipede/human) is also highly annoying. Putrecents Knigh (Great Fissure) is maddening. Dying Silunflower, just attack the head, which the boss makes it easy for all players. Dancing Lion Beast is a bother. Bayle is hard but fair when you see it's pattern and have patience for a tanky boss. The Knights held in the tombs (West, East and South) have been annoying with East and West the hardest of the 4 so far. The Golems are easy if you throw a pot inside them. Tree Sentinels are a blessing, the Gaol bosses have each a nice trick to them, with Lamenter being special. Midra is scary but fair. The only thing hard about NPC and Field bosses is how they have a lot of HP and can happen when you aren't ready (Bear Duo). Again, thank you From Software for those two Tree Sentinels.
@CallistoBeloved I took out the Divine Dancing Lion in my first attempt, we killed each other but the game registered it as a win and I am not complaining. The other Dancing Beast gave me a bit of an issue but, then I cheese it with ranged weapons and killed the Deathblight toads it thre to me.
I beat Bayle at level 9 in the DLC with a mage it took about 12 to 15 trys. My list of top 5 would go: #5 Giaus #4 First dungeon enemy guy #3 Bayle #2 Rellena most deaths and time #1 Radhan. But after 4 tires, I cheese him to death in 5 more with my Hello Kitty perfume attack
As someone who used dual bleed whips through the DLC, Scadutree avatar gave me the most trouble. Turns out a plant that can't bleed and takes reduced damage from whips on anything but its head was particularly troubling for that build.
As a Faith Ranged Caster build, I had the most trouble with Midra the most. As he forces you to go Melee range. All of my spells often miss. I can't use Giants' Flameball. The Lightning will just miss. I didn't use the Miquella Holy spells. So I just beat him up using Melee at the end. I really wanted to use the Incantations but I can't. So I had to resort to just hitting him till he's down.
All the bosses are hard until you Google their weaknesses. The final boss and Gaius was my hardest fights. I didn't really beat the final boss I cheese with perfume bottles.
I wouldn’t call using a weapon the game gives you cheese, but you do you. Still, you don’t always have to Google the weakness. Most bosses I figured out the weakness for by checking the messages placed by the fog gate.
Gaius was my hardest followed close by Radahn. Gaius would instantly rush at me and kill me in 3 seconds upon entering the room. This would happen 2 out of 3 attempts so learning him was almost impossible. Its the only boss I have ever cheesed just to get done with it.
i haven't seen hollow talk about it yet but miquella's broken rune from the scadutree avatar fight, removes the grab debuff so you can be grabbed again and not die.
Gaius just ticked me off. He just steam rolls you. I died 3-4 times just trying to start the fight. Once I finally just ran like crazy at the start of the fight, I was able to beat him 1-2 tries.
For me Bayle comes right before Radahn, and before Bayle, Commander Gaius, but this is because I primary play melee, and these guys are an absolutely nightmare because of the long combos then they simply jump 3km always from you , and think: "Ah! Maybe I should heal!" and you try to heal and they are up to your neck in a split of a second with 30 seconds combo
Normally I play big Unga Bunga 2-handed colossal weapon, but I played a bunch of the DLC with fingerprint shield paired with anvil on a stick, found Rellana to be one of the easiest fights, never even got to see her 2 moons lol Spelldrake + 3, the new shield talisman and the base shield talisman with dragon greatshield let you block pretty much everything, and staying close lets you punish her with some big hits. Though patience is still needed. The Putrescent Knight was also not that bad IMO, but that was because after seeing all the "holy required ahead" messages I prepared the black steel greathammer with sacred infusion and prayerful strike AoW, it absolutely melts that dude. Even Radahn wasn't bad once I used the lance sword (the one you get from Gaius) and fingerprint shield, with the incantation that reduces holy damage, biggest issue with that fight was the Holy Nuke of Antioch, that thing killed me several times and just felt like the cheapest thing ever, got him to a sliver of health several times and eventually summoned help, there I learned running to the sides of the arena is the best way to deal with the nuke, you can block it if you keep your back to the wall, still need some descent stats and holy protection though. Hardest for me was the Divine Beast, easily the hardest boss in all the DLC imo, got to it with a low blessing level still with my build from the base game, no new stuff, got killed way too many times thanks to the camera, it was just a really frustrating fight for me. Overall, this DLC made me fall in love with big shields lol
I think i died 2 times to dancing lion my first playtbrough and 1 time my second. He reminds me of the ulcerated tree spirit weird movements and hitboxes but managable if you learn the wiggle and trivial once you find the dead spots. Messmer sadly only killed me 3 times i just learned his moveset quickly and well its intuitive i loved his fight and wish i could've dont in longer. Rellana destroyed me full stop even on my 2nd playthrough just ruined me.
Final boss in nullified by ANY decent shield. Doesn't even have to be an amazing one. I see him as much easier than people claim, since shields don't nullify Mesmer, Rellana, Midra or Bayle to the extent that they nullify him.
I have helped many people as a summon to these fights. TBH, the number of people that die to the Mesmer grab attack from full to dead is by far the #1 cause for "Host has died". Radahn has the most deaths by random attacks for sure. The Bayle fight wins for "most likely to take up 10 minutes only for the host to die".
I agree with all the positions however I hate the final boss. If the entire DLC is telling you be patient and wait for openings then this boss is a complete lie because there are no openings and as far as I can tell no way to create openings, which every other boss has a way. I can't tell you how many times I died because I had zero stamina from trying to evade the ridiculous chain combos. Literally the only reason why I was able to beat that boss was because some kind stranger was able to draw its attention long enough for me to actually be able to attack. The only time I felt the final boss was fair was when the RNG was nice and made them walk at me rather then the lightspeed dash or throw out the 52 attack chain combo. There is also the complete BS random light beams that I absolutely hate. Nothing like getting hit and knocked back from a light beam from an attack not even pointed at you. Honestly the only thing that needs to change is a little less aggression and a way to create an opening. It would be really nice to actually be able to make attacks at this boss rather than run away the entire fight.
Messmer is so weak it’s disappointing. I expected Malenia 2.0, but got Morgot 1.5. On my first play though I killed him first try and didn’t even get to see his whole move set. Rellana, Dancing Lion and Midra are so much stronger
Many are in the opposite boat. I killed Rellana after a small handful of attempts, and did Dancing Beast in my first attempt, but Messmer? I had to take a break, simply because he was consistently wrecking me shortly after finding him.
It really depends on what order you fight the bosses. If you try to kill messmer right after rellana with like 7/8 scadutree blessing, he's going to be more tough than most bosses except the final one. I fought him early and struggled. On my alt character, I fought him at the end and he felt like morgott 2.0.
Everybody is listing the top weapons and yet no one put morg sacred spear w the bloodboon ritual, it been my go to since I got it from morg then DLC, I know it has a slow wind up but if the boss is distracted by the mimic or floating in the air, full 3 burst take 80% of health of the boss, plus I beat Melania with it in 2 try
Well i spent dunn how many tries trying to defeat the last boss, i killed most of the list (not all, since i never killed the fire dragon, or the tree, i left something for after ending the game, to have an excuse to play it more) in a few tries, but the last boss, took me more tries than all the other bosses combined by far >< . Second phase destroyed me everytime
the problem with Radahn is the bs he puts out. worse camera than Bayle for melees, horrendously bad optimized AoEs spam making the game almost a slide show even on good pcs, 120 pois and 46k HP on a hyper aggressive boss. he is the meme of "rolls a full string of combos and hit the boss once. repeat" the only other time I saw tons os people respec-ing and going for a full cheese build besides Gael. the only boss who took me 10+ tries on the DLC and gave me 0 satisfaction to beat, and I am a day 1 player and lived through hell Malenia, Niall and Radahns cycles. bosses like Rellana and Gaius are way fairer and rewarding after u understand and overcome them not to talk about the lacklusting post fight. I legit was "its just this?"
@@ImproveAlex do the following: call a good summon and watch it fighting. learn the boss moveset, timings, elemental dmg/resistences/weaknesses and then u restart again solo if u want. if u want to use summon to fight or any chsses builds its 100% your decision, its in the game and meant to be used my build was mainly FTH focused Flame on both Danes weapons since the best one is at the end of the DLC that I swapped for Holy or Lightning Incantations/Imbued dmg if a boss was resistence to other
After finishing all the bosses, my main issue is that I find really hard to see what's going on. The bosses throw a lot of sh*t on your face and to me, at least, is really hard to react. Eventually you either over power, or learn the move set, or find the weakness, or cheese. But never felt I was naturally learning to fight them.
So I’ve been doing NG7 at lvl 150. I was stuck on Bayle and Rellana forever. Even Bloodfiend arm wasn’t enough. I actually beat both of them with a Blood Infused Pickaxe with wild strikes. I have a strength/arcane build. I know it’s cheese but it’s NG7!
Putrescent Knight bugged out for me and froze at his spawn point. No way to get out of his pit once in combat so had to hit him repeatedly in the hope it triggered his pathing. Spoiler- it did not and he just went down like a sack of mouldering spuds. Will try him again properly another game.
rellana is way harder than Messmer , he gives many chances to punish him but she is always doing something . I literally used 4-5 perfect charged attacks on messmer but on her not even a single .
I don´t like the fact that Radahns light staggers, it doesn´t feel good at all you get hit by the afterlight and you are done you get hit by a chain of 20 hits I dont feel like it is 100 percent fair, his first phase is great except one move that is a bit questionable but the second phase how is that fair difficulty I dont get it which boss then doesnt have fair difficulty? Dont get me wrong but I feel like it is a bit overtuned with the stagger and aggression the rest is great
I personally put baeyl at #2. but otherwise pretty similar opinion to your placements. (though I personally found putrescent very easy. only 3 deaths on him the lowest of any of the bosses other than the flower who I one shot)
I disagree with Bayle and divine beast placement. Divine beast was quite easy. Bayle took me nearly half a day but I enjoyed every minute. CURSE YOU BAYLE!!!
Putrescent knight wasn’t really a big challenge for me. It took me like 6 tries once I learned its weak to lightning damage moves. Radahn and Mesmer were the real pain in the butt. For Radahn I played with the stone shield which I just hate to play with. But this fucker has just too many strong move sets which are impossible to dodge even with 60+ vigor and endurance with almost max scadutree blessings
Final boss is the only boss I think is genuinely unfair at times, the rest are fine to me To say it’s not is just fanboying and I say that as a player with 6000+ hours across the games His moveset is fine sure but the holy chains following each attack are bullshit that from added simply because he’s an easy boss without them. Ask yourself this, if he didn’t have the holy laser chains would he be harder then messmer? The answer is no And that means his difficulty is entirely based on one gimmick, a shit gimmick at that that doesn’t feel good to fight, and I say that having beat him 2 times legit 1v1 for ego and a third with bleed thorns gimmick
How are Bayle and Rellana below Divine Beast????????????????? The Lion fight definitely took less time to learn than any other Rememberance fight in the game. Lion prolly took me 3 tries, where Rellana was at least 10, and I left Bayle alone for most of the game after 20+ tries.
putrescent ranked as 2nd hardest boss is a crime, get any holy weapon and the guy will be dead in 20 seconds with decent rng, and his moveset is really simple so finding opportunities to punish is very easy.
I heavily disagree with the putrescent knight he isn’t that hard to know his moves and radahns second phase is bullshit by the amount of follow up light attacks and how hard it is to see radhn himself by that’s just my experience
That putrid knight is cancer. Just super annoying always creating distance. Literally never stop chasing him around the entire arena just for him to run again
For me Bayle was hardest, other bosses can either be tanked with a shield or just with high bleed builds, heck radahn with a tank setup was probably easiest than most here
This list makes no sense to me, Petruscent knight 2nd hardest? Midra Second Easiet? I never died to petruscent knight once without any summons in 3 playthroughs with 3 different builds, everything else killed me at least a couple of times. Midra and Bayle should be a bit higher. Messmer is easily 2nd Hardest. And no one in their right mind would put anything other than Radahn first ofc
i personally would rank Midra higher but that's only because my first kill i just...wasn't playing against him properly lol- looking back now im like "oh yeah...i could have done X or Y during that fight and wrecked him. Weirdly enough Messmer for me wasn't...that hard? Took me about...8 tries to get him down but compared to some of the other bosses he didn't FEEL that difficult (but i went into his fight expecting something like Malenia so maybe that's why?) 100% agree on the top 2, fuck the putrescent knight or whatever the fuck he is called.
Malenia is definitely harder than radahn... radahns moveset is not hard, but theres some bullshit in there that will piss you off, like the double slash into cross and the clones clipping your character.. not to mention the "visual spectacle"..
I'm not going to lie, i try to solo this, but it was hard for me cause if i did not kill them fast enough, they gang up on me. The big guy give me the hardest time with those Rot Pot i scare 1 of them give me rot asap.
Radahn 2nd fase is bullshit, don't tell me otherwise. Going blind, not googling builds or how to dodge his attacks, he is just a bit unfair. I've heard so many people not enjoying his second fase
so many of the bosses in this DLC are way to big and make them just melt to ancient dragon lighting its both funny and sad, the hippos even the mandatory one was just dead in seconds
Honestly for my BB build putrescent knight was by far the easiest boss. Literally 3 ash of war hits and he died. Didn't even interact with the mechanics
The first time i fought messmer it was a horrible experience my frame rate dropped and fell through the map on my second playthrough of the dlc i beat him first try it was a fun fight. With that being said rahdan is very disappointing to me as the final boss it should have been Godwyn after seeing it was rahdan i honestly i felt like turning my ps5 off and going to sleep it honestly felt like a waste on my time only saving grace it had was having dude jump on his back but i doubt ill even fight him on my second playthrough i dont see the point just to be disappointed more because it should have been godwyn not a boss ive fought 10 times already
I don't want to admit how many times that scadutree avatar murdered me 😔
Same lol, especially as a pure melee build
Blasphemous slays it
I buried it in its own fertilizer. Rest in doodoo you floral bastard 🌻
As a lvl 250 bleed melee build I absolutely died numerous times to that damn flower

It sounds like you were rusty, same lol
malenia killed me more times than all dlc bosses combined (except Radahn). Recency bias doing wonders
@@grayhat_9x Not recency bias if it is the truth. Malenia was less difficult for me than Radahn, Bayle and Gaius.
So many helpful videos pushed out for this DLC!!! Thank you and I hope you two have enough rest!!!
Midra being easy is wild! Died to him more than messmer
I ended up cheesing midra with mimic tear after about 15 tries because I was sick of having to go through phase 1 of the fight over and over.
@MitsuyaChan yeah I beat messmer like 30 and midra like 40. I was using a very slow build tho with no shield. Was playing hard mode.

Again, thank you From Software for those two Tree Sentinels.
i took forever for the sunflower, but divine beast dancing lion i beat in 3 attempts with like lvl 2 scadutree blesssing and bleed build
My list of top 5 would go:
#5 Giaus
#4 First dungeon enemy guy
#3 Bayle
#2 Rellena most deaths and time
#1 Radhan.
My reaction to gaius. "How the fuck do I fight back when there's a dam pig in my face?!"
5 great shield soldiers and a life steal apparently.
Best summons in the gaaaamme lowkey
Holy crap lol… I just now am realizing how much more damage I had to do on NG+4 at level 150… that’s genuinely crazy 😂
All the bosses are hard until you Google their weaknesses. The final boss and Gaius was my hardest fights. I didn't really beat the final boss I cheese with perfume bottles.
U beat him then
I don't see that has anything related to Cheesing. You beat him, with a powerful build that was considered out of tune. It was in the game.
I wouldn’t call using a weapon the game gives you cheese, but you do you.
Still, you don’t always have to Google the weakness. Most bosses I figured out the weakness for by checking the messages placed by the fog gate.
I completely mopped the floor with Rellana my first playthrough. Bayle is a blast to fight though.
You know what's crazy, there are only 4 necessary bosses. Messmer, romina, needle knight leda gank boss if you want to count it, and the last boss
Gaius was my hardest followed close by Radahn. Gaius would instantly rush at me and kill me in 3 seconds upon entering the room. This would happen 2 out of 3 attempts so learning him was almost impossible. Its the only boss I have ever cheesed just to get done with it.
I had nightmares of Commander Gaius and Raddhan.
i haven't seen hollow talk about it yet but miquella's broken rune from the scadutree avatar fight, removes the grab debuff so you can be grabbed again and not die.
I got grabbed by Miquella and nothing happened, wasn't sure if it was from frenzied flame or bug.
Big sunflower meet burn o flame with two giant seals
I dont think ive ever seen a 1 minute ago upload. But hey. Comment for algorithm ensued.
Not gonna lie, I died several times in my first few runs at Bayle because I was mesmerized by his move set
Nah that horse coming from behind me while I’m looking at the skeleton was od
Top 5 for - 1 Radhan- 2 Mesmer- 3 Bale- 4 Gaius-5 avatar
Hornsent warriors are no joke the toughest enemies in the game for me
I agree with all the positions however I hate the final boss.
Personally I’d switch the dancing lion with the skeleton knight thing.
I didn’t know giuas had a phase change…he charged my mimic an got stuck on the wall an i just thorns him 🤣
Messmer is so weak it’s disappointing.
The Dancing Lion was way harder than Malenia IMHO. Radahn was the hardest souls boss I have ever faced. Was really satisfying to beat him though
I had more trouble with Midra than meytr or the sunflower or Rellana. Bayle was harder than Mesmer as well
Everybody is listing the top weapons and yet no one put morg sacred spear w the bloodboon ritual, it been my go to since I got it from morg then DLC, I know it has a slow wind up but if the boss is distracted by the mimic or floating in the air, full 3 burst take 80% of health of the boss, plus I beat Melania with it in 2 try
Rellana killed me more than any other boss, found her incredibly frustrating
The only bosses i really had some trouble with was bayle and the final boss... i cant believe scadutree avatar isnt the first one on this list xb
Second phase destroyed me everytime
the problem with Radahn is the bs he puts out. worse camera than Bayle for melees, horrendously bad optimized AoEs spam making the game almost a slide show even on good pcs, 120 pois and 46k HP on a hyper aggressive boss. he is the meme of "rolls a full string of combos and hit the boss once. repeat"
the only other time I saw tons os people respec-ing and going for a full cheese build besides Gael. the only boss who took me 10+ tries on the DLC and gave me 0 satisfaction to beat, and I am a day 1 player and lived through hell Malenia, Niall and Radahns cycles. bosses like Rellana and Gaius are way fairer and rewarding after u understand and overcome them
not to talk about the lacklusting post fight. I legit was "its just this?"
Less than 10 tries for each dlc boss? Tell me you are using summons or some bs build
@@ImproveAlex do the following: call a good summon and watch it fighting. learn the boss moveset, timings, elemental dmg/resistences/weaknesses and then u restart again solo if u want. if u want to use summon to fight or any chsses builds its 100% your decision, its in the game and meant to be used
my build was mainly FTH focused Flame on both Danes weapons since the best one is at the end of the DLC that I swapped for Holy or Lightning Incantations/Imbued dmg if a boss was resistence to other
@@raphaelsilva6071 Thank you so much for the advice, and for sharing your experience. Game really made me feel like I'm not good enough.
Bayle did beat my ass the most but radahn is going to take that position soon
After finishing all the bosses, my main issue is that I find really hard to see what's going on. The bosses throw a lot of sh*t on your face and to me, at least, is really hard to react. Eventually you either over power, or learn the move set, or find the weakness, or cheese. But never felt I was naturally learning to fight them.
If you can beat Melania you can wreck this dlc. Stop limiting yourself to just being level 150 or just using melee.
Personally I'd rank Gaius at number 2, but agreed on the rest!
Dont get me wrong but I feel like it is a bit overtuned with the stagger and aggression the rest is great
I defeated Messmer on my fourth try but Midra took me days.
Putresent knight melted against lighting spear, as did the mother of fingers.
Their arenas are in water which probably explains the extra lightning damage
I personally put baeyl at #2. but otherwise pretty similar opinion to your placements. (though I personally found putrescent very easy. only 3 deaths on him the lowest of any of the bosses other than the flower who I one shot)
It’s got to be Radhan. But I don’t think any of them compare to what melania is/was
I disagree with Bayle and divine beast placement. Divine beast was quite easy. Bayle took me nearly half a day but I enjoyed every minute. CURSE YOU BAYLE!!!
"Messmer punishes roll spamming"
*video shows you roll spamming and it works*
Ok time to Help Fellow Tarnish Tank The final boss.
Final boss is the only boss I think is genuinely unfair at times, the rest are fine to me
To say it’s not is just fanboying and I say that as a player with 6000+ hours across the games
His moveset is fine sure but the holy chains following each attack are bullshit that from added simply because he’s an easy boss without them.
Ask yourself this, if he didn’t have the holy laser chains would he be harder then messmer? The answer is no
And that means his difficulty is entirely based on one gimmick, a shit gimmick at that that doesn’t feel good to fight, and I say that having beat him 2 times legit 1v1 for ego and a third with bleed thorns gimmick
Midra was so easy for me he didn't have time to do any of his moves
Bois its not if u can kill the boss, its if u can kill the boss with style. 😮
How are Bayle and Rellana below Divine Beast????????????????? The Lion fight definitely took less time to learn than any other Rememberance fight in the game. Lion prolly took me 3 tries, where Rellana was at least 10, and I left Bayle alone for most of the game after 20+ tries.
Hardest for me, after Radahn, was Rellana... Goddamn that woman has no stamina bar
putrescent ranked as 2nd hardest boss is a crime, get any holy weapon and the guy will be dead in 20 seconds with decent rng, and his moveset is really simple so finding opportunities to punish is very easy.
I still think the lion at 5 is crazy
what are your stats for the fire knight shortsword? that damage is crazy
For me Bayle was hardest, other bosses can either be tanked with a shield or just with high bleed builds, heck radahn with a tank setup was probably easiest than most here
the boss that gave me most trouble was bayle
This list makes no sense to me, Petruscent knight 2nd hardest? Midra Second Easiet? I never died to petruscent knight once without any summons in 3 playthroughs with 3 different builds, everything else killed me at least a couple of times. Midra and Bayle should be a bit higher. Messmer is easily 2nd Hardest. And no one in their right mind would put anything other than Radahn first ofc
Romina misses half of her attacks all on her own, I'm on ng+2 and have yet to die to her
i personally would rank Midra higher but that's only because my first kill i just...wasn't playing against him properly lol- looking back now im like "oh yeah...i could have done X or Y during that fight and wrecked him. Weirdly enough Messmer for me wasn't...that hard? Took me about...8 tries to get him down but compared to some of the other bosses he didn't FEEL that difficult (but i went into his fight expecting something like Malenia so maybe that's why?) 100% agree on the top 2, fuck the putrescent knight or whatever the fuck he is called.
bro dane's parry💀
So far the the first solitary knight was my hardest lol, just gotta kill the chaosdude, bayle, and radahn and i think im done ,
Godwyn or Miquella would’ve been better than the repeat of Radahn
