One extra point, Bob, it's a good idea to fill the fuel tank with 'winter diesel' (usually available in garages from the middle of November. This has more additives to help prevent sludge forming in the fuel system and keeps any water at bay!
Good idea. I now run my tank to about just over a 1/4 in Sept / Oct and like you say go out in NOV and fill it up to 1/2 with the winter diesel. I almost got caught out this year around FEB when we had a fierce freeze down to -5 but generally summer diesel is good for as low as -4 but I waited until the day got to around +5 in the afternoon then popped out to get the winter diesel top up :-)
Yes good point, keep your tank topped up.
I always give my car a service in september, ready for the wintertime (fall), new tyres, oil change, new windscreen ( windsheld ), wipers🏴

Good advise there Bob , like you Bob we use our van in the winter and that’s a good idea about having a water container in the van that’s something I never thought off we need to get a container sorted asap 👍👍

I like the idea of having a water container inside the van for drinks and flushing the toilet if you do think there is going to be very cold weather whilst you are away in the van. Really liking the fact that every one (including caravanners) use them all year round 👍.

You can buy an additive for your diesel for all year long that keeps everything in your engine clean.

Our water tank is inboard, I don't think it would freeze with the van in use? 🤔
No not unless it gets cold inside too. Ours is outside.... We have tank heaters, but no point risking it.
We cannot leave the heating on our van as it is in store. Have you always been able to leave heat them or have you previously left a van unheated? If so did you experience any damp after leaving a warm van that you cooked in/ showered in etc. thanks.
I've always been lucky enough to be able to have my motorhome on the drive and plugged in.
Janet , take all the cushions out and put damp catcher boxes in the Motorhome if not using for a while also leave the cupboard doors open let air circulate
