It should also be pointed out Uri Gellar didn't even invent the spoon bending tricks. Psychokinetic silverware is a type of magic that has a much older and richer history, invented by show offy brothers, sisters, uncles, and fathers while waiting for mom to finish dinner hundreds of years ago, if not older than that. There's a known fact about magic that it's not the inventor who gets the credit for a trick, but the one who becomes the most famous performing it. Still, it's weird to try to get a copyright on spoon bending. If anything I'd say he had a stronger case against Alakazam whose Japanese name was an inversion of his own, but even then, parody law you'd think would be there. But I guess Japan doesn't have that.
Its actually quite simple, in Japan honor is everything, so their defamation laws for example are so strict that even if you are telling the truth, if telling the truth hurts someones honor you lose the case.
So he felt identified in a card and instead of making a profit from it he made it disappear for 20 years and now that he isn’t a magician no one knows about him (this gen don’t know sh*t) he wants to release the ban off the card. Hilarious just cause it benefits him. Celebrities are hilarious
Oh shit, I think I have one of those Dark Kadabra cards. It’s one of the dark versions of one of those 3. Might have to dig out my cards and check, even if it isn’t worth anything, just cause it’s a neat story. Abra and its evolutions were a few of my favorite pokemon when I was a kid, especially Alakazam. And I have multiple Alakazam cards, both holo and not. Interesting story that I wasn’t aware of though.
Wow what an egotistical prick. Who sues a company over something so benign as that? I would have taken it as a compliment. Like wow, my fake abilities are so well known that even a company wanted to reference me in one of their character names and in a positive or at worst neutral light.
He said that it’s interesting that still no new cards have been printed, but that’s because the Pokémon hasn’t been in a set for a while. And I don’t even think he was in the previous games, that being sword and shield
I just binge watched all of your videos man they're so good, I was surprised your channel wasn't bigger. You're going places bro, keep up the fantastic videos!!
@Abdirahman Ahmed ok first of all hes lucky theres a pokemon named after him second the pokemon company probably meant no harm to his career they just liked his magic so much they made a pokemon card about him to most likely give HIM more fame
It's stupid to sue people just because of a trading card. Like we get you aren't pleased but do you really have to sue for something that stupid. God and for 100 million dollars wtf dude. He didn't even invent Spoon bending god damn dude. I'm really mad because now he was claiming the card is "his" and wants it to be all good. That's not gonna make them forgive you because he made them lose 100 million dollars.
Never heard about that guy before that ... Maybe he is a US celebrity, but never heard about him in France ...Anyway another pathetic celebrity acting even more childish than a child ...
He was pitiful and did it to grab some money and by doing that he ruined a lot of fun for every young person on this earth and now he says it's ok to yet again gain spotlights for his museum! I don't like his personality it's all about him and money there is no moral reasons or that he feels bad it's just another money grab trick which makes me dislike him even more.
Sort of! Originally I uploaded this video on my RuneScape channel, but I figured it would do better here. So I re-recorded the audio, added a bit more info, etc. :)
5:58 you say "all of the sudden", I have never heard that mistake being made before, but thought I would help by correcting you, the phrase is, "all of a sudden".
Happy Halloween!! 🎃 Don't forget to leave a like if you enjoyed the video. :D

Everybody is serious in Japan. That's why their humor is weird.

LOL I just realized the X-files is making fun of Uri Geller in multiple episodes
Imagine suing a company made for all ages because your delusional
“Water, earth, fire, air, spoon”
It was one of my favorite pokémon as a kid. I guess that explains why it wasn't more common :c

"Watch me make this card disappear"
Uri Geller:"Makes card disappear"
Me:"Where is it now?"
Uri Geller"20 years in the future"

In a world of lying to be tricky is the true talent.
if he lifts the ban he should return the money he gained from the lawsuit settlement
@Abdirahman Ahmed i mean he did deserve that
@Abdirahman Ahmed Its just an innocent pokemon card i belive he was overreacting
@Abdirahman Ahmed ok first of all hes lucky theres a pokemon named after him second the pokemon company probably meant no harm to his career they just liked his magic so much they made a pokemon card about him to most likely give HIM more fame
Great video, Nello! You don't hear much about Uri Geller these days!
Thank you! I actually hadn't even heard of him until I started researching for this video. :)
5:53 a different company makes games from the ones that make the cards
I remember seeing that Johnny Carson episode when it aired and I thought, "Damn, this guy's career is over." I guess I was wrong.

@@romanticchild2307 Yeah it just a card no reason to sue over it and then tweeting 20 years later that it YOUR card is just beyond childish
3:30 the character in Alakazam's name フ is a combination of the f and h so it can be used in words with either an F or an H
I wasn't expecting a maxmoefoe pokemon clip
Great video man!
Imagine suing a huge company for naming something after you because they liked your magic so much.
this channel is so great, subscribed
Thank you so much!!

So... money.
I went to my pokemon collection to see if I had a kadabra card
I have 5 of the dark kadabras and 8 of the kadabras. And one holo version
this guy uri geller is a clown
Anyone else get a Pokémon ad on the video LMAO
Narcissists love causing drama for attention and/or financial gain.
If I had a pokemon card made after me I would be honoured… And I dont know anything about pomemon!

Thank you! :D
i like your videos bro very informative, keep it up
Thank you! I will :)
5:30 if you can't find details I doubt he won. courts usually report everything
Yeah I think its likely they settled out of court. Either way he got what he wanted by having the card banned.
I had no idea kadabra disappeared like that! Great video, nello!
Thank you! :D
Wait what?
There are no kadabra pokemon cards in the past?????
Wot? Isn't this a re-upload? I swear I've seen this before...
