I had a 2008 VW, one time went with a friend up some mountains to a restaurant, and parked on an incline that had a vertical cliff at the end of it. When we were about to come back home I did an uphill start in reverse to back off the parking spot, and that was the time I discovered the car just disengages the handbrake when you press the clutch. The car started rolling towards the cliff (1 meter away from where I was parked), but thankfully I reacted quickly enough and managed to back it off before the front wheels crossed the edge. After that I had to stop to catch my breath, me and my friend literally saw our life flash before my eyes. The ECU was probably also the reason I destroyed it years later, the ABS just engaged out of nowhere when I was breaking before an hairpin, the car understeered because it couldn't brake in time and I fell down the field below. I wasn't hurt because I was going rather slow, but the car went upside down and the front and top completely destroyed.

@@kapilbusawah7169 Cars have a Front Wheel Brake Bias: the front brakes will brake harder than rear. If you're braking the front wheels on a fwd car they'll just stop. You can use the handbrake to lock up the rear brakes, however this does require a good rear brake setup to properly lock the rear.
Let the clutch slowly to the bite point first so you don't snap anything and once you start to move dump the clutch and the tires should spin without everything being shock loaded And if you wanna stay there move your foot to the brake
People go on about the clutch, car arts wear that's life. I've done 100s of donuts drifts and burnout over the last 3 years on the same clutch. It has also saved me crashing cause of the experience it gave me.
First tip: do NOT use the foot brake in a FWD, use handbrake instead (my 60hp Polo can burnout so wild) Second: try to do launch burnout (drop the clutch, don’t use brake) to see if your car can even overspin its wheels for a standing burnout Third: don’t do burnouts often.
Seeing a lot of uneducated people here, This tutorial only works on RWD cars, on FWD cars its different. 1. Put it in 1st gear 2. Pull the handbrake 3. Clutch fully in 4. Put you foot on the accelerator and wait for the revs to fully come up 5. As soon as the Revs limit you dump the clutch. (If it is a low powered car, you will need to kick the clutch as the revs go down, when you should kick the clutch depends on the power band of you car) A lot of people seem to think this will completely burn/destroy the clutch this is not 100% wrong but it is also false, it will wear a bit more than a normal shift since you are holding the clutch and suddenly releasing it while fully reved out, but it wont kill the clutch, for that to happen the clutch would have to already been abused prior to this or you would need to overheat it, to overheat it you would need to dump the clutch like that at least 4 times(of course it all depends on your clutch and the power you output), after it starts to overheat you will start to feel the clutch binding, after this you should stop let it cooldown for some time, you can still drive it back home but try to short shift it or you will burn the clutch even more. Also a lot of people seem to not know how brakes work, the brake pedal engages all the brakes depending on your bias its could be 60% front and 40% back depends on the car or whatever setup you are using, that is why it is significantly harder to do a burnout on a RWD car since not only you need to output that power where most of the weight is shifting, you are also using brakes, to stop this you could use a brake lock line or just squeeze the brake line that goes to the rear. While the handbrake only engages the rear brakes, this is why it is easier to do a burnout on a FWD car since again the weight shifts to the back and the front wheels lift and that weight goes to where the brakes are engaging. I hope I cleared some confusion up and it informs some people, happy tire burning :)
