Why do people ever complain about roots or patchiness? TBH when she bleached her roots with the red I was like FUCK YEAH because she looked like a fiery princess. And dark roots with dyed hair like FFFFFFFFFUCK YES. Gorgeous. Flawless. And patchiness?? It gives so much depth to the hair in my opinion I LOVE it. Having it all one perfect color isn't nearly as interesting and beautiful.

In my experience of blue hair, when it gets to that gross kinda green stage, like when it's light enough to, I usually put a pink based colour on top and while it's pink until it fades it should fade back to the colour you have underneath the colour. If that makes sense haha, you're awesome by the way, love your videos ☺️

omg same, I've always dyed my hair a deeper red (afraid of bleaching) but it wasn't until I found her videos that I started learning/researching more on hair dye and stuff- I felt like such a scrub lol :P
Brooke Stuart yeah I don't use what Ellie does but I came across a permanent red dye called goldwell elumen in the color rr@all and I've been using it since like 2013.. I go to a hairdresser. I've never dyed or cut my hair myself and because I've had this hairdresser since I was a teenager, she's more like a friend so she doesn't charge me a ridiculous amount for the dye. She also isn't even a goldwell salon so she hides it just for me 😅 most places that have that dye charge you $100 for a color (she charges $40 like any other color) because it lasts so long and doesn't fade to an orange or pink color.. Mine fades to a duller red I guess but it's still red and not burgundy or auburn. Also I have dirty blond hair naturally and this dye sucks on roots so if you have darker hair you have to bleach and dye your roots separately.

It looks amazing. Omg. I find the "patchiness" gives it dimension which is awesome. I've got say, I've had awful staining experiences with Manic Panic dye. I'm pretty much a Directions girl now. Not saying that doesn't stain at all, but I didn't have to throw out my shower hose from it. XD (We used to have a white one and one session of Manic Panic dying and it was bright pink. lol)

you should use vitamin c and anti dandruff shampoo to get colours out, it leaves.your hair dry but works well getting colour out!:) it's what I use when changing colours and it's a God send 🙌
Shannon Davies I used head and shoulders which removes dandruff and it helped a LOT ^_^

I am 66 years old and just dyed my hair blue last week. I used ADORE, it's the best : ) it lasts 8 weeks and is only $5 and no bleach. Its the best if you like to change your hair color a lot : )
I think it looks really nice with the brighter blue fading into the dark. It's almost like dusk is settling into night!

I've recently went from pink to blue and couldn't be happier! I love that I can wear pretty much any lip color and not have to worry about it clashing with my pink hair. Blue is so universal :).

From my experience blue has been the color that most stains have made especially on my green glasses, but it's the best color I've ever had. You look super stunning and looked really adorable when the dye didn't come out of the pot 😂😂💜

another tip to help strip colour is too put shampoo in while your hair is wet and wrap it in something. i found that it helped get colours out better than just washing it in the shower.

the blue looks amazing! i remember when i dyed my hair blue i had to use a lot more bronzer/ warmer colours in my makeup routine as for a while i felt it drained my skin out a bit but other than that blue hair is pretty easy to deal with :) it really does look fab
the dark patches make it look even better than it would if it was all solid one shade of blue tbh

I strongly believe people have staining issues for one reason. Most people are to afraid to rinse the hair till the colour of the water is clear as they're afraid to lose too much colour. But if you dont rinse properly, you will get staining. I never have an issue with staining including from my recent hot hot pink by manic panic because I always rinse properly.

I getting my hair dyed (again) but this time I'm going for some super bright maybe neon colors! My roots are about 3-4 inches long, so it's been about 2-3 months since I got my hair done.
I love the way the blue came out! The first time I fully dyed my hair was with blue. It was a crazy experience and not many people noticed because I was the quiet kid at school. My mom did awesome with my hair though, she dyed it 3 times and bleached I have no idea, I bleached my hair way to many times then I needed to.

Dandruff shampoo does too, any shampoos with tar in them also i.e. Coaltar....or any clarifying shampoo. Use in weeks leading up to re -colouring. .or use a colour remover like Oops

Red is actually harder to get out of my hair for some reason idk why people say blue stains i can usually get rid of the majority of the blue with a bleach bath or two. Red is just difficult.

I did green and it only lasted 3 weeks before it was a pastel mint green, I went blue next and it lasted 6 months! I just went over it with purple it turned out so good, I love this blue you did!

I used Splats blue envy . I've been using mixture of clarifying shampoo and baking soda and it's stripping it right out. :)

Thanks for the info. I started dying my beard with Manic Panic a few months ago and I was going from a vampire red to midnight blue and this video helped.
I did red to blue too. I used the Manic Panic bleach because that was what I had.. And it literally turned my hair a neon pink..Yup. but I left it for a day, went and volunteered and got a lot of strange looks, and dyed it that evening. I used the shocking blue, so it's more of a navy and man does it look good. I have a love hate relationship with it xD.

I stopped using manic panic cause its so bad and not cheap at all. Arctic fox is the best dye i've ever tried in all 6 years i've been doing my hair..

I use the Schwarzkopf live xxl colours on my hair. I currently have shocking pink on and even when I wash it in hot water it doesn't run a much as manic panic or directions did. Try that and see what you think ellie x

If you're hair is damaged from bleaching you should try coconut oil or avocado hair masks (maybe look it up first cuz i dunno weather or not it strips out hair dye since this one morning after using color oops and then dyeing over it with brown, I slept with coconut oil in my hair and woke up to red oily stains on my pillow- I used to dye my hair red, and was just like wtf). Although I do know for a fact that Sally's has a bunch of that stuff so you can rampage through their store buying hair products heheh (I'll be doing that on Black Friday lol :P) Dunno if you already know this but sulfate in shampoos/conditioners is what takes out the color. (I love the blue btw :3)
I just recently fixed up the roots of my black hair but now I'm seriously craving going pink again. But I know better than to try and strip the black out so soon after it's been applied. So I'm going to attempt to keep my promise to myself to not change my colour until at least the new year. And the only other thing stopping me is how much my hair has grown since I went back to black, it's finally getting long again and I'm terrified of destroying it.

I can't believe what I'm seeing, how did that even work? Every hairdresser I've ever talked to has said that any warmth in the hair will turn blue green but yours came out a perfect blue, I'm very confused but it looks amazing
As i training hairdresser i totally do not recommend you use 12% please if possible use 9% and follow instructions if its not light enough just wash dry and re apply!! 💖💖

I used manic panic rockabilly blue and shocking blue and it surprisingly faded out almost completely except it faded a bit pink but it was so freaking cool.
