I remember waiting such a long time for Jesse to do a full playthrough of the game, I especially would have liked to see what he thought of the story. :/ I hope it's possible that he'll do Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, especially since it's focusing on the story much more than HM1.
Jesse just for future plays: - Always use shift to take a look at the place, that way you can plan in advance! - When you have your cross air sitting over a person use the Middle Mouse Button to lock-on to that target, way easier that way to shot at a specific person after running around a corner - If you shot someone and hit they die. In the last level where they stood back up it was because they got knocked out by the door :) It's great fun to watch you playing this game, please continue!
I like the differences in how Jesse 'n' Dodge respectively portrayed the voices of the characters xD. I actually find it a tad more amusing than the game-play itself !! Great work !
Jesse, you should definitely play through the rest of this game. Not only is the gameplay, well, like you've seen, but the story is nuts and just gets more and more crazy the more you play. I think you would really enjoy it.
Definitely would like to see more! Its not a long game even so its not a huge commitment.Worth noting though that you can lock on to targets. Makes situations like the couch guy, where you have the run around a corner and shoot immediately, MUCH easier. Also, all of those purple dot letters are used in a puzzle to figure out a password later in the game for an alternate ending. You aren't that far in you could get the subway one pretty easy and do the alternate ending as well.
I really really wish Jessie had done a full play through for the channel. I absolutely love this game, and it would have been awesome to see him try and figure out the story.
Until today I'd never heard of this game before. First Dodger mentions it in a new video, then I come back to the playlist I was watching of your old stuff (this is pretty much the only playlist I've yet to watch) and the next video was this. What a coincidence!
I've only just started watching the video, but I have finished the game. I don't know what Jesse did to put you off, but the game is an amazing experience, and once you start looking at it as more of a action-puzzle game rather than just an action game, it starts to make a lot more sense.
I will continue to occasionally suggest Space Funeral for a Fan Friday because I legit think you'll love it, Jesse, and it's a rather short game, all things considered :3
I for one agree that you should do it as a series... It becomes a real mindfuck in the third act, and just gets progressively stranger as time goes on.
Jesse:*Takes the "Fists of Fury" tiger mask.* *Proceeds to use guns for the rest of the level.* Me: *Facepalm* That's what happens when ya don't pay attention to details, I guess! Not to mention that he skipped over the tutorial text explaining how to pan your camera around or lock onto enemies with the middle mouse button! xD
That's exactly it. When you're trying to describe your thoughts out loud as they happen, it's easy to stop paying attention just long enough to miss something important that's only mentioned once. You can even pick up on something, believe that you learned it, but forget to recite it because you're talking about something else and don't want to cut yourself off, and then somehow end up erasing it out of your short term memory as a result. And it doesn't seem to get better with experience...
I love how Jesse plays this game the exact opposite way I've seen others play it. Instead of cunning and stealth, Jesse charges in guns blazing. Like a badass.
21:08 "So I got thirteen thousand points out of a possible 800 and 5000? How does that make any sense?" oh Jesse. You're so good with math, I think my teacher had a heart attack.
You should watch Campster's "Errant Signal" on this game, he claims that the stealth sections are in there to prove that no matter how the story advances if the core gameplay loses focus a game becomes less fun. He explains it much better though...
idk bout anyone else, but i picked up "to the moon" during the winter sale. such a beautiful story, and the aesthetics pretty amazing reminiscent of old jrpgs. i really think its the kind of game Jesse would enjoy.
This was WAY better than Dodger's Hotline Miami videos. Her play style is just too cautious, and she never used a gun. I like your run n' gun style SO much more.
I've watched numerous amounts of Fan Fridays, but in my mind I still complete his sentences of "It's time for another exciting episode of" with "Mc. Pixel!"
@JesseCox There are 2 ending but none of them really contribute much. The letter 'T' you collected is one of the letters which make up the password for a computer that you'll interact with just before the end of the game.
Just started doing a combo run of this game, uploaded the first part on my channel. Was fun to watch your first hands-on, Jessie. Glad you liked it too >:D
The best thing about this is that you actually don't have to kill anyone. The objective says nothing about killing anyone but what people do is that they go in and start making a mayhem. Really good experiment of the human mind. To make players NOT kill in a video game you have to specificly tell them not to kill anyone. :p
The controls were pretty damn tight imho. Only problems I ever had was my own ineptitude-- idk maybe by the time I'd played it they were updated or something.
I like how jesse called the ending except the horse is the memory of his girlfriend and the owl is the memory of the last boss (they wear the same clothes as them)
i got bored today, so i just clicked on jesse's channel. well the vid-feed was just watch watch watch watch watch watch not watched?... *click* love your content jesse! keep it up!
Had a rough day at work but it ended alright..hands are swollen and in pain but I'm in a hella good mood. Even got celebratory White Castle! Then I make it home and find that Jesse has a Hotline Miami video..hell yeah!
I just love the way the weapon system works in this game! The way you CAN'T carry extra magazines, encouraging you to get a few kills and find a new weapon. I feel like the concept of NO RELOAD could be applied to more games, like a character who duel wields weapons. Realistically and AWESOMELY, he wouldn't reload by taking the guns away from the screen, pause, and MIRACULOUSLY the guns are reloaded. Come on devs! Hasn't the Matrix taught you anything? Just drop it and pull out a new guns!
21:10 "Thirteen thousand points (13000) out of a possible eight hundred five thousand (8500)". Jesse Cox just inventing numbers.
8005,000
I remember waiting such a long time for Jesse to do a full playthrough of the game, I especially would have liked to see what he thought of the story. :/
I hope it's possible that he'll do Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, especially since it's focusing on the story much more than HM1.
this is florida-man the game.
Jesse just for future plays:

Do more Jesse! I already did those levels, but missed a lot of lore newspapers you found, so it's worth watching again. Plus you're just the bomb :D
Seriously out of all the fan fridays this is the one that I want more of the most
I was secretly hoping you'd do this as a playthrough! Love this game, please do more!
Definitely want to see you do a play through!
Jesse, you should definitely play through the rest of this game. Not only is the gameplay, well, like you've seen, but the story is nuts and just gets more and more crazy the more you play. I think you would really enjoy it.
I for one would love to see more of this, I think both Jesse and the viewers would love it
Definitely would like to see more! Its not a long game even so its not a huge commitment.Worth noting though that you can lock on to targets. Play more!!!
That games looks like buckets of fun, and it was deffinitely entertaining to watch you play it.
You mad this playing game look even more fun than I expected. :D
I'd love to see you play more of it, Jesse!
I really really wish Jessie had done a full play through for the channel. I absolutely love this game, and it would have been awesome to see him try and figure out the story.
Dude you gotta do more of this. Lol best thing to watch before going to work xD Your awesome Jesse!
"The most trippy thing I've ever seen in my life"
Jesse, do you not remember ANY of Fahrenheit??
Until today I'd never heard of this game before.
First Dodger mentions it in a new video, then I come back to the playlist I was watching of your old stuff (this is pretty much the only playlist I've yet to watch) and the next video was this. What a coincidence!
man you just don't know how your vids cheer me up whenever i'm feeling down and don't know what to do..
I would love to see more Jesse because of the story. I would love to see how your lore shaped mind can peice it all together in ways we can not.
It would be great if you did more, it's not the longest game either so it would make an excellent mini series. Keep up the funny work Jesse!
turn this into an lp, i've never seen you so excited jesse!
The story gets more crazy as you go on, you should play through all the way through it!
omfg Jesse, PLEASE play more Hotline Miami! this video was absolutely hilarious! I WANT MORE! KEEP GOING! :D
Please, Jesse, we want more! This game is even more bonkers than you think. And the boss fights are crazy intense!
Jessie! Please please please please PLEASE play this as a series! It's perfectly messed up enough and plot twisty for you to love it!
I've only just started watching the video, but I have finished the game. I don't know what Jesse did to put you off, but the game is an amazing experience, and once you start looking at it as more of a action-puzzle game rather than just an action game, it starts to make a lot more sense.
Jesse: Hold shift to double your view distance. It really helps when scouting out for enemies, and is essential later on. Also MOAR PLZ :D
I'd love to see more of this, and would also just love for this game to have more exposure from you playing it. c:
Oh God, I laughed so hard xD
Please make more of these, this could be your new playthrough
I did not expect to enjoy watching this so much but did quite a bit.
Jesse you should totally do a play through.
:)
The points after level is points needed to unlock a new weapon/item. The between levels are your character picking up their cash after each contract.
It's only available in the US right now, I presume you're in an EU region where you get the preorder message whenever you click on it in steam.
the voice you used for guy at about 14:20 reminded me of bentley from sly cooper
I want more of this, this commentary was awesome!
Oh please dead god do more of these. I haven't laughed so hard in a while
I will continue to occasionally suggest Space Funeral for a Fan Friday because I legit think you'll love it, Jesse, and it's a rather short game, all things considered :3
I for one agree that you should do it as a series... It becomes a real mindfuck in the third act, and just gets progressively stranger as time goes on.
Probably the best fan friday you've ever done.
Jesse:*Takes the "Fists of Fury" tiger mask.*
*Proceeds to use guns for the rest of the level.*
Me: *Facepalm*
That's what happens when ya don't pay attention to details, I guess! Not to mention that he skipped over the tutorial text explaining how to pan your camera around or lock onto enemies with the middle mouse button! xD
I would totally love a Let's Play of this with you Cox. So good.
PLEASE PLAY MORE I LAUGHED SO MUCH ALL THE WAY THROUGH! GENUINELY ENTERTAINING
Are you going to play more Tokyo Jungle with Crendor?
Jessie, this was a nice piece of content, i would indeed love and enjoy more of it.
I love how Jesse plays this game the exact opposite way I've seen others play it. Instead of cunning and stealth, Jesse charges in guns blazing. Like a badass.
This game is fun to watch, it would be cool if you did more of this one jesse!
21:08 "So I got thirteen thousand points out of a possible 800 and 5000? How does that make any sense?"
oh Jesse. You're so good with math, I think my teacher had a heart attack.
I'd like to see a playthrough of this... and you being the history-nerd you are, you are going to love putting the plot pieces together
Jesse you should really do more. This was a great video!
You should watch Campster's "Errant Signal" on this game, he claims that the stealth sections are in there to prove that no matter how the story advances if the core gameplay loses focus a game becomes less fun. He explains it much better though...
i know jesse is juggling a bunch o games, but could this replace dishonored? (once it's done of course)
Oh man I lost it when you did a Crendor impersonation for that bearded guy!
idk bout anyone else, but i picked up "to the moon" during the winter sale. such a beautiful story, and the aesthetics pretty amazing reminiscent of old jrpgs. i really think its the kind of game Jesse would enjoy.
You definitly need to play more of this. It will be awesome
Please more! Be careful what you wish for Jesse I already see a whole episode of you just trying to kill one of the bosses to no avail.
Pixel!"
I think its as boring as frustrating as hell this when you play this yourself, but watching you play this Jesse is frikken hilarious!:P
are you going to play more of hotline miami
Knowing you and this game, I think everyone would enjoy seeing you play Receiver from Wolfire on a Fan Friday.
I picked this up in the holiday sale, it's great. I freakin' love the music in it... it's very atmospheric.
@JesseCox There are 2 ending but none of them really contribute much. The letter 'T' you collected is one of the letters which make up the password for a computer that you'll interact with just before the end of the game.
Jesse, please tell me you're gonna play more of this? (:
Just started doing a combo run of this game, uploaded the first part on my channel.
Was fun to watch your first hands-on, Jessie. Glad you liked it too >:D
Definitely want to see more from this Jesse :D
Jesse if you ever do a full playthrough you need to remember to throw weapons and use the shift key to look around. These tips will really help you.
Yes, play more. Eventhough I've finished this game, it has the soundtrack of the year.
More of this Jesse. Played this game twice already. You'll love the ending.
Of course we want to see more of this. We want to see more of everything you do.
Definitely should do more of this man. It's an awesome game.
more please
dude youre actually pretty good at this game for ur first time
Yep, you playing this game is pretty damn great. Please continue Jesse.
The best thing about this is that you actually don't have to kill anyone. The objective says nothing about killing anyone but what people do is that they go in and start making a mayhem. Really good experiment of the human mind.
To make players NOT kill in a video game you have to specificly tell them not to kill anyone. :p
i love the sounds jesse makes when he;s at his focusing-high-tension-moments.
"Did he bleed out of his nose?" I can't stop laughing! :D
make a series of this game MOARRRRRRRRR
Jesse you should livestream fan friday and edit highlight for the channel
The controls were pretty damn tight imho. Only problems I ever had was my own ineptitude-- idk maybe by the time I'd played it they were updated or something.
I like watching this game more than any of his current playthroughs
Holy shit, this is one of the greatest things ever. I would love it if there was more.
Yes we would love to see more Miami Hotline, Jesse. And by the way you kicked Dodgers ass, nice going
If you're still thinking about doing this, I would like to see some moreo of this
I need you to finish this game, you make it fun to watch and im not gonna play it myself.
Yeah, I definitely want to see more of this.
I like how jesse called the ending except the horse is the memory of his girlfriend and the owl is the memory of the last boss (they wear the same clothes as them)
i got bored today, so i just clicked on jesse's channel. well the vid-feed was just watch watch watch watch watch watch not watched?... *click* love your content jesse! keep it up!
This has to be a walkthrough, not just a fanfriday!
MOAR! this is a very fun game to watch you play!
Had a rough day at work but it ended alright..hands are swollen and in pain but I'm in a hella good mood. Even got celebratory White Castle! Then I make it home and find that Jesse has a Hotline Miami video..hell yeah!
I definitely want to see more of this!
Did you know you can lock your cursor onto a target by pressing down on mouse three (most commonly known as the mouse wheel)
WE need more of this!!
YES make this a series
how could i not ask for more of this
can someone please link me to the podcast?
I just love the way the weapon system works in this game! The way you CAN'T carry extra magazines, encouraging you to get a few kills and find a new weapon. I feel like the concept of NO RELOAD could be applied to more games, like a character who duel wields weapons. Series please?
hasn't come out on PC yet, check steam.
