Buyer Beware! I used it less than 2 dozen times and the pump disintegrated. It will be $1700 to replace it. No repairs, no warranty, and I have to pay them $45 for them to tell me its broken and has to be replaced. I know they don't make the pump but they will not tell me who does so that I can get replacement parts.
It's worth the money if you do emergency preparedness. When it first came out you could have made crazy money by selling the food, but now there are too many sellers. If you go to a church I would pool your money together to buy one to make meals for members for emergency and also for charity. It's a lot cheaper and better quality food than buying cans for food drives.
Buyer Beware. $3K. 34 batches later and it doesn't hold vacuum. Customer Service had me download and install updates to software (why wasn't this communicated before!). Didn't work. Actually sent me instructions to go out to store and buy Teflon tape and self-fusing silicon tape to attempt remedies. $3K and I get to repair it with tape after 34 batches. The problem started on 8/26. Still not resolved as of today with numerous tests run. Hit or miss with CS personnel. I've had a poor one and a terrible supervisor. By the way, I posted this on their website and "after moderation" it was removed. Only positives allowed apparently!
Our small and standard freeze dryers use a standard 110 volt outlet. At peak, the freeze dryer draws about 16 amps, but on the average about 9 to 11 amps (990-1210 watts) of power per hour. A dedicated 20 amp circuit is recommended. Your freeze dryer will cost an estimated $1.25-$2.80 a day, depending on power costs in your area. Our large freeze dryer requires a 110 volt (NEMA 5-20) outlet. At peak, the large freeze dryer draws about 16 amps, but on the average about 10 amps (1500 watts) of power per hour. A dedicated 20 amp circuit is required. Your freeze dryer will cost an estimated $1.25-$2.80 a day, depending on power costs in your area.
@@Raja-wj8zn But it has to be freeze-dried or dehydrated in order to be used to make chocolate bars without the deadly 'Cane' sugar. With chocolate making, you cannot mix dry with wet.

Can it freeze dry honey?
No. Honey is one of the very few foods that can not be freeze dried.
@@harvestright Thank you, what are the others?
Pure honey has no expiry,so no need to preserve ! Only adulterated one perishes
