That's a great tutorial, thanks mate. I've done this job on the same model van and oh boy, those inner bolts are a pain for sure.

Perfect. Just saved me a lot of time figuring it out by myself. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the video.. but my van is riding low now. Any thoughts on how to reset?
One thought is when I loosened the nuts on the new controll arm it didn't spin like yours it was tight but did move . Is it meant to spin and be loos like yours?

      Hey Gnarly,
loosening off those bushes won't impact the ride height, the point of doing it is so they get tightened up when the van is close to normal ride height. This is so that as the van sits on the road, the bushes are not already being stressed, and then torn when the suspension needs them to flex even further as you hit bumps and things like that.
I'd suggest your torsion bars are the issue, double check your measurements on the adjuster are the same as pre-teardown. If they are, it's possible the bars have accidentally been re-indexed. If there's room left to adjust them further, tighten the adjuster again (with front wheels off the ground), lower the van, recheck height.
If there's no room left to adjust them further, the bar/s will need to be disconnected again, spline rotated and refitted into the socket which bolts onto the upper control arm. This will give you room to adjust them higher.
      Hope this helps!

I’d like to get this done while I have the engine out of the van. Will the difference in weight affect the gap between the bump stop and UCA?

It will change the gap, yes, but not radically. Just add a couple mm to your measurements and you’ll be right!

Is the a difference in sizes between 4wd and 2wd as ive got one fitted it all up and now my wheel hits it and ideas it all looks the same just wondering it was as simple and one haveing a bigger ball joint

I’m not too sure there, it’s the part listed for a 2wd van & I haven’t had any issues with wheel clearance. I don’t imagine it would cause rubbing, but is the shaft for the two main bolts the right way around, not spun 180 degrees?

Ive checked that. maybe the parts store has just givin me rong part

Just checked the clearance on my van, and there’s approximately 12 or so mm of clearance between the wheel and the closest part of the ball joint, as the car sits naturally. I suspect that would get closer with downward travel, but it certainly doesn’t bind up at all.
