The Republic Gunship or LAAT (Low Altitude Assault Transport) can do it all. This heavily armed repulsorlift is effective in air-to-air and air-to-ground combat as well as troop/supply transport. They played a key role in nearly all atmospheric combat in the clone wars, and are among the most well recognized and beloved ships from this era in the Star Wars universe. This minifigure scale brick-build model has an excellent smooth shape. It's built strong, holds two minifigures in the cockpits, and has functioning sliding doors with considerable space in the hull.
The bundle includes instructions and part lists for 5 different variations of the Republic Gunship. There are two variations for the Clone Wars inspired design, two variations of The Muunilist 10 design, and a variation inspired from the gunship as it was seen in Episode Two.

I've been so annoyed with that there is no perfect one. I was making a perfect Muunilinst 10 gunship similar to these designs before they dropped but this is so accurate I'm giving up and buying them
And the are minifig scale, none of that 2.5 scale stuff

I love how Lego releases the UCS set and BrickVault fires back with a whole bunch of these one that are minifig scale. Bravo!
I love how the UCS version added incorrect minifigs (they wanted the clone commander to be the pilot etc) and it wasnt even minifig scale

This, in my opinion, is the single best piece you guys have released yet. Yes, that includes the ISD. These builds are perfect, genuinely and undeniably perfect.
@ryan davis If you want a display model buy the UCS one but if you want something for dioramas and play with chose the custom one.
@@lancejay4958 I wouldn't say it can be played with. I got this gunship and it is more for display and MOCs than something to play with. It also uses quite a few illegal building techniques in the wings. I wouldn't say this a weak model, but it does have some weaker points like the doors and wings. If you want something for MOCs, then this is for you. If you want something to play with, I would say the old version of the brick vault gunship is good for that. I personally don't have it, but their video on it shows that it is very strong and well built.
Even just for display purpose, I would pick this gunship MOC over the official UCS version any day.

This model is amazing and imo outdoes the UCS version in everyway especially for display as it's to scale so you can put troopers inside. I also love the brick built cockpit over the molded cockpit, but that's just preference.
Well the ucs is mainly for display i think
If you’re showing it with clone troopers, this is also size accurate, where the ucs model is 2x scale
@@namialus1376 Yeah, My issue is that lego purposely made it 2x scale when they have done to scale UCS sets (for example the UCS Naboo Starfighter). I know it's purely personal preference, but I think minifigures help display sets, there's a reason why the UCS millennium falcon comes with so many figures that can actually be used in the set.
good thing too because you can't afford the UCS.

This is what I wanted from the UCS version. The only downside to a custom model is not getting printed domes for a cleaner set of ball turrets, but I think I like the Clone Wars model better anyway.

Great designs, easily the best republic gunship I’ve seen in Lego although I feel that the ball turrets on the episode two model are a little over -sized.
The one thing I was waiting to see/hear in your video was the handling/stability of the model in hand. Are there any bits that are weak and fall off? Can the model be handled very much at all, or is it only for stationary display? How strong are the door connections? Do they fall off or detach easily? How does this compare to his previous model in size? Otherwise, great video and great builds by David! Cheers.

I kinda like the shape of the old one better. Not saying there aren't improvements here, but I find the other one is a bit more rounded off in the front, which looks better in my opinion
I'm so happy to have bought the bundle and already buildt the Ep. II version. All I now need is more money for (at least) the Muunilist 😅. But my AAT MOC and a landing platform comes first.

You forgot to do the handling part showing us how strong it is in certain areas also I liked it when you showed the model next to some of your other builds so we can get a sense of size

I just started building the Clone Wars variant….sooo excited. I wasn‘t convinced with Lego‘s UCS Gunship because of the scale. Turns out building THIS with used bricks is much cheaper than the officiall Set.

I wonder if Dave has a Build for the Republic Gunships, Dropships, AT-TE Walkers and ARC-170 Starfighters for the Clone 104th "Wolf Pack" Battalion because that would be really, really cool to see or even use in a larger MOC! The stand and the Models even out class the build from UCS that came out a little while ago!

they missed a few details for the Muunilinst 10, in the series their gunship has a bench and weapon rack inside the holding bay and a medical table.
Probably even better that the UCS one, tbh.
