Commissioned for the 100th anniversary of the Calgary Stampede Showband of Calgary, Alberta, Samuel Hazo has created a stunning and inspired work for mature players. The title (taken from the Latin phrase "Jubilate Deo") is indicative of the pervading sense of ceremony and jubilation. Bookended with a broad and powerful fanfare, the exuberant allegro section features a spirited pulse with mixed meters and soaring melodies. A dynamic percussion score is inherent throughout the work all the way to the dramatic finish.

The end of that last powerful chord gives me goosebumps every single time.
They blended so perfectly exactly at 4:49. :o
I always listen to these even though I know I probably will never play them. WHY DO I TORTURE MYSELF!?!?!?!
I play along, then I perfect it lol, I do that a lot with these scores
I do that too, but It's not anything like like doing it with a real band
Doge Music Productions yea same, I always try to recommend these pieces to my director but we never play them lol
Ikr?
Doge Music Productions because it’s damn good music!
at the beginning I was like this doesn't look that hard then I saw the 16th note run for the clarinet and flutes and I was like OMG hard
Nah those are 32nd notes with you 16th note in the middle lol
at the beginning
So, I am at an honor band and our conductor is Hazo and we are playing this. His expression on this piece is so much different than the way this is being played but it still sounds beautiful!
We totally were! Hey Megan! :)
at the beginning the percussion is so lively great job
Absolutely brilliantly done, the percussion nailed it
Well being that this is all digital. I would say they nailed it as well
Canozaki56 this isnt digital hal leonard has their own recording band to play tbese songs, my aunt sometimes gets called in to play clarinet with them
@@Canozaki56 If you think that sounds digital you either didn't listen or haven't heard a digital concert band
My band commissioned this piece, it was fantastic to play!
It was so much fun! I have my part (signed!) framed in my house :D
You were in the Stampede Showband?
@@Sonicfan-cc1te yea
