Cycle the Black Paths, Craigavon

Craigavon’s active travel network - designed and built in the 1960s - is better known locally as the Black Paths. Previously, there were no maps, signage or other means to navigate this complex network of cycle lanes. In 2022 we began researching the routes, discovering the history and mapping the entire network. We unearthed over 40km of segregated cycle lanes in the Craigavon area, extending toward Lurgan and Portadown. This is a 20km journey covering the network around the Brownlow area.
