I think the snow, etc, makes a lot more sense if you think about references from the film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? It's all about choosing to forget good and bad memories to not feel pain, but the main characters in the film find each other again on the train after forgetting. A lot of the landscapes in the mv look like idealized/utopian versions of darker scenes from their other videos like the train station and city from Fireworks. When we first see Yunho and Yeosang on the train everything's perfect, but then when they look out the window it's starting to snow and then in the next shot they're running, only to find that they can't get off. Then as we see more and more of them and they find each other on the train, the snow/old memories becomes more prominent. They're no longer walking in front of the rain and not looking back, the snow is there in the carriage with them, but there are all of the plants to symbolise life/good memories too. It's like they don't want to lose each other, and as the video goes on they end up dancing in the snow as they come to accept the presence of darker memories as the price for having each other.
the snow actually have an important meaning in their story...they said the part where they are hugging together inside the train with snow is gonna be their last one before they lose their memory...because if you can read in the lyrics from the start, they are talking about what you want to remember if you could only save one memory, and in that hugging scene the lyrics is "I want to remember it farther than eternity" I'm getting emotional from the lyrics even though I'm smiling watching the MV another thing about this MV is it shows the different seasons & weathers, like there's sunny/summer, fall/cherry blossoms, spring/greensss, winter/snow and the rain...but I feel like they are stuck in an illusion of an Eternal Sunshine..
I do not know if it is different in korea but in japan cherry blossom season is in april in spring. So that chery blossoms symbolises fall does not make alot of sense to me. Would rather say that the rain is fall and snow is winter, cherry blossoms are spring and greens (with sunshine) is summer.

we can all agree that there's something fishy about eternal sunshine, the snow (reminiscent of the 'answer' mv), the almost false reality like 'Illusion', someone dragging hongjoong on that damn train and he acts like it's nothing, also this whole mv being is the utopia version of fireworks mv where its all ruined then 'The real' playing at the end on both mv's - in conclusion their storyline is so intense and i'm losing brain cells trying to keep up lol
Theres a theory that the snow is not actually snow but theyre inside the cromer (hourglass) its a part of their storyline, plus its an element in other mvs as well like "answer"

i’m not sure if you’ve watched their fireworks music video but if u have, u might notice similar sets between eternal sunshine and fireworks! they use the same train and city (in fireworks mv we see this city burned down and we see a run down version of the train used here too)
Ateez are known for their creative props at their set...as they don't have a really big budget but they do an amazing job tbh... This reminds me of Fireworks mv where they used a tree which was actually given by one of the members dad

I had a similar idea because in Korea, it will always snow, but in this song the sunshine will be there. Sunshine and snow is still a sunny experience, and the snow won’t stick if it’s warm enough. That’s my very literal interpretation. I don’t know Ateez storyline or anything like that.
The snow is part of the storyline. It already appeared in the "Answer" mv (which is highly recommended) and it's important that Hongjoon is the one standing in the snow first. In the "Deja vu" music video he's the one seeing his Halateez version but later on all the members are in the snow either way. Just like in "Answer". I wonder what Woosan have to do with the storyline🤔
You should react to fireworks/ I'm the one! I don't usually care for mvs, but ateez has some of the best mvs; they're very well produced and are very artsy/artistic. I think maybe the camera move at 5:27 is an homage to a similar shot by Michel Gondry in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. There's a scene where Kate Winslet gets pulled backward on a frozen pond. At least it shot made me think of that movie, not just cause of the title.

I'm pretty sure, based on the track list of the album that eternal sunshine happens before deja vu. And in deja vu they keep mentioning a feeling of deja vu, because right after this mv they lost their memories. So they keep mentioning in the lyrics that they want to remember each other.
The reason you see rain, snow, cherry blossoms, and of course sunshine, is because it's representing eternal happiness (sunshine) throughout all seasons as long as they're together.

i was thinking that the train from fireworks mv had finally reached utopia hence being the same train in eternal sunshine. but i’m thinking that it’s all just an illusion because why did “the real” start playing at the end? did they think they reach utopia or something but it was all an illusion and everything starts becoming “not real”..? 😀
