This helped me a lot....i mean a lot! We recently adopted a baby girl (She's 3) but we had no idea how to do her hair and she has a lot of it. I knew it was really important to keep her curl pattern but we had never dealt with her hair type. This helped a lot, although we use less product and only pick it out. I wanted to do braids at first but after watching your videos I was like how would you get a 3yr old to sit for that long and do the up keep 😳😳 no way lol. She loves the wash-n-go method, thanks!

Hi there! So my daughter is biracial and it has taken a lot of education but I applaud your interest in the knowledge to do your daughter's hair. As for getting a 3 year old to sit, my daughter can sit for over an hour now for me to put in braids. It has taken us a while to get there, but we did it! We just make it part of her routine, give her something to distract her, and now she loves it! Some days are easier than others, but now we can do braids no problem. Thanks!

unpopular opinion: you do NOT need to drench your hair in your products to get the curl definition you want. the product build-up that you'll receive is not worth it.
my biggest tip? section your hair & then distribute cream evenly throughout the hair.
*also wet your curls with cold water & apply cream curls when your head is upside down in order to achieve bouncy curls :)
X. Jay9 this is my biggest issue with so many curl videos. I cannot put so much stuff or my hair gets gross and just not good. Lol

I've been using this method that a lot of curly hair girls recommend & i've seen amazing results! some of the recommendations include using more than 1 product-- something which i never understood the logic of or did but decided to give a try.
i wash my hair with cold water & conditioner, apply a leave-in + curl cream + anti-humidity serum
then i diffuse until my hair is 80% dry & let the curls air dry the rest of the way through.
I have seen incredible results after doing this & now, i'm able to have my curls last 4 sometimes 5 days!!!

Marci Ross hey, love! Try using the brand Bella Curls. I apply their leave-in & their curl defining cream & then I use Garnier Fructis anti humidity cream.
***All 3 products together but I warn you to use Bella’s Curls sparingly***
Then I diffuse with the hand diffuser (got it on amazon for like $10) until it’s 80% dry.
I also wrap my hair up @ night with a satin scarf.
With all of this, I can make my curls last 4-6 days no lie!!!
I never thought it was possible for my curls to last that long (I used to have to wet my hair every day) but I finally figured out the right routine for me.
Also- make sure you’re using appropriate shampoo & conditioner (a brand that is great for curls with no sulfates like Maui Moisture) & for even better results, wash your hair upside down with cold water & dry your hair with a soft t shirt.

Bluehair Anddontcare I cant, every hairband I use breaks, and also me trying to find a large enough hair band is a struggle. Then actually putting the hair and in my hair without it breaking is a pain. My hair is too thick😂

I'm only 11 but our hair is soo similar. My hair looks like yours when I get out the shower but I need tips soo I love watching your videos. My hair gets really dry in the front and its puffy in the front. But towards the back my curls are looser and more laid down.

PSA to everyone: If you don’t have a micro fiber towel you can use a T-shirt. Leaves no frizz... works better than a micro fiber towel for me

i have ALWAYS been told that if you get any product off of amazon, or like at cvs or Walgreens, it’s most likely to be watered down. That makes the chances of the product to kick in and interact with your hair less likely. I always get my deva curl products from the salon, where they also say the chances are for it to be less watered down.

Alajah Burns have you considered combing your hair w your fingers bc that's how I brush my curls lol it's faster and the curls come out tighter bc I separate my hair into two parts I learned the trick by another youtuber and I loved it!❤
I comb only with conditioner in rinse use a morracan hair oil bit of leave in conditioner for anti frizz and aveada curly product .wrap up then let out and scrunch it a bit

hey girllll, so I used to have the same problem and i thought i would share the way i fixed it! basically i comb just the bottom part of my hair when i condition in the shower, and then once im out and my hair is still wet, ill go through my hair with my hands and with leave in conditioner while twisting the curls! hope it works if you try !

I don’t have natural rough curls like yours but I have naturally frizzy wavy hair. I’m hispanic but have I guess “white girl’s” hair that isn’t rough, but it’s still frizzy and SO TANGLY ALL THE TIME. I absolutely hate brushing my hair. I have no idea what products to use because I’m the only one in my fam with this hair type. I tried oils but most of them make my hair too greasy and heavy, even with a little. Like when my hair’s wet and I add these oils or leave ins and it dries gross lol. SOMEONE HALP
P.s. One thing I did find that helps, if someone has my hair struggles, is to use lots of conditioner in the shower, leave it for a couple min and wash it all out, I also switched to sulfate free a couple months ago AND LEMME TELL YOU IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE 100%. Then I dry my hair with an 100% cotton towel, and sleep on my wet hair. In the summer time when it’s hotter it usually drys when I’m up and air drys fine but in the winter it doesn’t really dry so this method doesn’t really work out. I’ve stayed away from heat for a lil over a year and that makes a huge difference in the health of my hair
Luce and Van hi I am white , I have curly with friz, it looks a lot like her’s when carefully done. Before the dry combing not as much volume but same size ringlets. I shampoo no more than twice a week and co or conditioner only wash a few,
I can only comb wet with conditioner in, rinse, then I add a hair oil product , leave in conditioner and aveda curly cream my hair is still pretty wet as this go in then I wrap and scrunch let out and go I never dry my hair but if I wanted to a diffuser would be needed.
I hope that helps. Also if you ask around for a hairdresser that is good with curly hair a good cut helps layers to keep the weight right and open up the curl pattern

from what you said about your hair, it seems as though you don’t deep condition, i would recommend putting any oils in your hair before you shower and let them sit for a while first (i am no hair professional but this is what ive seen work for both me and others) :-)
I️ use a hair oil and use only a tiny tiny bit like a drop and just use it through the ends; then use deva curl and I️ don’t rub it into the scalp mainly focusing on the bottom half of the hair. I have found this keeps my hair from looking oily!
Luce and Van Use aloe vera, some olive oil, and a good conditioner as a deep conditioner. Then cowash, detangle, and condition. And put gel in and scrunch. Then pin your hair up at the roots, and diffuse Also, a good hair cut might come in handy. If your hair is long, then that weight could be weighing down your hair.

I would try this routine but my hair used to be the same length as yours but I cut it mid neck around thanksgiving and it looks like an Afro when I leave it out. And I have to tie my hair often bc I wear the hijab so I would try this when my hair grows out longer lol
Riya A you can still do it with short hair just cut the amount applied on the hair way down and maybe it looks Afro when you brush it out because of the frizz? Plus you could do a loose bun with a scrunchie instead of tying it when you put the hijab on.

oooo and use sulfate and silicone free products, Jasmine doesn’t do this and it’s so bad for the health of your hair. Try curlypenny, she’s good.

Idk, that’s just way too much product for my preference. The hair wouldn’t feel clean and fresh after the wash at all.
You don’t have to drench your hair in product in order to have defined curls section your hair put a conditioner/leave in and then add a curl defining cream
It all depends on your hair type because people with Dry Curly hair you will need to add lots of product to prevent frizz and achieve moisturized hair
