- Check out this awesome DIY CV boot banding tool I made for tightening CV axle boot clamps. Some CV boot bands can be reused and some clamps have to be tightened with special CV boot clamp pliers. I am replacing the damaged boots on my ATV CV axles. TOOL LINKS BELOW:

just built one on the weekend, I curved both sides in to narrowed the end that pushes against the clamp to a little bigger than the clamp and I was able to do the joint while the axle was still attached to the diff., Worked awesome. Thanks for the video.
Awesome, you're welcome!
This works amazing. Took 5 minutes to make and can use either end. Suspect it works better than the commercial version.
I know it works amazingly well.
thank you for your beautifully simple design i love it. and i nearly zero hope of finding anything that wasnt a waste of time .
You're welcome 😊
Thanks for the video. Going to save me a lot of time and money today. With all special tools that is required today to repair cars it's great to be able to construct some of them yourself. Thumbs up!
Thanks man you're welcome.
I found a hook and I turned buckle took the two separate hook into eye bolts out and it replaced it with one long one and did the same thing for $5 with no welding. But your video gave me the idea
Yup, it doesn't take much. You just have to twist the tag eng up.
Awesome work! Nothing like DIY invented tools!
And saved money and time!
Dude awesome, going to be building one of these this weekend when I reboot my CV axles!
Nice! Let us know how it goes!
Ingenious! Thanks for sharing! This deserves a thumbs up, subscribe and I hit the notification bell!
Thanks! Appreciate it!
You a genius i like it , i like people who use there brains
Thanks.
Very cool and inventive. Thank you. I will start making one in the morning.
Good luck! You're welcome!
Dude this saved my butt. I was struggling with those stupid clamps. Thanks a bunch!
You're welcome! 👍🏼
Replaced my axle few months ago, now switching tires into winters, I just found out another one pooped out as well. Shit, I may just fix it myself as well. I still have my old axles, just need new boots, grease and some time/patience. Original axles are superior to the new aftermarket ones, well worth the time. Just inconvenient.
You're right, the OEM parts are always better!
Great job! Just bought one of those. Yours is definitely heavier duty !
Right on!
Thanks man. Saved me a trip to the auto parts store.
Yea, me too. Saved me $$$ and time.
With the right leverage you could probably cut a slit into a 1/4 drive socket and ratchet it tight
Great simple design. Thank you.
You’re welcome 😊
I like simple I like making things myself as well as saving money goof delivery very informative

To do this without fabricating anything, I just used a door hinge. Awesome idea - thank you for sharing!
I love it. Even simpler.
How? You have a video?
@@steveakendo8579 yeah, would love to see it
door hinge got holes built in, just find a bolt to complete the project. but its kind a small

You're welcome! This saved me a TON of time and money!
How did you get the boots on the shaft? My polaris axle you cannot dissassemble the cvs to slide boots on.
Ive seen the cone type system used, I've seen the expansion tool that stretches the boot too. But how did you do it?
Brilliant simplicity!
🔥
Slick
👌 Awesome
Holy man that's clever as fk!
I know right!
4:04 What if you only drive your car in reverse? xD
Then do it opposite HAHA
just use a spam can key lol
Great Idea!!
Just simular to eBay $6 tool!
Except twice the work.
And 1000th of the time wasted. I hate waiting on parts.
Matt's Shop actually would be classified as a “tool”.
Nice, very inventive.
Ghetto but it works
These types of clamps are junk!
