Since Trackmania is my current addiction I will be making videos on the game until I at least gold medal each track, starting with the back half of Winter 2025. Hopefully I will be able to have a video out each week about the journey. I feel like its a good game to chronicle a journey on, since at the beginning you know nothing and then learn new things. Hopefully I remember to talk a bit more or commentate over the footage.

That one map with the big ice wall ride and the big jump at the end (the one where it took you some time to get gold) - that map, when it came out, had different ice physics, which we just call pre-patch ice. Nowadays, it's much more difficult to drive a good time. So, the fact that you got gold on your first playthrough is quite impressive!
@zai-tm It's not, the units don't fit (when you translate them to car, it's unrealistically small / big, forgot which one - especially with alt cars the measurements get even more crazy). It's just arbitrary speed units.
Some people just learn faster, like i watched writual like 2 years before i actual got to play the game, but when i did start i just understood the driving, mechanics, and techs simce i learned so much from writual.
something that i also love about trackmania, is that skill from the old games can insanely transfer to the new ones. one example is wavedemon, who im sure started playing tm20 this month, and already got a couple top 5s world on the weekly short maps.
Best of luck with your new addiction. The "i can do better" bit is too real. Ive spent hours on a single track many times just because at one point or another i had seen a lot of potential time gain
Hey man, If you want to be able to see the author time and hunt them, you can download a (very safe and trusted) Trackmania mod called Openplanet. Hopefully this message reaches you and you can hunt the AT's on your favourite maps! :)
Loved the intro, got me hooked. Narration also was great! The one thing I didn't really like was the gameplay clips, I think they were too long with nothing really happening, so they bored me a little. I think you should have added narration over it. Im surprised that you aren't a bigger channel! Keep it up!
great job bro, ive been playing the game for like 2.5 years but never played the paid version so ive been stuck on starter but the game is so fun and you will almost never see toxicity in this game and the game just somehow keeps living even though it was started in 2003
It is always nice to see new people in this game. There is soo much to explore and learn. But this will happen (somewhat) naturally as you play the game. Like plugins, custom made maps, building a map on your own, Author Medals (or beyond), driving techniques (Airbrake, drifts, gears, speedslides (SD & S4D) and no-slides and neo-slides, and so much more). I am at 1030hours into this game, and I am far from having learned everything.
i always love to see new TM creators, have you played the rest of the current campaign and maybe make a follow up video if you decide to go for ATs on the current campaign maybe only the first 10 tracks

I started watching Wirtual over a year ago only for the cheating scandals and general wr history videos (after I ran out of Kar;l Jobst and other speedrunning videos). I had no interest in playing any of the games myself, but that changed over time and when TM intrudced the weekly shorts mode I decided to finally give it a try in a free mode. I still have some learning issues, but it is satisfying to get all gold medals and even some autohors. And gonna buy club access soon, cause I want all the campaign maps.
idk why everybody forgets to mentions trackmania 2. it's a good hybrid between trackmania 2020 and trackmania nations forver, keeping the old style but with a newer engine and the support for custom blocks. the game is 10 dollars but it's often on sale for 5 dollars, and although it's not as active as the other two, there's still people making maps and playing on multiplayer servers to this day.
I just did the the most recent and the free one since they would be the easiest way to get into it. Getting all of the TM2 items on steam is around the price of a TM2020 Yearly Access, so its a good thing if you don't want to use Ubisoft Connect. TM2 is fun, I used to play Canyon very poorly for background footage back a very long time ago.
That is the beauty of Trackmania, its simplistic enough a person could pick it up and play. But has many quirks that can also be mastered to nail those faster times.
Wellcome. Personally I'm more of a TMNF player, but more TM players is more TM players. Hunt for medals, grind for PBs and try not to hit to many walls while you're at it. If there is one little tip I can give you: if you happen to land in a 90° angle, try accelerate, brake and steer. Let's you do a quick sharp turn. Doesn't work on ice and wood as far as I am concerned tho. Anyways, good luck and happy grinding.
Few tips 1. air is bad its slows you down alot so dont get air time 2. if you have to get air time land as smooth as possible 3. make sure you brake if u need to i have played 194 hours if u dont belive me
Id suggest trying to play with different camera modes, this specific camera you’re playing on I tend to avoid since it makes me motion sick hahahaha, when I started I didn’t know about them either and when I changed to one I liked I was much much better
@@thespaniard2792 I've recently started playing different maps in different cameras, I find when I'm on map that I'm really struggling to understand, sometimes switching camera angles can really help..the latest weekly shorts for example has a grass downhill map that's so much easier to see what's coming in cam2.
some tips from a noob (who also got addicted... to track 09 please help I'm forever stuck in this eternal loop of PAIN AAAAH-) who somehow got author on 2 tracks... 1) go outside in. you save more speed on turns when you go from the outside, cut in, and back outside. you also tend to NOT slam into walls. 2) when going down hills, try to tilt your car to the side (just a little, not too much) so you reduce airtime. doesn't apply if you're flying off of it. 3) braking. slowing down is better than hitting a wall. hitting stuff is for some reason a huge punishment in TM. 4) drifting. just. it's just fun. (but it is very useful if you can't make a turn normally) 5) ... idk 5 is just a good number screw me ;-; cool clips though also HOW DO ACTION KEYS I DONT GET IT 😢
I learned a lot of things recently as I started hunting the Author Medals, for Track 09 (of Winter 2025) its a lot of getting the transitions to reduce air time and landing in a way to prevent the car from wobbling too much while still taking the inside line, until the hill climb to the finish. As for action keys, you can press 1-5 on your keyboard. They lock the steering to different values in increments of 20%, its to combat the fact that a non-analog keyboard cannot do specific values instead being either 100% or 0%. It gives more approachability for KBM players as they are not needing a 150$+ keyboard or a controller to compete. If you are driving on some materials, some action keys will give better speed through them. Like bobsled is best at 40%.

You should try to go for some author medals, also you can change the angle of your camera by pressing the 1,2,3 buttons on ur keyboard
@ I was planning on shooting for the author medals once I was done with getting all golds on the Winter 2025 maps.
And also if your on controller press the right joystick if your on Xbox controller but idk about ps 5 to change from cam 1 to cam 2 and cam 3

Quick tip use camera 1 on ice and bob sled. Makes it much easier to see where you are going.

Good news, I got top 1 regionally on a weekly track lol (the now top 2 is like miles better than I am, so this is a great achievement for me)

Yeah, I didn't even know about that, Cam 1 seems to be one of the better ones with the camera positioned higher giving more view of the car.
