Loving the helmet cam, very nice picture...may have to pick one up for myself. Been to Glentress a few times but never to the spooky wood section, may have to now after seeing this. Happy riding bud.
Brilliant video mate. Just plucked up the courage today to do the jumps on this run (my fourth attempt at it). Had my heart in my mouth all the way down, but was brilliant fun. Great feeling when a jump lands nice and sweet! Didn't do it with as much style as this though (only been mountain biking for less than a year!).
Great video! Went there yesterday. The uphill kills you but once at the start you're in for a treat. Only managed to stay on (since I'm only a young one, 13 y/o).
@sadbaby01 Thanks mate. Yes, even the red route, which is the best in my opinion, has opt-outs at every technical part or drop but to be honest they aren't that bad as its mostly table tops so you can't miss it. Hope you enjoy the brilliant Spooky Woods!
@monsterenergyninty8 Cheers mate. They are Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5 dual ply downhill tyres but I use the 2.35 single ply minions on my all mountain bike as the grip is brilliant apart from in deep mud.
@chronicmongsyndrome , If you don't want any climbing, you're correct to leave the red run after Super G. From there, follow the blue return route (Blue Velvet) which brings you out just up from the Freeride Park (take a right on to the fire road, then at the fork, the the right road).
nice run dude. this practice for the fort bill enduro? Tharts a brilliant idea to get the fitness levels up, hauling a dh bike round the red route. might give that a go myself :-D
@leggegaz No mate, went to muck about in the freeride park but it was shut so pushed up Spooky Woods. Its hard to keep the speed up on the DH bike to be honest as its so flat. Cheers!
@chronicmongsyndrome Cheers mate! Not sure but we normally go all the way down and do the magic mushroom trail before the fire road then we just climb back up the main fire road to the freeride park or join the main climb, its not that far.
great video - im quite new to this and have only done the blue route a handful of times (getting faster each time) - are there opt-outs on the red route for people who want to progress but aren't necessarily up to bigger jumps/technical bits just yet? cheers!
only reason I ask is I've just started uploading to UA-cam and have found that most music is copyrighted and few of my vids have been barred unless the music is removed. can't get around it unless I use the crappy tunes they provide. there must be another way lol. anyway cheers for the response mate and cheers for sharing the vid. good luck.
@malkymaster Its not that bad mate. You don't have to do any jumps as they all have bit which you can go round them. Have a look at my other videos of Fort William for extreme. GoPro is AWESOME. You have to get an HD, its just superb quality! Cheers!
Not far mate. Just up the fire road that's at the top of the freeride park for around half a mile then a bit further but steeper push up some single track to the top. Its well signposted.
Haha, cheers mate. It was a nightmare to be honest as we only went for a bit fun in the freeride park and it was closed. Spooky Woods on the all mountain bike is awesome though. We just pushed up the fire road but even coming down isn't for DH bikes as it has a lot of pedaling as its really too flat for DH bikes. Haha!
@condowallace Cheers mate, won't being doing spooky woods again in a hurry on my DH bike. Haha! Should have just went to Inners and pushed up. Was good fitness training for the enduro though!
@halfers1996 Cool mate. All very good trails but you have to try Fort William, its awesome and the best in my opinion. I'm just back from the World Cup which is a must see also. Cheers!
@siffler1234 Cheers mate, its a great trail but I normally do downhill at Inners or Fort Bill. Thinking about giving it up for an 'all mountain' bike tho given I'm 37. Haha!
Each trail joins on to each other so its a good climb to the top but once up its down all the way pretty much. Seach 7 stanes website for a map of Glentress and you will see it on there. Its a great trail centre, the best in the UK in my opinion.
@siffler1234 oh and mint upload mate......this could be my new "insperation" video i watch before a ride bit sick of the whistler video now lol.....lerv spookywood and i'm 42ys old!!!!
@halfers1996 Depends what weight it is to be honest. Anything over 30lbs will be a struggle to climb with if your doing the red or black run. I would say if you have an all mountain full sus that would be perfect but a downhill bike is not for Glentress to be honest. Other than that, a hardtail is also good fun which is what I use mostly at GT, apart from this day I went on my DH bike but it was a nightmare push up. Cheers!
im only 12 but this is definetly one of my fav trails at glentress I ride it on a cube aim the brakes r good (for v brakes) but the suspension is CRAP so I will replace it soon good vid keep it up
Class vid, class riding, class bikes and even better sound track. Well done
excellent ride mate. just back from glentress 5 mins ago and i have to say i never rode it like you did :-). thanks for posting its inspiring
Cheers mate. I was down GT today and did the full black. This video is a few years old when I did it on my downhill bike.
Loving the helmet cam, very nice picture...may have to pick one up for myself. Been to Glentress a few times but never to the spooky wood section, may have to now after seeing this. Happy riding bud.

Awesome ride! and track is great! hd helmet camera is doing perfect job! I gotta have one for me! Respect for scottish bikers! Nikola - Serbia!
Great video! Went there yesterday. The uphill kills you but once at the start you're in for a treat. Only managed to stay on (since I'm only a young one, 13 y/o).
Nice, you were going pretty quick on parts of that last section :) Must have been fun peddling those bad boys up the top to spooky wood!
@cobratrinity Thanks for the comment. Yip, the camera is awesome. Spooky Woods is great fun, you have to try it mate. Cheers
@sadbaby01 Thanks mate. Yes, even the red route, which is the best in my opinion, has opt-outs at every technical part or drop but to be honest they aren't that bad as its mostly table tops so you can't miss it. Hope you enjoy the brilliant Spooky Woods!
Loved this section even if I did have to get a piece of gravel removed from my arm in peebles hospital because of it. Nice vid!
@monsterenergyninty8 Cheers mate. They are Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5 dual ply downhill tyres but I use the 2.35 single ply minions on my all mountain bike as the grip is brilliant apart from in deep mud.

good vid, going myself in October. Excellent tune
nice vid dude, just checking out glentress as im hoping to roadtrip up that way soon.
dislocated my shoulder today on the little jump at 8:41, you beauty!
nice run dude. this practice for the fort bill enduro? Tharts a brilliant idea to get the fitness levels up, hauling a dh bike round the red route. might give that a go myself :-D
@leggegaz No mate, went to muck about in the freeride park but it was shut so pushed up Spooky Woods. Its hard to keep the speed up on the DH bike to be honest as its so flat. Cheers!
4:10 - came round that too fast, flew over the bars and rolled down the hill.. good times! nice vid, really need to get myself a go pro
@chronicmongsyndrome Cheers mate! Not sure but we normally go all the way down and do the magic mushroom trail before the fire road then we just climb back up the main fire road to the freeride park or join the main climb, its not that far.
Great video mate.

Well Done for getting to the top with a Downhill Bike!!!
love this tune there on my tracks now...cheers
Age of love, The age of love. Cheers pal.
Good Choons and a smooth ride nice vid!
Glentress ends too quickly! well I was knackered at the end of it yesterday, but want to go back today. Shame I don't live in Scotland.
brilliant! just asking, are they cross-country tires on the front? they look like it from the video
@siffler1234 Looks a good trail mate, similar to Innerleithen in a way. Is their an uplift service there???
What is the first track used in this video? Great video, thanks mate!
only reason I ask is I've just started uploading to UA-cam and have found that most music is copyrighted and few of my vids have been barred unless the music is removed. can't get around it unless I use the crappy tunes they provide. there must be another way lol.
anyway cheers for the response mate and cheers for sharing the vid. good luck.
Yip, some are like that. But most of mine have been okay.
@malkymaster Its not that bad mate. You don't have to do any jumps as they all have bit which you can go round them. Have a look at my other videos of Fort William for extreme.
GoPro is AWESOME. You have to get an HD, its just superb quality! Cheers!
@sambanks123 Thanks for the comment, its appreciated.
Not far mate. Just up the fire road that's at the top of the freeride park for around half a mile then a bit further but steeper push up some single track to the top. Its well signposted.
@chronicmongsyndrome Can't remember mate, these were DH gloves I chucked over a year ago. Sorry!
@siffler1234 Haha, sorry mate, its called - Intro (club mix) Fred Falke / Alan Braxe. Its taken from Cream Anthems 2001. Hope that helps!
@chronicmongsyndrome Any 661, Troy Lee or I currently use Fox which are good. They are all mostly summer gloves though.
Haha!
great tune choice
great vid mate. How did you publish your vid using your own music?
Cheers mate. I use iMovie on an Apple Mac. It just allows you to add from iTunes then upload to UA-cam.
@wheelchairdrunk Cheers mate, its a great trail and the GoPro camera is awesome!
@mcteshman Yip, its a great place. Once you go, your hooked.
@jbeamson Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. A hardtail will be fine for the red.
great qulaity love glentress, bit of extra suspension would be lovely on ethat trail, i ride it on my dmr reptoid lol
@LynxAdvert Cheers mate, its a great trail.
@condowallace Cheers mate, won't being doing spooky woods again in a hurry on my DH bike. Haha! Should have just went to Inners and pushed up. Was good fitness training for the enduro though!
Going to morra cant wait is full sus needed on the red route????
Yes mate, it will be fine.
From the bottom of each trail do you need to cycle back up to the top?
@halfers1996 Cool mate. All very good trails but you have to try Fort William, its awesome and the best in my opinion. I'm just back from the World Cup which is a must see also. Cheers!
This was on a DH bike. I ride a Trek Slash 9 now. You'll be fine on that bike. I've seen guys ride Spooky woods with no suspension before.
@mcteshman Thanks mate!
How far away is the spooky wood trail away from the buzzards nest car park?
can someone please tell me what that track is @7:00 is its an earworm....love it
@siffler1234 Cheers mate, its a great trail but I normally do downhill at Inners or Fort Bill. Thinking about giving it up for an 'all mountain' bike tho given I'm 37. Haha!
@Atheisthutch Cheers mate, its a special trail.
does not having rear suspension make a big difference?
I know. See my other vids. Cheers
GoPro HD, 1080p. The original one.
Nice one, thank you mate!
Each trail joins on to each other so its a good climb to the top but once up its down all the way pretty much. Seach 7 stanes website for a map of Glentress and you will see it on there. Its a great trail centre, the best in the UK in my opinion.
Would a specialised hardrock disc 2012 be okay?
@moosehooker Yip mate, but Spooky woods is awesome! Will just have to take my hardtail the next time!
@Hackmannhasstaudi Thanks, its a great trail.
@sebastiankarbowiak Thanks!

@siffler1234 oh and mint upload mate......this could be my new "insperation" video i watch before a ride bit sick of the whistler video now lol.....lerv spookywood and i'm 42ys old!!!!
@theobeoleo12 This was on my Norco A-Line 2009 DH bike but I normally use my GT xc bike at Glentress.
Yes, you will be fine.
Cheers mate.
@halfers1996 Depends what weight it is to be honest. Anything over 30lbs will be a struggle to climb with if your doing the red or black run. what camera package did you use?
im only 12 but this is definetly one of my fav trails at glentress I ride it on a cube aim the brakes r good (for v brakes) but the suspension is CRAP so I will replace it soon good vid keep it up
@bushwaakka Norco A-Line 2009 mate, not realy for Glentress to be honest!

@NJAMWADE Cheers mate!
@kirstin181101 nice!, i got myself some maxxis advadvage 2.25s the other day and they are feeling great.
@ralphypig1 Its a great trail mate. I was there today, a bit slippy but great fun.
@robbanks50 Its a great place mate, red route (spooky woods) is a must.
DH bike seems a bit way overkill and a slog on that.
Cheers
Your right, but read above mate and you will see why we had to do it.
@kirstin181101 yeh im ok now but at the time it was pretty painful and i was only on the middle one
@halfers1996 Fox main goggles in Red Shard. Cheers
@monsterenergyninty8 Not tried those ones but all maxxis are good.
Love this track, I'm heading up in September if anyone wants to ride :)
