I really appreciate the thought you put into your videos. I have been investing for about 15 yrs now. I'm never done learning, and I feel your shared knowledge has made me better. Thank you!
This makes sense to me, Sir. I would like to follow the same philosophy. Good point about enjoying the life, because the time flies away and nobody will give it you back again. So very important to enjoy the ride.
Hi Sven! I have an asymmetric bet for you: H+H International (HH) a danish building material producer. Few competitors. Risks: Interest rates, slower building output, energy costs. New CEO. Rewards: Oligopoly and great capital allocator. Catalyst: Big undersupply of housing in all of their markets (UK, central europe and poland). Price: P/E 5, P/B 0,9. EV/FCF 5 (they have approx 80 mill in maintenance capex).
This video is pure gold produced by Mr Carlin in my opinion. The only problem is that I have no idea why I should watch his next videos , as everything is actually said by this video :) Really appreciate it.🍺🍺🍺
Excellent summary of a reasonable stock picking strategy from value investing perspective (normalized PE ratio of 10 or less, some growth, some dividend, good business). After 10 years of investing and 15 books read I also ended up with a very similar strategy which I started applying to my whole portfolio last year. Still too soon to tell if it will produce the 15% annualised returns going forward, but glad to know that it worked for you.
I like the TIKR terminal, i find it a nice piece thats complementary to yahoo finance and others data websites. TIKR terminals also seems to give 'global news' and 'detailed news' you wouldnt see on your 'local websites/news''. I've been following your channel since 2020 (with different accounts) keep up the work. My investments have been on pause (for family reasons) but the learning never stops!
Hallo sven thank you so much for the content. what do you think about the inflation % . As we see the rate of inflation will increase and will be bigger the 3% perhaps will reach 10% and that will decrease our % of gains it means if our goal is 15%per year with inflation 10%that will give us 5% .so what you propose in this scenario?
You scammers are really stupid. If you used your energy to start a business you wouldn't be poor. Imagine living your one and only life with such poor character and going around trying to hurt people.
Greetings from Romania. I have seen many of your videos and they are very useful! Thank you :) However, I have a question for which I have not found an answer... why when outstanding shares increase does the common stock remain at the same value...? I have studied several accounting balance sheets in sp 500 and I have seen many companies that increase the number of outstanding shares but the common share remains the same? :)
Hey Sven great video! I’m curious on your opinion on airline companies? Luv dal aal and ual? They have almost as much cash as their market cap and air travel has returned. They are almost back cash flow positive and luv reinstates their dividend. There is economics risk and a rescission could hurt their profits.
Recently, I have been seeing a lot of TIKR. Any opinions / experience compared to, for example, Seeking Alpha, anyone? Especially as regards premium plans.
Might step back from the stock market for a while and get into real estate. Not frustrated with performance but I'm tired of the constant doom and gloom bullshit.
Sven, I often hear people talk about good businesses. But, what is a good business? Is it one continue to compound yoy or can a business like PBR be a good business if they continue to pay dividend yoy but go no where?
Good video,so smart thinking. My strategy is little different,i have much gold and silver in my portfolio. But i think same,i own part of company. For me is allso very important to like company, then i´m happy:)
Thank you Sven... great video... One question for some People who have 55 to 65 years old with a Life expectancy of 15 to 20 years ... how to invest in a market who can go nowere next 10 years?

Great video Sven! 🙂 these kinds of videos become our inspiration🙂 At 3:40, you said you sold the stock at around 2015.. It was near the peak of its market price that time.. How do you know when to sell a stock that you don't plan to hold for life? Do you calculate the estimated intrinsic value, then you sell when it is near that price?
Hey Sven. Recently my family sold a small apartment and we ended up with 45,000 euros. My parents want to spend that money in the next 5 years for my 2 younger brothers college expenses. Since more than 30% allocation in stocks in that short time frame doesn't make sense and European rates are a joke, what would you invest in to get some sort of acceptable yield in euros? College expenses for 2 kids in Greece is about 10k a year for 4 years so it would be great if we are left with some of that money after my brothers finish college. My parents don't have any other savings besides that.
Market could stay flat for 4 years and then crahs the 5th year and then you have lost 50% of that money. it can also go up 3 years and crash the 4th. you never know.
If he got more than 15% a year for 20 years then Fidelity can hire him for a 10 million dollar a year salary to replace the contrafund manager who only got about 10% a year. Do you want that salary or do you want to make youtube videos and sell books?
@@BrandonRodriguez283 Value investors don't get 15% annual rate of returns. Fidelity value, growth or small cap mutual funds don't get 15% long term returns. Only the Fidelity funds in the healthcare sector get long term 15% annual rate of returns. Does Sven own any healthcare stocks?
no, this is just my story, a lot was because of circumstances, but I share what worked so maybe others can take the same opportunities. It wasn't linear, not audited, not made on one market, so it is just a story.... I see I will have to make a new video about this.
His story is that Sven made his investment portfolio public for his subscribers and when everything started falling off the cliff as well as his portfolio picks Sven suddenly changed his mind and backed out from showing his portfolio and saying that he sold everything. He is a chicken and a con
As Sven put it himself, the past was unaudited and hence not verifiable. While it is a good story, the community can only go on what happened in the last 4 years...and in that time, he sold out of the lump sum (it's his money, can do what he wants with it) and reduce contributions to model (again his money can do what he wants). 4 years of record publicly..let's see in 6 years time what the tune will be
Hey Sven, i watch every video of your but i always get frustrated by one thing, THE SOUND, your mic or settings make it very hard to hear what you say and i always have to turn my volume to max to hear you well. Im sure its not only me, please like this comment if you have same problem and maybe he will see it and improve the sound. Thanks all
Good Morning Dr. Sven! Thanks for another informative video! 👍 I made that short term investment by smashing the 👍 button & locked in those long term gains by hitting the 🔔!
I know it's not your "thing", but do you really want to get more viewers? Do an in depth video on the MMTLP stock situation going on right now. You have the kind of platform that can shed light on how so many retail investors are getting screwed.
Anyone can say they outperformed the market, but without records that have been verified by an independent third party it's only a claim. That said I do find that Sven provides solid investment advice.
Lol a return of 14.5% for 20 years? Yeah sure! We, your audience, are all the next Warren Buffets. 📈 Especially if we subscribe to your research plattform, right? 😂
