I spent 2 hours in this dlc and the floor already turned invisible.
Honestly I wish Gamefreak took all the time they needed just like how Super Mario Bros Wonder did it with no deadline.

Time isn't what's needed for quality, you have to have passion as well. Pokemon is a B-team series now, their main focus is trying to make something equally as big.

@@isolationcowboy1201 No, it needs competent executives, the devs are overworked and that's why they can't release a quality product within the deadlines. Case in point: Cyberpunk 2077 (Seedy Projket Red became infamous for crunch). Crunch is net loss for everyone but the AAA publishers who coast by on brand loyalty (or in the case of Cyberpunk, an anime made by one of the best studios) in spite of doing the least work short of the executives at TPC, Game Freak, Creatures and Nintendo (the last of which are in charge of the publishers but do even _less_ actual work).
It got one in Legends Arceus but instead they decided to ignore it and go this route...
I really hope Terapagos will bring us back to Paldea. Imagine if Area Zero got deeper for some reason and Terapagos was hiding in a deep, unknown part of Area Zero. That would really make the DLC cool.

Hopefully the school uniforms will have skirts and tops with bows for the girls in the remakes! Personally, I’ve always found it absolutely disgusting that the player wears the same outfit regardless of their gender. I also want the player to buy and wear more clothes so they can show their style just like in Pokemon X, Y, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon, Sword and Shield!

@@dortman2445 Um, I’m not sure if I should be offended by this, but I think that it would be cute if the girls had bows on their tops instead of ties, and they should definitely have skirts! I just found out that I’m not the only one who hates that the female playable character doesn’t wear a skirt as a part of her uniform, so it would definitely be a major improvement for Nintendo to have her do that!
For the Indigo Disk, I sure hope that the rest of the starters from the Johto, Unova, Kanto, Alola, and Hoenn regions came. Only one of them were Charizard and the Hisuian Starters.

The atmosphere of this dlc is great. It's very nostalgic, the Japanese countryside is perfectly recreated.
If the rate of yearly Pokémon games keeps up, the games might become unplayable (literally) and it will still sell well.

Ogerpon is Pokemon's answer to Skull Kid from Majora's Mask.
Both were outcasts and it was the Mask that caused them to be feared in Pokemon's case it was three beings both characters were wronged for their misdeads and used as Scapegoats.
Except Majora's Mask was a cursed voodoo charm (a juju) that took advantage of Skull Kid.

The DLC is DIGITAL only. You will need the base game (which you can have either in the physical copy or digital, you don't need both).
So get the base game (if you don't have it).That's $60, then the DLC is $35 (USD).
Note if you have the physical copy of the base game, you will have to have the cartridge in the system to play it. Also, be careful on which version you get. If you get Scarlett, make sure you choose the DLC for Scartlett, not Violet; vice versa. You won't be able to return it.

Can there be a recoil penalty for raid battles or at least a way to leave a match if a trainer decides to troll? I've lost count of trainers using Flare Blitz & Belly Drum against a boss who deals super effective moves, and I've even had a teammate attack my pokemon for using moves like Chilling Water & Struggle Bug to keep the team alive. I'm talking Charizards Flare Blitzing a tera grass Tyranitar and Iron Hands Belly Drumming in the face of a tera ice Grimmsnarl
I hate how the only thing you changed was making it more difficult to enter a raid battle. It takes 10 minutes to join a battle, only to be grouped with trolls. This is why I regret saying anything nice you squad simps. Y'all so full of it, I don't know how you take one step to the next
I noticed some people digging into how Ogerpon's story is the same as the story of Momotaro, an old Japanese folktale, just with the victim and villains reversed.
This prompted some digging into Part 2, and... yup. Part 2 is going to be based on the story of Urashima Taro. To summarize for those unfamiliar, Urashima Taro is another old Japanese folktale about a fisherman who rescues a baby turtle which turns out to be the daughter of the emperor of the sea, and is taken to the emperor's palace beneath the sea by a much larger turtle the next day as thanks. The small turtle turns into a princess named Otohime, and the palace itself is separated into 4 sections, one for each season of the year. After three days, Taro gets homesick and leaves, and the princess gives him a box he is told not to open. But upon returning home (via the same turtle) he found out that those 3 days beneath sea were actually 3 hundred years above ground, and nothing is the same. Taro then opens the box he was told not to, and within seconds is transformed into an old man, because the contents of the box were his old age.
I am VERY exited to see how this second Japanese folktale is twisted into something we least expect... And how it'll tie into the first part of the DLC!
Long before The Teal Mask was released, I kept having a bad feeling about the Loyal Three after they were revealed and was worried that they weren’t really who the people of Kitakami thought they were. This was because of their Ability, Toxic Chain, which I correctly believed meant that they were Poison types (Poison is my least favorite Pokemon type, and I’m scared of most Poison type Pokemon because my favorite Pokemon type, the Fairy type, is weak against them), and their faces made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I did hope that I was wrong and just worrying for nothing, but when I read about them on Bulbapedia the day after The Teal Mask was released, I learned that I was right. Just as I had feared, it turned out that the “Loyal” Three were actually villains, greedy thieves to be specific, who robbed Ogerpon of her beloved masks! I wasn’t horrified, but I was disappointed that they indeed weren’t who they seemed to be. Anyway, when I read about Ogerpon and her past, I immediately felt very sorry for her. I also think that she’s absolutely adorable! Her face is super cute, I love how her torso looks like a little dress, and all of her masks really are beautiful! I really love her style! My favorite masks are the Teal Mask and the Wellspring Mask! How the people of Kitakami thought that Ogerpon’s appearance was scary is beyond me! My heart brims with sympathy for her, as well as empathy because I’m misunderstood too. I also happened to be bullied by an evil boy when I was in elementary school. Me and Ogerpon really do have a lot in common, and because of all of these things, she’s now one of my favorite Legendary Pokemon of all time! Personally, I also really like the fact that Ogerpon is a female only species and that the Lousy Three are all male only because of my own experience with that boy who bullied me because I have Aspergers, which he hated. However, despite their occupation as thieves, I believe that the Lousy Three can be redeemed. My favorite member is Fezandipiti because he’s half Fairy type and very handsome. I also really want there to be a Pokemon movie starring Ogerpon, and it’ll take place in the same universe as the main anime. It’ll be released after the Pokemon Company makes movies starring Kubfu, Urshifu, Calyrex, Glastrier, Spectrier and Enamorus, which will also take place in the same universe as the main anime. I’d love to share my ideas for those four movies with you! I also want to write a song about Ogerpon! I’ve also read some rumors online about the Loyal Three’s master (honestly, I always thought that Okidogi was the leader of the group), who might appear in The Indigo Disk. I hope that it will, because I really want to know who it is! It may very well be a Mythical Pokemon, and it could also appear in the Pokemon movie starring Ogerpon!
Speaking of The Indigo Disk, I had no idea that it was going to be based on Urashima Taro until you brought it up! Now that you mention it, Blueberry Academy and the Terarium seem to be based on the Sea Emperor’s palace, and Terapagos might be based on Otohime! I think that it’s a Water type, and I hope that it’s a female only species just like Ogerpon! Maybe there could be another Legendary Pokemon that’s a counterpart to Terapagos, and it could be based on a crane because in some versions of Urashima Taro, after Taro becomes an old man, a white feather in the box turns him into a crane! It should definitely be a male only species so it can further represent Taro! I can’t wait to see what will happen in The Indigo Disk! When I get Pokemon Violet, I know that I’ll enjoy both parts of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero very much! I hope that you will too! 💚🎭🍃💙💿💧👸🏻🧚🏻♀️🧜🏻♀️🧞♀️💝💖💗💕🌹💐🌷🌸🌺🎀🩰🐱🦄🍰🧁🍩
@@peachgirl1366 Yeah, about that supposed leader of the loyal 3, I've heard about it too. Most people think it's directly related to Momotaro (the character) for many reasons: It's name (Dokutaro), being peach-shaped, and leading a Dog, Pheasant, and Monkey specifically against an Ogre, but I have my own suspicions about it. Namely due to it's abilities and sinister appearance, I suspect that it is in fact the reincarnation of Dark Matter from Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. Maybe you've played it, maybe you haven't, but I'll put the rest of this reply below this line so you can choose whether or not you want to indulge in PSMD spoilers.
Essentially, Dark Matter is manifested negative emotions incarnate, and is the main villain of PSMD. It's goal is to "return the world to the void" through whatever means necessary. Here's where the similarities begin: first off, it has the ability to turn Pokemon to stone. That might not seem like much at first, but consider for a moment that the loyal 3 could possibly have been statues for who knows how long ever since Ogerpon defeated them originally. That is just spitballing, but this next ability of Dark Matter is where things get interesting: the ability to mind-control any Pokemon with even the slightest amount of darkness in their hearts. It's mainly suspected that Kieran will be possessed by Dokutaro in the Indigo Disk, and if Dokutaro IS Dark Matter, this would be extremely easy to do because of how much hatred flows through Kieran. And there's one last thing: Dark Matter says right before you defeat him that simply breaking him would cause him to be born again in the distant future. I like to think that the mainline games take place in said distant future, where humans have overrun civilization, having come into being the same way us humans in the real world did. So, it would be pretty reasonable to assume that Dokutaro, by all means... IS Dark Matter reincarnated.
That's about all there is to my little theory, but I'm almost certain it's the truth. Also, I couldn't agree more about Ogerpon, she really does deserve the best. I went through the whole main game with a team of all-stars that ended up almost poetically becoming "my greatest treasures", in more ways than one since I love giving the Pokemon that stay on my main team some personality like in the Anime. The original 6 consisted of:
Spring the Meowscarada: Essentially the leader of the group, as well as my choice of starter. Has a flair for theatrics.
King Tials V the Floatzel: The 5th in the royal Tials bloodline, and a running joke in my playthroughs ever since I accidentally misspelled "Tails" when naming a Buizel I caught in Brilliant Diamond. My headcanon is that at some point the bloodline reached nobility through being associated with powerful trainers, and always wearing a signature King's Rock. King Tials the 5th may just be one of the greatest in said bloodline to date.
Sir Radience the Shiny Corviknight: Met early on as only a shiny Rookidee about 30 seconds after I left Mezagoza for the first time, and became one of the best on my team. Nobility and Confidence define him and his gleaming golden armor.
Mayro the Clodsire: Named after the #1 Quagsire and Clodsire lover on the internet, but still not a joke otherwise. With HP of over 400 and leftovers to spare she tanks almost any hit she's not weak to like it's nothing.
Noir the Tinkaton: Aggressive at first, but calm and cheerful once you get to know her. It wasn't until I read her dex entry however that I came to the sudden realization why she was on edge all the time: one of my team aces was Sir Radience, a Shiny Corviknight. But through forced (and carefully monitored) time together on the team, the 2 of them have forged a forbidden love and prefer to be alongside eachother now.
And lastly, Anat the Cyclizar: The backup of the team, but shined when the time was right.
But after all was said and done with the Teal Mask DLC, I refused to just leave Ogerpon in the dark. Because she was also Grass type, Spring decided on passing down de-facto leadership of the team to Ogerpon, and with that, I decided on the name "Ivory" for Ogerpon. And I only wish the best for Ivory, so if Dokutaro is in the Indigo Disk, I'll make sure Ivory gets the 1-on-1 chance to pummel that stupid piece of darkness right in the face for what he did to her!
@@bonegamerthecyndaquill7181 I’ve never played Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, nor do I intend on doing so (I will play its future remake, though), but I’ve read about Dark Matter on Bulbapedia, and I know about its powers. I really like your theory about Dokutaro being the reincarnation of Dark Matter, and it’d make a lot of sense for him to possess Kieran! I think that he sensed Kieran’s hatred and used it to revive the Lousy Three when he punched their grave! I also think that Dokutaro should be a Poison and Dark type Pokemon. If he is in The Indigo Disk, I too will gladly let Ogerpon get her revenge on him and bite his stupid face off!
Do you also like my idea for Terapagos’s crane counterpart? I hope so! I’d really love to share information with you about my main team members in the core Pokemon games and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX and the personalities that I came up with for them! I love doing that and taking my time with my adventures just like in the anime too! However, since I restarted Pokemon Pearl (it’s not even working right anymore, so I’m going to get rid of it and get Shining Pearl), Soul Silver, White, X, Alpha Sapphire and Sun a couple of years ago, I only focused on playing Alpha Sapphire so I could get a certain starter Pokemon after completing the Delta Episode because I wanted to transfer it to Sun via Pokemon Bank. I did start playing my other core Pokemon games again a while ago, but I’ve only gotten my starters and caught just a few Pokemon in them, except in Soul Silver (I currently only have my starter). I also only played through the beginning of Rescue Team DX so far. I also have Let’s Go Eevee and Shield, and I’ve gotten through a good amount of the former, but only got my starter and caught a few Pokemon in the latter. I really need to start playing all of my Pokemon games again, and the sooner I do, the better! Would you like me to tell you about my favorite starter Pokemon from each region, all of my main team members from Alpha Sapphire and the rest of my Pokemon games once I’ve played through them more? I’d really love to!

Great review! Main game was fun and so far part 1 is pretty cool! Hyped for part 2! Hopefully after part 2 comes out, hope the next mainline game takes longer to come out. The devs need more time if we want a better experience with the games.

This is almost great timing as I’m closing in on ending all 3 stories. All I have left to do is defeat the last Titan, battle Team Star’s Leader, and Challenge the Pokémon League. After that, Area Zero.
I remember hurrying the last few odds and ends with the main three storylines AND the post-story content, just so I can enjoy the dlc without worrying about finishing the main game. It was really fun just speeding through whatever things I had to do, so now I can explore the new areas already!
Bustling festival = 4 tents setup with 2 NPC’s just standing there. Gamefreak, it’s time to hand development to another studio. This isn’t the game boy anymore.
The worst part is how much money they get every time from their sells for doing nothing at all, and they don't use that money to improve, just keep making games while people blindly buy.

Knowing Pokémon fans, this will be the highest selling DLC of all time. And Game Freak will continue to skimp until there's nothing left, and people will buy it anyway.
Unfortunately, their sales are just nuts in the new games. So sales don't really impact their development. They release poor quality and made billions.
Don't you see that the less effort they make, the more they sell? Are you really expecting the DLC won't make absurd amounts of money?
Beating a dead horse here, the dlc is fun, the game style is great but there is a heavy lack of pokemon variety in the new openworld area; additionally the FPS is worse than upon original release. I have many moments where the game just freezes for a second. YET I still bought it...I guess you win but man...why you do this to us?
because they know they can release a buggy poorly optimized mess and still you and all other pokemon fans will buy it
@@Jokerxeno1 that's very true, we always do. what's different this time, is it's the first pokemon anything I've bought and haven't finished. I literally bought Zelda, a game I thought I'd never buy because I've never been a huge fan of the series...but TOTK while it feels a bit too big travel wise, it's fun once I get to where I'm going.

How do either of these parts explain what is the treasure in Area Zero if neither of them actually take place there?
They play with people's hopes and expectations. The base game implied the treasure is the journey and making friends, and I won't be surprised if the DLCs only mention this again.

I wish this game was quality. Was looking forward to it! But after playing it, my mind is one of disappointment towards the Pokemon franchise. Back to my old games!

Seriously though some people are saying the dlc is garbage and some people being kinky and talking about r34 and furries.
I honestly hate it when people do that it just ruins the game and makes me want to expose there history and make them lose there channels.
It makes me so sad to see how they did not fix any of the graphical bugs in this. I have always gotten Pokemon games day 1 from X and Y up until now. I logged over 1,000 hours into Sword and Shield, maxing out my playtime.
I got Scarlet and Violet a week or so after release, hoping the issues wouldn't bother me but no, sorry. I dropped the game after completing maybe a third of the story content. Such an absolute disappointment.
I have not purchased the DLC and will not be purchasing any more Pokemon games until I see changes. This DLC and associated patch should've been an opportunity to go back and fix the base game and provide an adventure that had the polish I've come to expect from Nintendo. But it wasn't and it is just as buggy and ugly as the main game.
I want to give your company money. Why won't you let me give it? I have seen that the Switch and even Wii U before it can produce fantastic gameplay and graphical experiences like I saw with The Legend of Zelda BOTW and TOTK and Xenoblade Chronicles X, 2 and 3 that far surpass this pile of garbage.
Truly the Sonic 06' of Pokemon, (it's on par graphically which is honestly sadder than Sonic 06') the game concepts itself are not bad, the ideas are fantastic, but the graphics and bareness of the world destroy it.
My thoughts exactly, a money hungry company is squeezing every dollar from a generation of nostalgic people that don't care how bad the games are as long as they keep making more. I'm devastated to see how Pokémon has become this, I hope GF stops selling trash and eventually goes bankrupt (or makes quality games again, but that's not gonna happen, keep dreaming you all)
@HitokageWorshipper yeah, exactly. Most things TPC has put out since 2017 has felt unfinished to a degree, a problem that has gotten worse and worse as the years went by.
I don't see this with any other Nintendo franchise. TPC and Game Freak are dragging this brand through the mud.
@@masterofblabber367 It's ironic how a significant, notable part of what made Nintendo be what it is today is how the GB, GBC and GBA sold so much because of Pokémon. And today, Nintendo is the one doing all the good games, while these idiots just keep making easy money out of popularity and stubborn buyers refusing to learn the sad truth in this business.
On a similar note, from the Pokemon TV app, I'm reminded of how fun the early seasons were and how they were so charming and clearly demonstrative of effort (with regards to aesthetics, voice acting talents, clever and humorous writing, etc.) even when Team Rocket was irritating or when Ash and his motivations were insufferably self--righteous/self--aggrandizing/obnoxious/hypocritical/etc. And yet even with the Pokemon Company releasing the English language teaser to the last episodes featuring Ash winning a championship, I feel absolutely nothing toward our awareness of his journey ending. And, it's not just because of how the art style and voice acting are so different from what I had grown up with, but because the more recent series of Pokemon TV episodes, starting with the Alolan ones, seem so empty and tired. Likewise with the games, there's this emptiness with seeing the pseudo legendary Baxcalibur and the Treasures of Ruin or seeing any of the attacks (signature, newly debuted, etc.) they perform or even seeing a shiny Pokemon.
I have had so much fun playing the old games, and every now and then, I will still go back for an infuriatingly challenging yet still fun run in Emerald's battle tower or visit the GTS or the National Park in HGSS to play with the GB sounds device because of how enduringly great such features are. I still believe the in--battle sprites from gen. 3, at least, hold up, today, too. And with the TV show, I can always rewatch Team Rocket's song in the Jigglypuff debut episode or see the fun of Conway's interactions with Dawn or Bonnie being more or less like Brock when it came to attractive ladies. I wish they stopped making silly gimmicks like Terastalizing and dynamaxing and z-moves (though, at most, mega evolutions would be fine) and focused on having a beautiful world like that in BOTW/TOTK or even MHS2 that one would want to explore with a Pokemon instead of a world that has great levels of detail for the ground and people's clothing and Pokemon surface textures but that also has horrible--looking grass and clearly out of place Pokemon shapes like the giant Klawf's polygon--shaped eyes
