That was definitely strange, maybe a mattress that had caught fire and fell off the vehicle? Strange how the kept going across traffic. I’m sure there’s a new report somewhere on it.
in the very bottom right of screen he has lost tire pressure, probably ran over stuff in the shoulder, the big puff is the frame digging into the shoulder when the tire blew and that sent him left into the front of the semi that t boned him. The rising cloud is where the oil pan sheared off when the frame hit
A few years ago I was on I-24 and I happened to accelerate the car to get around a semi I didn’t want to get stuck behind going up a hill but when I accelerated, the transmission dropped down one gear like it was supposed to and of course my rpm’s jumped. This caused a block coolant plug on the motor get blown out and I dumped all of my coolant. I didn’t know this at first as there was no noise associated with this and I did glance in my rear view mirror to see white smoke way behind me but due to it being so far away I didn’t relate it to my car. The car starts losing power but all of my gauges are “in the green”, even my coolant temp. I pull over and park and that motor never ran again. (1996 Mercury Sable) Me and my father ended up putting another motor in it and continued to drive it a few more years. My temp gauge didn’t indicate overheating because it was a coolant temp gauge, not an engine temp gauge. Since all of the coolant was gone, the coolant temp gauge just stayed in its normal position. It wasn’t reporting coolant temp anymore as there was none. I wish I had an engine temp gauge because I probably could have saved the motor. I told this story because, well, I just thought y’all should know.

This crash was likely attributed to the structural integrity of an internal combustion engine on a high performance vehicle being pushed to it's destruction point. But where are the skid marks?
You're asking us what happened? You tell us, you're the one watching the traffic cams!
Some idiot trying to pass on shoulder and found out that don't work.
Wtf fell out from under the car and caught on fire? That was crazy looking.
Looks like a pallet of bagged limestone or bundle of Sheetrock fell off the flatbed

That pass in the weeds didn't work out well.
Speeding, passing on the shoulder, lost control, instant karma
Looks to me like somebody's engine blew up

Jackie Stewart, 1970s NASCAR commentator (in Scottish accent): "there he is headed down the backstretch...oh loook...he's blown his engine!"

Don't play games with semis
Failed attempt at getting a highway takeover started.
It was pushed over by Bigfoot!!
