- One of the great Bledisloe Cups, at Ballymore in Brisbane - 1992. Featuring a sensationally confrontational haka, controversial dirty play and sublime rugby. Atmosphere was electric and I was an electrified 9 year old spectator...
What a cowardly attack by Richard Loe on the defenceless Carozza the smallest guy on the field lying on his back !
The most gutless thing I've ever seen on a rugby field. Congratulations Richard Loe.
Play on, he forced the ball on his forearm 😉
People focus on Loe’s dogshot. I hope the touch judge reads this comment. It happened right in front of you. You took your eyes off the play. You were derelict in your duty. You should be embarrassed with your performance and I hope that you were called to account for it and that you never officiated at this level again. The referee may not have had a perfect view but you did. Shame on you for your lack of due diligence. Shame on you.
Loe was a classic rugby thug.
I remember waikato v auckland.
Ball comes out a scrum to Foxy who passes it out then its passed again and in the background Loe comes off the side of the scrum and does a headhigh stiff arm into Foxys head.
So far off the ball no official saw it.
They guy wouldn't get 2 games in a row these days
great era the 90s. bledisloe cup games were high quality.
Awww dont you just love Ricard Loe . He was eye gouging Matt Cooper that year as well in the NPC final
I saw him on the train in 1993 to the Lions test in Auckland after his ban for gouging.
Isn't it ironic how after Loe alters Paul Carozza's nose the camera pans to Dwyer and there is a advertisement for Elastoplasters
Ah yes Richard Loe's early tackle on Paul Carozza ;)
