I used a fram synthetic oil filter and the o ring had a seam on the outside. I didn’t realize it was draining the oil out of the filter and into the pan until it started sounding different. Be sure to use oem filters and o rings
I’m running 10w30 because my engine’s 12 years old and the manual says it’s within range. Thicker oil works once the bearings and rings have been worked in

All of the lambda v6 engines are essentially the same engine with different displacement values. A lot of the parts are interchangeable.
